Now I don't know if Gravel planned that little tap on the lapped car or not or if momentum made him do it but regardless..when he split those two cars that was one hell of a move in a open wheel car. Nicely done David. 👍
Attended this race, and watching the first flip, I believe what kept him safe is that he didnt hit the wall while flipping. Would love to see the track install a catch fence around the entire track and not just the frontstretch, if they can obviously.
You have to realize if there is a catch fence this would just bounce the car back into oncoming traffic where it can potentially be hit by multiple cars. The wall is not the only dangerous thing out there, other cars are as well. There have been many drivers who flip and land roof facing traffic and then get hit in the top of the cage. There is not clear cut answer when it comes to cars flipping, at least in my opinion.
I wish World of Outlaws would stop racing at places without catch fences. Jason Johnson in my opinion wouldn’t of passed away if he had hit a catch fence and stopped, instead of flipping into billboards. Pure stupidity, cars these fast need to have a safe track to race around.
Pretty sure the billboards didn’t kill him. I think the way he hit the wall hurt him a lot worse then the billboards. If anything they are what slowed him up and made it less viscous.
Anyone else notice that when the did they Lincoln and Williams Grove videos and the Posse whooped them that they didn't show the victory lans for Rahmer or Dewease? Alsways seems that when the Posse beats them they conveniently forget the victory lane celebration.

It needs to be mandatory, if you're going to run these big touring events at your facility have the necessary safety features in place
