Thank you. The Cyan color was missing on my HP6978. I followed these steps and the color came back on the fifth cleaning. I thought I was going to have to buy a new printer. But Kevin came to the rescue.

Thanks Kevin. I've been test printing for a day and finally the cyan is showing up very lightly but it's a new cart so keeping fingers crossed it comes back normal.

Hello, my problem is the clogged cyan but I have another problem, there is an ink spill where the ink tray is at rest, on the right side. My printer is only 5 years old, it is from the HP 6978 series. Is it better to replace it, what should I do? THANKS.
Perhaps I waited too long as I'd been without the ability to print blue and therefore no colors for ALMOST 1 YEAR, so we just resorted to printing only in black ink. Now, I've finally researched/decided to try this remedy before buying a new printer. Unfortunately, even after 4 of these deep cleaning attempts as well as sliding the printheads over wet paper towel pads and running an enormous amount of Clean Printhead cycles, and working on this for about 5 days, the blue just won't print! The blue doesn't even show up at all, the cartridge report states it's almost empty, but I weighed it and it's actually the FULLEST color cartridge, and again it's new. At this point, is it possible that it's a technical issue and not mechanical, since it's computer can't detect/read ink even though it's a full cartridge? I heard you state in your video you've been able to revive printers that have been unused for years, but I'm starting to lose hope. Can you help? Thank you for your excellent, well-explained video I've learned a lot already!
What a great video!! Question tho, what if the colors are looking like its mixing together? My final green box has a strip of yellow through it that won't stop. Im still working on the full cleaning from your video though. Maybe it will go away?
5:22 Weight of full cartridge 25g I knew I heard this and it's been hard to find. Very good information so I've noted for the masses. If Kevin or someone else knows, please reply: HOW MUCH DOES EMPTY WEIGH? Or, how low before must refill?
Hi Kevin, I have just replaced the new black ink cartridge to my printer, but can't print anything in black. I don't have the printer maintenance function for my HP Office Jet Pro 6978. Can you please give help me, thanks.
This isn't working at all for me, unfortunately. It's not showing any blue or pink ink, no matter how much I clean it. And I never stopped using the color ink, either, it just stopped working. :(. Guess I will buy a new printer.

Thanks for subscribing! I think the dry is 19 to 20.
@@BCHTechnologies that seems right. I got 2 down to 18g, so that is probably damaging to the sponge inside

Need to buy a new printer, what do you recommend. I've bought Epson in the past.
I will go with Epson EcoTank series. Canon and HP are bubblejets and their printheads aren't suitable for tanks.

Sort of. Is ADF (automatic document feeder) important to you? The ET-2803 doesn't have it.
