      Thanks Becki, the amazing thing about the rocks is we just had a short walk from the parking lot and the rocks were there, just loose on the ground! I was expecting to have to chisel them out from the side of a hill!

    Absolutely enjoyed this every aspect of this video! I've been wanting to work more geology into my bonsai through suiseki, but most of my collection that are large enough for root over rock are limestone based. I do have some igneous based stone from my time at field camp in college, but nowhere near the amount of texture as the stones you collected. Keep up the excellent work with all of your videos and I'm always looking forward to your next upload!!

    • @TheBonsaiZone
      @TheBonsaiZone  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it is a form of limestone, I tried looking it up, but there are a lot of different types of stone in that area!

  • @Liisa3139
    @Liisa3139 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The rocks look volcanic. I thought those were typical of your area before you mentioned "the ordinary rounded ones that look boring". I must say I was a little offended by calling the ordinary rocks boring. Well, I'm not a bonsai person and I happen to like ordinary rounded rocks. There are so many colors in them. My yellow sedum has been the big joy of this summer. It is flowering beautifully and it looks great between the rounded rocks. They like each other and they are not boring at all.
    Yes, watering rocks looks crazy. As if you believed that they grow bigger that way. :D

    • @TheBonsaiZone
      @TheBonsaiZone  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry Liisa, poor choice of words, rounded rocks do look awesome with the right theme! The rocks with all the textures and features tend to look more like miniature rocks and can give a planting a better scale value!
