Really, this is the first ever Glamlite collection or product I have ever bought. I am a diehard KISS fan, grew up on the band thanks to my late mom who was also a diehard fan. Her taking me to see KISS was my first concert, and there were many more from there. I went to see them on my own several times on their End of the Road Tour. I really wish they released this collection while they were still out touring, cause it would've been fun to wear this makeup to their shows. But I still bought this collection to celebrate the band and all the memories. I will be seeing Gene Simmons perform a solo show in Buffalo this summer, plus seeing Ace Frehley a couple times, at least.
Update: I've since heard that the bags that are NOT lenticular come included in collections, but bags like this are not included, so that makes sense. STILL.
Omg Linda at the beginning of the video I was sick with panic because last night I ordered the pallet and the makeup bag and I usually love their shadows lol I’m so relieved now haha I’m definitely part of the kiss army that’s why I didn’t wait on a review I was afraid of not getting my two items lol I wanted to get the mirror and bases hopefully they will still be available in a few weeks so I can save up for them. I agree with your sentiment; it's either the FULL collection or it isn't, and if there are exclusions then it's NOT the FULL collection and they should make it more apparent
I agree that it’s not the FULL collection. And it’s on the company to communicate each individual collection. For example, you shouldn’t have to go into ordering knowing that Glamlite includes bags in the full collection UNLESS their lenticular! As a marketer, this is just a silly assumption. Still love Glamlite and that they offer the ability to purchase PR style kits.
Glamlite is still a small brand, and the ultra custom bags have totally different lead times when they're trying to stock them. The non-lenticular but super cool Tiff moto jacket was also on its own timeline. That being said, the word "full" is not my favorite...they should just call it "PR collection," maybe.
Glamlite definitely has 2 formulas for shimmers. Palettes like the first Scooby doo ones, cookies and cream and even the Ghostface one were creamy and very sparkly but then there’s ones like this, Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street where they are fine but nothing special. So now I’m trying to make sure I only buy ones that are the better formula unless I’m buying for more of the packaging anyway.
Is there a way to tell which palettes have the better formula before buying them? From what I have heard the Betty Boop palette has the better formula as well, so I have patiently been waiting on that one to go on sale. I have been debating on getting a couple others as well when I get that one, but I really want to avoid getting any of the ones that don't have their better formula.
It’s really more of they just have 2 different formulas and I’m trying to get better at trying to identify which it is before I buy from now on. I could tell this was not the creamy, very sparkly formula. If you like the scooby ones, the latest Hersheys one like cookies and cream palette and the chocolate one were good ones. Ghostface was good too.
Both eye looks are great, but the red one is especially rad. You may not rock red eyeshadow very often, but you really should! It looks incredible on you, you super freaking rockstar! 🤘
I'm thinking the full collection orders got mailed out right away, I only ordered the palette, bag and lip kit so I think individual items need more detail with packaging, the Betty boop collection also did not include the bag in the full collection.. so I wasn't surprised with it not be included in this collection. But I'm going to Vegas soon so I really wanted this bag for traveling.

Was super psyched to see this palette; my awesome gf ordered it for me for my upcoming bday. I know you often get what you pay for quality-wise, although I’ve had a few cheaper palettes that got more use than more expensive ones so even if this Kiss palette was so-so, being a fan of both makeup and Kiss, it was a no-brainer for me. All the same, I checked for video reviews and of the very few I found, yours was by far the best and totally awesome. Yes, that's the thing! I see red shadow in a pan and it scares me - and then I try it and love it! And that's good to know about the Betty Boop mascara, considering how much I liked this one.
I did the same thing but I went and ordered it shortly after realizing that. I also bought the PR box and bag for my sister for her birthday. This collection embodied KISS so amazingly. Probably the best collab I've ever seen.
If they had changed out the blues for a yellow/orange row I might have been in. But, overall it is too midrange to dark for me. I am still eyeing the lipset.
I did what you did. I was on the site at 0800 and had my order in before the other items loaded on the site lol. My order is still in transit-I live in Canada 🇨🇦. I might order the bag I'm not sure...I do wish they would have also done a black lipstick to keep with the theme. I like both of your looks! Thanks for sharing! 😊
Oh you are SO RIGHT. A black lipstick would have been perfect! I did see Glamlite put out a Reel where someone used the black base as a lipstick, but I would imagine that would have been drying.
I have dark brown eyes and red and pink eyeshadow makes them pop. So yes I love wearing red eyeshadow/liner, even if it makes me look like I’m a lil stoney bologna 😂😂

