SUPERGIRL is an action-adventure drama based on the DC character Kara Zor-El, Superman’s (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Twelve-year-old Kara escaped the doomed planet Krypton with her parents’ help at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex, and learned to conceal the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret. Years later at 24, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant. She works alongside her friend and IT technician Winn Schott and famous photographer James Olsen, who Grant just hired away from the Daily Planet to serve as her new art director. However, Kara’s days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw, head of a super-secret agency where her sister also works, enlists her to help them protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats. Though Kara will need to find a way to manage her newfound empowerment with her very human relationships, her heart soars as she takes to the skies as Supergirl to fight crime. Based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, SUPERGIRL is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Supergirl has one of my favorite casts. They are so cute, they have so much chemistry and they seems like the sweetest people in the business. I'm so happy Hoechlin is now part of the team.

I personally enjoy this cast more than the arrow cast. I still like John barrowman though.

melissa's voice cracking while saying doesn't fell nearly as brave as Kara has a whole different meaning now and that's so heartbreaking.. i'm just happy she eventually found strength to leave that ~situation and also be able to talk about it. she deserves nothing but happiness and support.

When Jeremy & Mechad repeatedly drink out the same bottle of water without hesitation you know these actors are pretty tight and have become a family. Love the chemistry they obviously all have and can't wait to see how these characters mix it up on the CW in the Flarrorwverse! I want Winn and Kara to meet Cisco and for Diggle to met J'ohn J'ones!

i thought it was kinda rude that the fan was like "your version is not exactly like the original" to mehcad, i mean you could've asked the question without pointing it out idk..

well it's rude to change the appearance and personality of a character
+deadbatass gaming Lol. It's not rude because they're fictional. Jimmy Olsen can't have his feelings hurt because he isn't real. The actor, however, is not fictional and is very much real. And like he himself said, the character was created during a time period when the vast majority of characters were all white because it was still seen as the default in fiction. People are always quick to defend something like Leto's version of The Joker by saying it's a different take on the character, but the second a character is depicted as black, that's suddenly when we should start "sticking to the source material." You see the same thing happening to the Iris West character now (people complaining she'll be Black in the movie).

+deadbatass gaming you have to undersrand that a franchise has to evolve to represent the world that we live in. when you view representation as "rude" and you are defending someone who is being rude to the actor, an actual human being, you are so transparent!

cesariacaetano I was a very lame kid and I used to love the fact that Jimmy, as lame as myself, could be friends with the best superhero of them all. So I think it's a very important image to have in a comic book.

Honestly, I can't wait to see Melissa and Tyler working together as the super cousins. This certainly will be one of the best shows of the new television season.
Melissa's laugh is infectious.

It's just Flash and Supergirl but that has to be my favorite episode in the whole Arrowverse. Like, you won't believe how many times I've seen it 😂

What question did you ask?
My question was: Since they brought in the Omegaheadron, (Which was created for the 1984 movie only and was never ever seen in the comics). If they wer going to show Supergirl's Hometown :Argo City
Argo City is where Kara is from and which survived Krypton's destruction by being hurled into space under a dome
However in the 1984 movie, The city exist under the water and is powered by the Omegaheadron.
+Argocity2006 Yeah dude it was a really great question the only problem was that lots of times actors are just there to act and don't know much about the lore of the show they're on. Sometimes they do such as Grant Gustin and how he catches up on Flash comics in his free time and it's really great to see how much he knows. That's why she was like "Where's Greg Berlanti when you need him" because he would've been able to answer your question or at least know what you were talking about. Don't worry about it!

I'm a big fan of Tyler from when he was on Teen Wolf. I've been a fan of Melissa since she was on Glee and I've been a fan of Chyler since she was on Grey's Anatomy.

They were so nice, I love how everyone laughs whenever Jeremy does a joke lol and his answer to the last question.
I think that comic book movies and TV shows make the BEST casting decisions. The people here are so good at their roles and have really like able real life personalities.

Give me Music Meister on Supergirl! I miss hearing Jeremy, Melissa and Chyler singing! I also want Greg Berlanti to resurrect Laura Benanti for singing dream sequences JUST for that episode.

Why when asked "Original Jimmy is not exactly like the Jimmy on the show",Mehcad assumes it's about him being black?
Being black does not make you a *different character* ... Original Jimmy was a nerdy geeky guy, James on the show looks and acts like he was one of the jocks in high school. Different characteristics different characters ... Nothing to do with race.
the person who asked it kinda hinted at being black not the personality even tho you're right and i feel the same way, i prefer the original personality (that's the kind of characters i love most) i think that's why i orefer winn he's more relatable and fun to watch james is a bit too serious but like mehcad said it kinda fits the envirenment he's in

TheWolverine1984 i agree with you, i watched smallville and winn is more like jimmy than james , their mistake was to change both the race and the personality, like with iris they just changed the race that doesn't matter at all to me but if they change both there would be a problem, actually changing the personality is the problem because i'm sure if they casted a white guy and gave him the same character traits people would react the exact same way, just look at how people call oliver queen on arrow "the green batman" (or on the originals they recasted the actor playing kol and changed the personality at the same time the writers got huge backlash for it) i think it's just people who get easily offended, i see a lot of people using that as an excuse to force people to like what they want like "if you don't like westallen you're racist" no i could not like the ship for reasons outside that people should just not throw away accusations left and right without a valid reason

I think the closest possibility of the Supergirl cast singing on the show is if they get drunk at a bar that happens to have a karaoke machine. I don't think they should make a entire episode into a musical because the original music written for musical TV shows usually sucks.

Hoechlin does kind of look like Jesse Metcalfe, doesn't he? And I think he'll do it justice, although nobody can really be sure until we see it for ourselves.
He did good. I don't know who else noticed, but the voice he used in the show was quite similar to the way Kirk Alyn sounded in the first live action appearances of Supes in the two '40s serials.
