I know there are two sides to every story, but I was an RPM sub for about 3 years, and roughly 8 months ago I unsubscribed. I hated any time Fran was on screen and talking. The "smartest guy in the room" attitude was very off-putting and I didn't care for the way he interacted with you and the others. I was also annoyed that he flat out refused to ever dyno/tune your ls swapped BMW. Crazy to work at a place that literally specializes in LS stuff and not be able to enjoy any of that for yourself. I'm hoping for the best for you, and will continue to sub. Now file for unemployment, it will be so sweet to think of the meltdown that cry baby will have when he gets the notice.
I unsubscribed too because I got the vibe Fran was a bit of an asshole and didn’t want to give him anymore views. He’s an excellent tuner but I would hate to deal with him as a customer.

Steve, as one door closes many others open, great talent always rises to the top eventually. Even though it was a bad experience lets look at it on a positive note, and thats is that due to this job people got to know you more and your skillset. Definitely appreciated your film style for each of the builds. Not too dull or too hyper, good criticism, and indeed an enjoyable level of banter with the techs. Always noticed the amount of camera angle effort and attention to lighting. No idea if you wanted to find another automotive shop or move into some branch of car culture, but HPJ Performance in southern Illinois has just moved to a huge new shop, building a fresh website, and tried out a few youtube videos. They're big in the NMRA events and might be interested in a dedicated content creator. Either way, best of luck!
I took my CTS-V there for a tune and it was pretty F*ed up. Had to take it back for corrections, and Fran was an asshole about it. I ended up going to Tune Time to get it done right. What a difference! The owner actually listened to me, and fixed all the mess-ups on my previous tune. New customer for life.

@@MilesHolt, funny thing is that Mike is usually the complete opposite of what he said. He put up with so much crap from Andy who was basically learning on the job with Mike's stuff. He was so restrained in his videos and could have really exposed Andy but never did. He's a stand up guy.

Just found you after watching some of the new stuff at the other shop. Owner seems like a breath of fresh air compared to Fran! I'll be honest and say I need to get the heads done on my C6Z and wanted to do the other mods while it's open. Seriously considered bringing the car to RPM, but between Fran's attitude and having sticker shock on their pricing, I decided to keep looking around for another shop. Subbed here and to the new shop's channel, best of luck and I think this entire thing was for the best in your case!

The 'work' at RPM was done by what was easily seen as good people. Having fun, joking around, pranks, etc., are all part of working with a group of like-minded people. I cant remember the video, after discovering RPM and adding it to my 'when Im free 2 watch list'.. enjoyed it. Out of no where I began to spot assholish behavior and slowly began to skip over RPM videos. Im glad you got out,best of luck brother. Will watch all your content.
Changing subject a bit, I’m really glad you are focusing on yourself more. Seeing the way you take photos of cars and how you edit them to really make the subject stand out always made me want to pick up a camera and start shooting! I really hope I can learn more about photography and videography through your channel. There’s a bunch of photographers out there that take great photos, but your style of shooting is unmatched! I'm glad I saw this video prior to taking my vehicle to them. I'm big on treating others fairly. My fuse isn't a long one, so swinging on someone would've come pretty quickly. Hopefully, you'll find a much better setting going forward.
Just remember when you work for a company you are disposable. The only way to truly be free is to work for yourself. You are talented and will do well. You also can be in front of the camera which not a lot of people can do.
When I first saw the title of the video, I thought you were kidding. Caught me off guard. You have witty way about you and that’s what made your videos so good. You had a lot of knowledge and a good memory. I liked when you made up characters and played them like it was another person - hilarious. It made the channel so much better, more watchable. I didn’t know you were working in an abusive environment. Good for you for taking the high road. You come off as mature and professional. You’ll be rewarded. I used to work in a busy gas station off an expressway in NY when I was a teen. It was owned and run by two hot tempered Sicilian fellas. Pumped gas and fixed cars. Talk about ribbing and thick skin. I learned a lot about people and how to read them. But I had a great time and remember it fondly. You have experience and you’re still young - lotta time to make a good life. I have always felt like the interactions between the tuner and the camera man were cringy at best. I never got the tuner’s sense of humor when talking to the camera man. The tuner seemed annoyed that the camera man was talking to him. Same thing almost every video for years
I didn’t even know the faces to the names you were mentioning so when you speaking of Fran I immediately thought of the big bearded dude. Just from watching a lot of content recently from only owning my C7Z since September I am new to the channel. But I knew it had to be him because from just watching I could pick up he was a bit narcissistic and now from seeing this it def all makes sense. But as others have mentioned you were the biggest part of making that channel what it is.