Fun names, excellent palette color story (it reminds me of old school Urban Decay). I love all the Role Models representation, because the mix of KISS and LARPIng will never not rule to me. Everytime you said “Black Diamond” I sang “Out on the streets for a living….” but will admit I sang The Replacements’ cover version because I’m an indie rock hipster Minnesotan through and through. I love KISS, so I had to buy the palette! It's still in the mail, but glad to hear the quality is good! I love green, so I knew the Peter Criss (Cat Man) row would be excellent! I'm sure the other rows, Ace (Spaceman), Paul, (Starchild) and Gene (the Demon) will work well too! I think the colors in this palette are based off the original four members of the group, hence, no yellow, etc.
I got this for my mom and I thought it was included too and she was so upset about not getting it! I agree it shows it in the picture and I didn't see where it said it wasn't included!
I love the red lip on you! Yeah it probably won't go with all the colors but it is pretty on its own. I think my palette will come tomorrow. I plan on pairing it with Heather's Resurgence palette because I think her shimmers will really compliment the Kiss palette. I'm also relieved that you like the formula. This is my first Glamlite purchase so I was kind of nervous lol.
Absolutely loved your review. I do like KISS but I don’t wear these colors much in the palette. I certainly do hope Glamlite gets more rock band collabs. I would be so stoked to see Motley or Def Leppard or a Pink Floyd but with different colors in each collab although it’s probably hard not to do red black and white in each palette. I think that red, vampy eye is stunning in you. I like the color story of the palette. I was intrigued by the bases. I was thinking the white base might be good under pastels, and neons. I use the mascara primer, Subversion, and Perversion mascara, from Urban Decay. It's a nice duo, and they have the brush type bristles, instead of the rubber ones. So I was curious about these. I was the one that asked you about the bag on IG, because I had seen in their IG post the bag was sold separately. I figured that was going to be something you'd want. 🤗
I like the lip liners they make. Happy you had fun. This collection isn’t for me and I already have black and white bases, a red lip kit from them s well as two of the Scream mirrors lol so I can skip this one. Hoping for a Springish collection as I have so many deep collections already.
I grew up listening to dad’s KISS LPs. I even did a WoW cover song of Beth (yes, hi, I am that type of nerd). When they announced this I was so excited! Set my alarm (several times as the countdown on the site was incorrect), and tried to buy the palette, but it didn’t show up for me. After 45 mins of frustration I managed to trick the website I was in the US and it showed me the palette, but didn’t let me check out. I wish they would have let us know palette only would be US exclusive 😢 I’m guessing maybe the palette will come to Monolith in EU, but I feel like maybe I have gone off the idea now, I’m not sure 😔 But you look stunning in this ❤ 🤘🎸

Love KISS My older brother that passed in 86 was a huge fan. He had the MEGO dolls. I was Gene Simmons for Halloween at about 4 years old. One of those vinyl smock costumes. I’ll always have a soft spot for them. I just wish u heard more glam rock at dance clubs. ❤ They needed a stronger silver!

I liked the color story for this palette and was considering getting it (when it went on sale) but now that I've seen it in action, I think it's a little too dark for me and I'm going to pass. Might give the white/black bases a try though, since I can see those being useful.
The red DID stain my lid (after being taken off with makeup remover and washing my face), but only until I washed my face the next morning. It's gone now, less than 12 hours later.
I love the looks. But, i feel like i could get similar results with the freddy collection. Im passing this collection due to that. I am interested in the eye bases though.

I feel like since I have the original 2 Scooby Doo and the green nightmare on elm Street palettes that I have a lot of the colors in this palette is at least close enough. It's pretty though

First, thanks for the review. I like both eye looks on you. I was thinking the green look was favored, but from a side profile, the red look really compliments your hair nicely. However, the tone of red lipstick that Glamlite picked for this collection was a color I feel didn't fit the KISS vibe. It would have fit a more neutral look or classic black smoky eye. But, for the reds, greens, blues, & purple eyeshadows, I would have most preferred a black lip, or even a dark blackened maroon red, or both colors as a lip kit. Regardless, enjoy your new KISS collection.

