Here, in the current lecture, column chromatography is used to isolate pure compounds from natural sources, where a hydrodistillation system is hired to extract EO from plants, but steam distillation is utilized to purify solvents. in conclusion, nice work but we need details for each one separately

However, I get overwhelmed and intimidated when I think about being a high school dropout. I really don’t know where to start. Where do start from? Where is the beginning for biology and chemistry? Hello! I am currently doing my research in plants. I have extracted it with ethanol extract and already airdried it. However, it contains chlorophyll and I am trying to remove it using a separating funnel with non-polar solvents. But there is a lot of confusion, can you explain how can I remove chlorophyll without destroying my active constituents in ethanolic extract also which non polar solvet is best or if there is any other methods.

Hi. Based on your experience, which method produce the highest amount of extract per extraction - decoction, Soxhlet or maceration? I lose most of my product after rotary evaporator so i think the lowest amount of solvent n only drying under fume hood is probably a good choice. After watching this video i found you obtain a lot of powder after freeze-dried. What do u think? Please help me.