My dad put up with being treated like shit at his career most of his life to provide for his family. When we grew up and moved out he was finally able to leave and it’s been amazing to finally see him happy. This change is definitely for the better. Good luck.
Yup most people's response is "just leave" it's not that easy when you have a family to support and bills to pay. Sometimes you have to suck it up to do whats right... but sometimes it also gets to be too much.

Started watching the channel after a friend of mine had his car done at RPM. Always enjoyed watching the video’s. I’m a Ford guy, but appreciate all manufacturers. I enjoyed the content and the funny intros. I think you did an excellent job! Sorry you had to go through all that. Looking forward to your videos on this channel. I agree with that. His attitude came across on camera that he doesn't care. I've heard of rpm but only became visually aware of them because of bsaint. No one deserves to be talked to like that. Any other industry that has an HR department...done. Businesses have zero tolerance for that. As an owner, you set the example. Went to their fb page to figure out why no videos had been posted lately to find this. Not a surprise with a lack of pay for weekend events. I'm sure that the video quality will suffer on their part. I tried to talk to Fran at ls fest a couple years ago and was belittled by him for no reason. Couple hours later saw Eric and he apologized for the way Fran was. Eric was a lot better business man then Fran. It was at that time I unsubscribed.
He always seemed so pompous and like a jerk and you could tell in the videos he didn’t treat you with any respect and he was never wrong. Good Luck with your future endeavors.
i loved the channel and flew home every wed,fri , to watch and decided to do my c6z build with them, 1 phone call to bill and he did not have time to talk, very short on phone and said he had no time to talk about a 20 grand build so send a email and well see, lmfao.... the more i watched the channel the more im glad bill did me a favor ,you and the techs are the only thing they had going for them . they do have a real friendly dyno anyway that gives nice scores lol , i also thought fran was the best but after a little research and talking with other tuners and the im jesus best ever attitude that most have i went to private tuning classes to learn myself , its not easy and takes time to learn but having hp tuners with you and knowing how to use it is priceless! im ride or die with ya steve ! i seen this coming, hope to see you at the absolute auction at RPM ...cant wait!
Glad to see you leave. How a business or owner treats his employees says a lot about them. I had no idea that was going on! No wonder why those other guys left. I saw the Facebook post where they asked for a new TH-cam person. That doesn't happen out the blue. Totally glad you left bro, always keep your dignity. That was what you call a hostile work environment. 💯💯 I won't support their business anymore. The other thing to take away is learn from this experience and never work at a place again where this happens.
In regards to your lunch break issues contact the labor board about not being given lunch and breaks. You’ll be surprised how much has to be paid per violations.

I called there to talk about a possible build for my z06, just asking some basic questions about it and stuff, talking like $7k+ of possible work...Bill acted like he had no time for me, acted like he was annoyed that he had to talk to me and answer some questions...I must say it was a pretty big turn off
You gotta understand bro they have a lot of subscribers etc💁and on a daily basis they get 100s of calls about potential builds but their rates are online etc You can email or message Fran and he will message you directly😂
You have zero idea what it's like for this guy, he gets thousands of calls with people always asking how much how much and these calls never turn into jobs. He probably would rather talk to the people who are ready to spend the money and money it the last thing they are worried about, cant say that I blame him.

Never work somewhere that won’t pay overtime. You will always be taken advantage of.

It’s a federal law because I’d get in trouble at work for not clocking out and still working.

Sometimes we have to rise above our situations and that you did, so congrats to you for leaving and moving on and doing you . Update: 4 different video guys have come and gone in the past year. Oh and they told “Unemployment I quit” So that answers that and you can choose to believe who and what you want.
Just found you after watching some of the new stuff at the other shop. Owner seems like a breath of fresh air compared to Fran! I'll be honest and say I need to get the heads done on my C6Z and wanted to do the other mods while it's open. Seriously considered bringing the car to RPM, but between Fran's attitude and having sticker shock on their pricing, I decided to keep looking around for another shop.

The 'work' at RPM was done by what was easily seen as good people. Having fun, joking around, pranks, etc., are all part of working with a group of like-minded people. I cant remember the video, after discovering RPM and adding it to my 'when Im free 2 watch list'.. enjoyed it. Out of no where I began to spot assholish behavior and slowly began to skip over RPM videos. Im glad you got out,best of luck brother. Will watch all your content.
Changing subject a bit, I’m really glad you are focusing on yourself more. Seeing the way you take photos of cars and how you edit them to really make the subject stand out always made me want to pick up a camera and start shooting! I really hope I can learn more about photography and videography through your channel. There’s a bunch of photographers out there that take great photos, but your style of shooting is unmatched! I'm glad I saw this video prior to taking my vehicle to them. I'm big on treating others fairly. My fuse isn't a long one, so swinging on someone would've come pretty quickly. Hopefully, you'll find a much better setting going forward.