You can clearly see the greens on your lid and that they are different. I mean that green eye didn’t even need mascara and eyeliner it is that good. Granted it’s not just the product it’s also the talent behind the look. I think the axe 🎸 color didn’t pick up so well is because it is the exact mix of that pink shimmer and black. I agree they needed at least a shimmer yellow. It can be mixed with red to get orange. It is just needed to brighten and add just a bit more dimension to all the colors. Try a sponge applicator for that white shimmer. It works like a finger but smaller. My favorite color is red, but those blend out pink, and I prefer berry or orange leaning. I would love it if the reds were more like the lip color. So this time I prefer the green. They are both stunning though.
Usually when I get awesome swatches and i get so excited about using the palette, it usually sucks with a brush and vice versa. Swatches don’t always tell the truth. This collection is beautifully done and I am interested but am on a no buy
I purchased this palette when it came out. Unfortunately I've only used it once‼️🤦♀️ been in a bad funk lately and I have to desire to play with makeup.😢

I would definitely be peeved about the bag. It shouldn’t have been included in the picture of the full collection. When you’re excited about something, you very rarely read the description fully. Or at least I don’t. I love the palette and will be purchasing it when it comes to Australia. ….. in about 5 years. 🙄. I definitely agree it should have had at least an orange included. With the new FDA rules, Glamlite might be using less red in their palettes. I've held off on ordering this palette because I feel like the colors are so similar to their Nightmare on Elm St and smaller Scooby Doo palettes.
I can see the similarity to Nightmare on Elm St for sure - but I don't think it's similar (personally) to the smaller Scooby Doo palettes. Those shades were definitely brighter and less grungy. (I could also be weirdly biased because I'm mildly obsessed with those lil palettes, hahaha)
I am not a KISS fan, I did like both eyes, I did not likr the red for the lipstick, at least not with those eye shadows. I usually love red lipstick, I am not sure if this red color doesn't suit you or if it's the color of the eye shadows. I feel a darker burgundy would have suited you more.

I have to know, do people in PR get asked to demo a red and green look, or is that a comfort to most makeup reviewers. I see palettes with really broad ranges and hope for inspiration on more unique colors, but then so many give red and green. They look great, just hard to convince this palette when so many offer red and green.
Is the lipstick really warm toned when applied? I'm just asking since I have a few lipsticks that look warm toned from the outside, but once applied they look cool toned. :) So, that KISS lipstick would catch my interest if it really is warm/brown/brick red leaning when applied..? ❤
Idk, regardless $100 is alot. So it pisses me off when brands don't stick with the same formula. It's inconsistent. On the swatch pictures on the website they look fantastic. I haven't tried the pallet yet. But hopefully I have a positive experience
I’m not a Kiss fan, at all (I don’t dislike them, but I can honestly say I couldn’t identify any of their songs, in spite of being 50 years old 😂), but the color story appeals to me, so I picked it up along with the eye bases. As much as I love their lip products, I have an abundance of reds I already don’t wear nearly enough, as I’m a Bartender, and reds are just too high maintenance for me…
The blue, green, purple, and red eyeshadow shades represent the colors used on the covers of the 1978 KISS solo albums that each of the four original members released simultaneously. Google KISS solo albums and you will see each member had that color used in their picture on the cover; Ace Frehley (blue), Peter Criss (green), Paul Stanley (purple), Gene Simmons (red). I hear all the mention about how it should have included a yellow/orange/gold and I think maybe they could have added on a fifth row to the palette, named "The Fox", with these colors in honor of the late drummer Eric Carr; Who joined the band in 1980 when Peter Criss left the first time, until his death in 1991.
I was disappointed when I saw the colour story of the palette - to me it looks like an amalgamation of their recent horror-themed releases and not something I'm looking to add to my collection. I might still be interested in the bases. P.S I love red eyeshadow 😊

Patrick Ta definitely puts out some great products! I feel like they are more known for their very neutral makeup, though, which this is absolutely not. 😂 But I swear by Patrick Ta brow products especially!

When I think of "slutty nude", I think of the bombshells of the 90s: Pam Anderson, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, etc. They would always wear a smokey eye with a big, plumped up, nude pout. Aka Slutty Nude.
The palette is appealing to me. But I just can't bring myself to buy anything from that brand because everything is an IP. It makes me feel like it's kids' makeup.
I used to feel the same way, but I’ve gotten myself to look past it after seeing reviews on the Mikayla collections (I’m not a fan of Mikayla at all, but the palettes are admittedly very pretty), and I honestly just fell in love with the formulas… For me, it was mainly all the foodie collections that they did in the beginning that turned me off…
I can absolutely understand that. I would give them a try if you can though - maybe a friend has a palette you can play with? The quality is VERY, VERY good.

