Cool! Thanks so much for sharing your process with us. It was under 30 years ago the first American was able to travel to Venice to learn the secrets of glass blowing. He had to give up an eye though... (Dale Chihuly)
I get quite a bit of grout haze remaining when I grout glass. I wipe down several times while the grout is setting but still am always fighting grout haze. Any tips for removal? Thanks!
+Michelle White my advice will be specific to stained glass mosaics as that's what I work with. If your work is made of stained glass then this should help =) Do you do wet grouting or dry grouting? I have a feeling you might do the wet version, that one seems to make an infinite mess. When you use a wet sponge to wipe the grout away, the haze seems to stay forever. So, I would first suggest trying dry grouting which only means that you wipe away grout using a dry towel until you get pretty close to the glass being shiny. Once all the grout is off set your work a side and come back the next day with a dry lint-free cotton rag and do the final polish. That should remove the final haze. I hope this helps. And I just want to clarify that you have to wipe away all the grout, don't leave for the next day. The final polish is just to remove that stubborn, slight haze that hangs around while the grout is not fully set. Best of Luck!
Carolyn Laronde Hi Carolyn, I use Weldbond. MacGlue is also great. I cut all the circles with flathead tile nippers. You can see me demonstrate it in this video: th-cam.com/video/Wqi9H959BRQ/w-d-xo.html If you practice, you'll get good in no time! Good Luck =)
Catie Kilts After I peel the tape off the glued mosaic, there is practically no tape glue left on the glass. If there is any left, it comes off during the grouting process. When I rub the grout off with a towel, it picks up any remaining sticky residue left on the glass.
Hey Elena, I just use a good quality clear packing tape. I use it to create all of my mosaics. But there is actually a special Tile Tape out there made for this purpose. It is more expansive, but is a good product. Here is a link to one place that you can buy it from: mosaicstudiosupply.com/TILE-TAPE-ROLL/

What kind of glue do you use? ... and how do you make small circles so easily?

What do you use to get the tape glue off? Thank you for posting these, love watching them.

Hi, what's the name of the glued foil you stick on the face of the pieces?
