      Hi Craig, The past 14 months have been a gut-wrench frankly. My best friend and business partner Jim Ireland who can be seen in many of my videos was killed test-flying a SAL P-51 replica. We lost five other close friends in our EAA chapter also and then suddenly, the Presidency of EAA chapter 280 and the Time To Fly Museum fell on my shoulders. The Covid pandemic nearly bankrupted both of these 501 [C] [3] corporations and this has taken a great deal of my time and attention. With luck, things will get back to normal and I can produce more videos. Thanks for watching.🙂

    Hey Dwain, so how is your hand doing now? Hopefully, you have full use of it and can create and record some new memories, which yours truly awaits with anticipation! I can just imagine how warm it is there now in south central Texas. I learned to fly in north central Texas and it was hot enough this time of year. Fortunately, all of my instruction and check ride was in January and February. But that was a lifetime ago. Still, aviation today is exciting. So many developments.

      Hi C Starks, well, my hand is doing great now and I have achieved nearly full use of it. Yes, it is very hot here in my part of Texas but we try to make the best of it. Thanks for watching.🙂

    This is Rex. Just watched your rib video. When I get back from AirVenture in the second, I would like to come by your shop. I will probably have a lot of pictures for the second Saturday meeting.

    I was all a wonder about when u use titebond III and T88 during a wooden aircraft build...? Any good insights besides the direction on the sides of the bottles?

    I was thinking about the gussets and I got a question people been arguing about the grain for years. What if you put the greens horizontal on one side of the rib and vertical on the other side of the rib. I hope that's not a stupid question. And sorry if it is.

    • @19Cub
      @19Cub  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Paul, there is never a stupid question. You could do that with the gussets as you suggest but to tell you the truth, when building ribs for a Legal Eagle, Cub, Corben, Pietenpol, Cubby, etc, it just does not matter that much. The loads and stresses are not of that great a consequence. Now when we talk about aircraft such as the Pitts and their hybrids then yes, gusset grain direction should be taken into consideration. Now that being said, any gussets that I will apply will have the grain orientation running as I have suggested in my video as a matter of good aircraft construction practice. Thanks for watching my friend. 🙂

    Just askin a "why"- no arguments just ur incites. Priority locations for T88...kinda thing(and when u use TITEBOND III).