Nothing can beat the first scooby do palettes for me from Glamlite, I’m glad I passed on this one. I hope glamlite returns back to the other formula

As a fellow KISS fan, I love it! But I agree that the lipstick should have been a cooler-toned red.
I did wind up liking the lipstick, but agreed - I prefer a blue-based red.
Makeup brands seem to stray away from cool toned products because they dont look good on darker skintones
Red eyeshadow is my favorite! I talked myself out of this palette because I had so many other reds from glamlite.
I love, love, LOVVVEE the look of red shadow on people! I wish it didn't stain me like it does because it's so pretty.

Oh you are SO RIGHT. A black lipstick would have been perfect! I did see Glamlite put out a Reel where someone used the black base as a lipstick, but I would imagine that would have been drying.
I have dark brown eyes and red and pink eyeshadow makes them pop. So yes I love wearing red eyeshadow/liner, even if it makes me look like I’m a lil stoney bologna 😂😂

Fun names, excellent palette color story (it reminds me of old school Urban Decay). I love all the Role Models representation, because the mix of KISS and LARPIng will never not rule to me. I love KISS, so I had to buy the palette! It's still in the mail, but glad to hear the quality is good! I love green, so I knew the Peter Criss (Cat Man) row would be excellent! I'm sure the other rows, Ace (Spaceman), Paul, (Starchild) and Gene (the Demon) will work well too! I think the colors in this palette are based off the original four members of the group, hence, no yellow, etc.
I think they were probably also going for cohesion… A yellow, or even a gold, would have been too jarring, especially since it’s 4 monochromatic rows.

I love the red lip on you! Yeah it probably won't go with all the colors but it is pretty on its own. I think my palette will come tomorrow. I plan on pairing it with Heather's Resurgence palette because I think her shimmers will really compliment the Kiss palette. I'm also relieved that you like the formula. This is my first Glamlite purchase so I was kind of nervous lol.

Absolutely loved your review. I do like KISS but I don’t wear these colors much in the palette. I certainly do hope Glamlite gets more rock band collabs. I would be so stoked to see Motley or Def Leppard or a Pink Floyd but with different colors in each collab although it’s probably hard not to do red black and white in each palette. I like the color story of the palette. I was intrigued by the bases. I was thinking the white base might be good under pastels, and neons.
I use the mascara primer, Subversion, and Perversion mascara, from Urban Decay. It's a nice duo, and they have the brush type bristles, instead of the rubber ones. So I was curious about these.

I like the lip liners they make. Happy you had fun. This collection isn’t for me and I already have black and white bases, a red lip kit from them s well as two of the Scream mirrors lol so I can skip this one. Hoping for a Springish collection as I have so many deep collections already.
After trying this one, I can totally see myself getting their lipliners again.
I grew up listening to dad’s KISS LPs. I even did a WoW cover song of Beth (yes, hi, I am that type of nerd). When they announced this I was so excited! Set my alarm (several times as the countdown on the site was incorrect), and tried to buy the palette, but it didn’t show up for me. After 45 mins of frustration I managed to trick the website I was in the US and it showed me the palette, but didn’t let me check out. I wish they would have let us know palette only would be US exclusive 😢 I’m guessing maybe the palette will come to Monolith in EU, but I feel like maybe I have gone off the idea now, I’m not sure 😔 But you look stunning in this ❤ 🤘🎸

Love KISS My older brother that passed in 86 was a huge fan. He had the MEGO dolls. I was Gene Simmons for Halloween at about 4 years old. One of those vinyl smock costumes. I’ll always have a soft spot for them. I just wish u heard more glam rock at dance clubs. ❤

I liked the color story for this palette and was considering getting it (when it went on sale) but now that I've seen it in action, I think it's a little too dark for me and I'm going to pass. Might give the white/black bases a try though, since I can see those being useful.

The red DID stain my lid (after being taken off with makeup remover and washing my face), but only until I washed my face the next morning. It's gone now, less than 12 hours later.
I love the looks. But, i feel like i could get similar results with the freddy collection. Im passing this collection due to that. I am interested in the eye bases though.
I do think the NOES collection was the most similar one to this, so if you already have that palette, you might be able to skip this one.

First, thanks for the review. I like both eye looks on you. I was thinking the green look was favored, but from a side profile, the red look really compliments your hair nicely.
However, the tone of red lipstick that Glamlite picked for this collection was a color I feel didn't fit the KISS vibe. It would have fit a more neutral look or classic black smoky eye.
But, for the reds, greens, blues, & purple eyeshadows, I would have most preferred a black lip, or even a dark blackened maroon red, or both colors as a lip kit.
Regardless, enjoy your new KISS collection.

