ADM-3A Part4

This is the last in a series of videos in which I repaired an ADM-3A vintage dumb terminal. We just take a quick look at its image displaying ability.
This video is intended for anyone with a genuine interest in vintage computing.

I use emulators of old computers. And they also emulate a terminal. I've tried lots of 'm. However, I've never seen one of 'm for real. Therefore I love video's of the real thing on TH-cam.

There's one for sale near me for $80, but the crt is badly cracked. Very interesting old terminal!

Did you record typing on the keyboard? If not, that was a wasted opportunity. That was the only reason I was here lol

@@JerryWalker001 absolutely! that is the most interesting part of the terminal because it is how people interact with the computer system. also, that particular keyboard was used for creating vi which still has those choices felt today and were chosen because of the keyboard layout. I know it isn't your thing, but check out Chyrosran22 for reviews of old keyboards. I wasn't expecting anything that in depth, but was hoping for a little love to the keyboard.

Yeah..... using a terminal emulator doesn't have the right feel.... would love, at least, to have an old non-PC keyboard. But that an a real CRT display would be delightful.

Cool Retro Term approximates the effect, but it really doesn't replicate the experience.