Just remember when you work for a company you are disposable. The only way to truly be free is to work for yourself. You are talented and will do well. You also can be in front of the camera which not a lot of people can do.
I find that working for yourself is the furthest thing from Being Free.
When I first saw the title of the video, I thought you were kidding. Caught me off guard. You have witty way about you and that’s what made your videos so good. You had a lot of knowledge and a good memory. I liked when you made up characters and played them like it was another person - hilarious. It made the channel so much better, more watchable. I didn’t know you were working in an abusive environment. Good for you for taking the high road. You come off as mature and professional. You’ll be rewarded. I used to work in a busy gas station off an expressway in NY when I was a teen. It was owned and run by two hot tempered Sicilian fellas. Pumped gas and fixed cars. Talk about ribbing and thick skin. I learned a lot about people and how to read them. But I had a great time and remember it fondly. You have experience and you’re still young - lotta time to make a good life. I have always felt like the interactions between the tuner and the camera man were cringy at best. I never got the tuner’s sense of humor when talking to the camera man. The tuner seemed annoyed that the camera man was talking to him. Same thing almost every video for years

I didn’t even know the faces to the names you were mentioning so when you speaking of Fran I immediately thought of the big bearded dude. Just from watching a lot of content recently from only owning my C7Z since September I am new to the channel. But I knew it had to be him because from just watching I could pick up he was a bit narcissistic and now from seeing this it def all makes sense. But as others have mentioned you were the biggest part of making that channel what it is.

Yup most people's response is "just leave" it's not that easy when you have a family to support and bills to pay. Sometimes you have to suck it up to do whats right... but sometimes it also gets to be too much.

Started watching the channel after a friend of mine had his car done at RPM. Always enjoyed watching the video’s. I’m a Ford guy, but appreciate all manufacturers. I enjoyed the content and the funny intros. I think you did an excellent job! Sorry you had to go through all that. Looking forward to your videos on this channel. Any other industry that has an HR department...done. Businesses have zero tolerance for that. As an owner, you set the example. Went to their fb page to figure out why no videos had been posted lately to find this. Not a surprise with a lack of pay for weekend events. I'm sure that the video quality will suffer on their part. I tried to talk to Fran at ls fest a couple years ago and was belittled by him for no reason. Couple hours later saw Eric and he apologized for the way Fran was. Eric was a lot better business man then Fran. It was at that time I unsubscribed.
All too common, I had people who were friends with him for 30 years all tell me horror stories about him and I by they are no longer friends with him.

i loved the channel and flew home every wed,fri , to watch and decided to do my c6z build with them, 1 phone call to bill and he did not have time to talk, very short on phone and said he had no time to talk about a 20 grand build so send a email and well see, lmfao.... the more i watched the channel the more im glad bill did me a favor ,you and the techs are the only thing they had going for them . they do have a real friendly dyno anyway that gives nice scores lol , i also thought fran was the best but after a little research and talking with other tuners and the im jesus best ever attitude that most have i went to private tuning classes to learn myself , its not easy and takes time to learn but having hp tuners with you and knowing how to use it is priceless! im ride or die with ya steve ! i seen this coming, hope to see you at the absolute auction at RPM ...cant wait!
Glad to see you leave. How a business or owner treats his employees says a lot about them. I had no idea that was going on! No wonder why those other guys left. I saw the Facebook post where they asked for a new TH-cam person. That doesn't happen out the blue. Totally glad you left bro, always keep your dignity. That was what you call a hostile work environment. 💯💯 I won't support their business anymore. The other thing to take away is learn from this experience and never work at a place again where this happens.
In regards to your lunch break issues contact the labor board about not being given lunch and breaks. You’ll be surprised how much has to be paid per violations.
If a person could be like that out in the open you can only imagine what happens at home.

I called there to talk about a possible build for my z06, just asking some basic questions about it and stuff, talking like $7k+ of possible work...Bill acted like he had no time for me, acted like he was annoyed that he had to talk to me and answer some questions...I must say it was a pretty big turn off
You gotta understand bro they have a lot of subscribers etc💁and on a daily basis they get 100s of calls about potential builds but their rates are online etc

You have zero idea what it's like for this guy, he gets thousands of calls with people always asking how much how much and these calls never turn into jobs. He probably would rather talk to the people who are ready to spend the money and money it the last thing they are worried about, cant say that I blame him.
