    The yellow pulley is upside down, that would cause the over-running clutch to not engage the shaft. Just flip the yellow pulley and with a bit of luck, that will fix the problem on the cheap!

    • @tlookingfora5336
      @tlookingfora5336 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Agree, comparing red to yellow and the spacing and the bolt down plate - one of them is upside down. I would tend to lean towards the yellow one as being incorrect. Check diagrams and address before running.

    There is a big difference between parts that cost a lot because they are hard to get ( High quality well build antique parts) vs parts that cost a lot because they can't keep them in stock because they are breaking all the time. If you put money into a part and get 20 years out of it. Then it's cheap. If you buy a high dollar part every couple to few years. That always cost more. Have a great weekend FF! See ya!

    That governor spring is easy replacement no pulling cub down, get new spring grind down the curled ends a little , put a string on the bottom end feed down past crank pulley hook top of spring where it goes, pull on string and using a screwdriver work the bottom of spring into its hook total time to replace 5 to 10 minutes
    How do I know my cub broke that spring a few years ago and found the fix on a chat forum saved hours of work stripping down the front end

    I would think it has a bearing lock collar, that holds the shaft in place. Set screws sometimes get loose, lets the shaft slip down alittle, so the shaft / pulley lock keys don"t engage. I don"t know, maybe something to look at.

My 59' 560 gasser has a 2250 Mount O Matic on it. Perfect match even though the manufacture years are quite different . You can disconnect the loader in about five minutes and hit the field. Nice replacement for the 400 you have. Good Luck and happy hunting.

That sounds a whole lot more exciting then taking it to the dealer. Besides if you fix it yourself you’ll know what you did and the old will outlast the new every time.

      My grandfather had a 1964 LoBoy with a similar belly mower. He mowed a hundred acres of nursery twice a year. He was a 32 degree old timer and ran with the deck angled like that. The leading edge would shorten the grass/brush and the trailing edge would bring it down to finish height. Final pass was level deck. Nobody wants to be downrange if that mower strikes a log or rock.