You can clearly see the greens on your lid and that they are different. I mean that green eye didn’t even need mascara and eyeliner it is that good. Granted it’s not just the product it’s also the talent behind the look.
I think the axe 🎸 color didn’t pick up so well is because it is the exact mix of that pink shimmer and black. I agree they needed at least a shimmer yellow. It can be mixed with red to get orange. It is just needed to brighten and add just a bit more dimension to all the colors.
Try a sponge applicator for that white shimmer. It works like a finger but smaller.
My favorite color is red, but those blend out pink, and I prefer berry or orange leaning. I would love it if the reds were more like the lip color. So this time I prefer the green. They are both stunning though.

Usually when I get awesome swatches and i get so excited about using the palette, it usually sucks with a brush and vice versa. Swatches don’t always tell the truth. This collection is beautifully done and I am interested but am on a no buy

I can’t remember the last time I used a mascara primer. I can never be bothered making sure I cover all the white.
This one surprisingly went on nice and smooth and wasn't TOO white.

I would definitely be peeved about the bag. It shouldn’t have been included in the picture of the full collection. When you’re excited about something, you very rarely read the description fully. Or at least I don’t.

With the new FDA rules, Glamlite might be using less red in their palettes. I've held off on ordering this palette because I feel like the colors are so similar to their Nightmare on Elm St and smaller Scooby Doo palettes.
I can see the similarity to Nightmare on Elm St for sure - but I don't think it's similar (personally) to the smaller Scooby Doo palettes. Those shades were definitely brighter and less grungy. (I could also be weirdly biased because I'm mildly obsessed with those lil palettes, hahaha)
I am not a KISS fan, I did like both eyes, I did not likr the red for the lipstick, at least not with those eye shadows. I usually love red lipstick, I am not sure if this red color doesn't suit you or if it's the color of the eye shadows. I feel a darker burgundy would have suited you more.
Yeah I don't ever wear red I think you have to be really careful with that!!
I very rarely wear it, but it really does do cool things if you have blue or green eyes!

I have to know, do people in PR get asked to demo a red and green look, or is that a comfort to most makeup reviewers. I see palettes with really broad ranges and hope for inspiration on more unique colors, but then so many give red and green. They look great, just hard to convince this palette when so many offer red and green.

Is the lipstick really warm toned when applied? I'm just asking since I have a few lipsticks that look warm toned from the outside, but once applied they look cool toned. :) So, that KISS lipstick would catch my interest if it really is warm/brown/brick red leaning when applied..? ❤

Idk, regardless $100 is alot. So it pisses me off when brands don't stick with the same formula. It's inconsistent. On the swatch pictures on the website they look fantastic. I haven't tried the pallet yet. But hopefully I have a positive experience

I’m not a Kiss fan, at all (I don’t dislike them, but I can honestly say I couldn’t identify any of their songs, in spite of being 50 years old 😂), but the color story appeals to me, so I picked it up along with the eye bases. As much as I love their lip products, I have an abundance of reds I already don’t wear nearly enough, as I’m a Bartender, and reds are just too high maintenance for me…

The blue, green, purple, and red eyeshadow shades represent the colors used on the covers of the 1978 KISS solo albums that each of the four original members released simultaneously. Google KISS solo albums and you will see each member had that color used in their picture on the cover; Ace Frehley (blue), Peter Criss (green), Paul Stanley (purple), Gene Simmons (red). I hear all the mention about how it should have included a yellow/orange/gold and I think maybe they could have added on a fifth row to the palette, named "The Fox", with these colors in honor of the late drummer Eric Carr; Who joined the band in 1980 when Peter Criss left the first time, until his death in 1991.
I love how much thought and detail went into this collection for sure.

I was disappointed when I saw the colour story of the palette - to me it looks like an amalgamation of their recent horror-themed releases and not something I'm looking to add to my collection. I might still be interested in the bases.

The palette is appealing to me. But I just can't bring myself to buy anything from that brand because everything is an IP. It makes me feel like it's kids' makeup.
I used to feel the same way, but I’ve gotten myself to look past it after seeing reviews on the Mikayla collections (I’m not a fan of Mikayla at all, but the palettes are admittedly very pretty), and I honestly just fell in love with the formulas… For me, it was mainly all the foodie collections that they did in the beginning that turned me off…
I can absolutely understand that. I would give them a try if you can though - maybe a friend has a palette you can play with? The quality is VERY, VERY good.
