4:37 be very careful when cutting audio like this, because having a clip ending on high volume and the next frame starting on low volume (or vice versa), MAY cause your audio to POP, or CLICK in the transition. IF that happens, look for an audio effect called CONSTANT POWER (I use Premiere), and drop it between the two audio clips. Mine are 3 frames long. That'll fix the popping sound.
I dont normally watch these, appeared in my home screen and had a watch. Some good things here, some I've worked out on my own over many years and others, reminded me of something I forgotten. Thanks for the sound pack!
I love how quickly you got to the point. Very helpful stuff with no unneeded fluff. I'm still a tiny youtuber, but these vids help a lot. Thank you man.
Thank you so much Marcus. Your content is top notch and not filled with flowering words but actual data. This is so helpful for small channels. Thank you for not saving the information to then end of the video :)
A video explaining the different types of cuts and how to use sounds effects would be amazing. I've been mastering this stuff on my own with research and you just told me what I've spent at least a year figuring out
This video is 200% better than the "a former TH-cam employee talks about how to grow a TH-cam channel!"....... because this one is giving all the hacks that big channels we love and watch use. Thanks Marcus
I started TH-cam April 2019 in the Diamond painting community, grew to 1000 subs by July 2019… I remained on TH-cam consistently until 2021 and grew my channel to just over 10K subscribers… Now in 2024 I want to do a comeback but not just in Diamond painting, I want just be a crafting channel… I am nervous to start though in fear of failing as my editing skills sucked but thanks to this video I think I may be able to edit better then I did before… Thank you
One thing that almost put me off this was that it takes me longer than what you cite, but then I realised you are giving a formula in a very rudimentary way, so as to begin all kinds of best using what you have… you may as well try a little harder at the beginning because everyone is still there at that point. It’s well put.
MARCUS ! Thank you so much for the free sound effects !!! just wanted to say that now back to the video...i'm about half way through it.. be well -Sick
Hey dude! Thanks for the amazing content, could you please share what do you use to draw these graphics, they are amazing for educational content. Thanks a lot in advance!
I’ve recently started my channel and one thing I’ve noticed is the more you interact on TH-cam the more viewers you receive. So whilst the quality of the beginning of the video is important if you’re a small channel the focus should be on getting the video out and commenting/liking across other channels.
I was editing my vlog when I got a notification for this video I had to pause my editing and come here to learn. Thank you so much. I have learnt a lot from this video
This is what I was waiting for! A video that takes multiple advice and puts it all into one video. And explains things a bit different than the rest. I was getting the tired of the same advices being recorded multiple different ways. But not saying anything new. Thank you! Massive thank you!
@@Marcus-Jones Thank you! I’m nearly 4 years in. Struggling but making small gains! And it’s thanks to you and many others in your niche you mentioned here in your video! I appreciate your work! Thank you again!
The thing about text in the way of the title is.. when you're brand new, you've no idea the title is going to cover what you've written until it's been uploaded! Poor newbies don't stand a chance.. thankfully we live and learn, and have videos like yours to help 😊
Can I add something I just discovered while editing my 1st video I haven't seen done before that I think is a really good idea... If you're using stock video, to avoid it looking generic and boring try to find some animated blip packages online. find blips in the package that are similar & that you like, then color code them to create a unique personalized color style you can use in all your videos (bright purple, red & black etc) and then add them to all stock footage in the future and, sparingly, to the footage of you. This way when people watch your videos they wont lose focus when it goes from you to generic footage because it will feel branded as part of your video theme or style. It also forces you to think about and create a color theme or aesthetic for your channel.
Normal speaking pauses are in 1/4 of a second increments. A normal comma, 1/4, a period 2/4, emphasis pausing and be anything up to one second. Which if you work in a FFS evenly divisible by 4, like 26, then it's super easy to time your pauses.
8:32 - The amount of space on a short that is covered by the title & channel text is WAY bigger than you make it out to be in your graphic. I would say pretty much the whole bottom third of your TH-cam short is going to be the title & channel info. So, realistically, you should move your subtitles to below your chin in a talking head video. Just try to get it close the center of the screen without being in the way of the video portion.
Love the video, I've been making videos for about 10 years and only have around 100 subscribers :) but with help from videos like this I'm taking my editing more seriously
Music is one of the most important parts of my videos. I can't record things again as they're vlogs, but I can do a lot with editing and music. That's also why I spend around 20 hours on editing a 10-15 minute video... (only to usually get 10-30 watch hours 🙈.... i literally spend more hours on creating the channel than people watching it)
I have a suggestion for your next video. should we restart or rebrand our channel. We upload our personal videos on our channel. Assuming we finally wanna become youtuber and assuming all of the personal video and livestreams we uploaded have no strike. Should I just restart and create a new one and just private the previous old videos? Will it get considered in YPP application? Or rebranding is much better
Bro, I need your help. My last videos aren't getting more than 200 impressions. What does that mean? I tried to start a new type of content, and the first video got +200k impressions, but the others were so bad. Is the thumbnail and the title the problem?
Editing is slow and very time consuming, I focus on editing the start of the video but by the half way mark Im already fed up and just rush through to the end.
I’m just so tired of recording a video then a few minutes to an hour into the edit I feel like I’m salvaging the video rather than making one I think I’m just not doing enough planning. But I feel like I’d spend so much more time than I already do making a video if I did
guys if you are a youtuber your a story teller so that means you need to edit as good as like a movies and then believe me in your first or second video you will gone blow up because youtube mainly fouceses on (click thorough out rate) and (average watch time)
Hi Marcus is your course suitable for niche other than gaming as well? I think my niche is not that complicated as gaming niche. I just want some steps to boost my subscribers and view time. Thank you. I believe that you are a great teacher. ❤
Just here to say thank you Marcus. You’ve helped me reach over 1k subs and I did it in only 12 videos 🙏🏾

yeah Marcus spittin knowledge
Very useful content. Editing cam seem lke such a mystery to noobs.
2:05 me with all of the transitions in this video especially in the beginning
Just keep focusing on your content! If you keep making content you yourself enjoy then somebody else will discover it one day and like it too
What software are you using to show the keystrokes in the lower-right? I’ll do some digging, but figured I’d ask.

I definitely need to work on my hook. That first 30 seconds are crucial. Cause my retention drops to 35% instantly. Thanks for the info.
You got this!
3:16 I just spit coffee out of my nose. Is it because you’re hilarious or because I’m sleep deprived? Yes.

Quick Question to Marcus/Marcus's team - is it some 50 hushtags you have in your description? Just asking because others suggest 3 hushtags
Thank you
Your video is inspiring
The whoosh really made me laugh every time.😂
What editing software do you use?
jajajaja agradecido con los consejos y sonidos pero ese Cat MEOW es una persona maullando XD
3:14 There are two Nates, that meme clip. Very funny bro 😂😂😂

It seems like one of the best ways to be a youtuber is to be a good viewer.

what editor do you use?
The sound effect download didn’t work for me, is it supposed to be sent to my inbox or what, cause I did it yesterday and it still hasn’t been sent.
"Hits and kills a random pedestrian." is actually wild...
Sincerely wishing all to reach the big 1000 subscribers goal soon :)
Nice video
Editing is slow and very time consuming, I focus on editing the start of the video but by the half way mark Im already fed up and just rush through to the end.
thx for the pack :)
Robert's tips helped me go from about 400 subs to around 6,000.
I'm only clicking because the first timeline is literally my workflow.
I’m just so tired of recording a video then a few minutes to an hour into the edit I feel like I’m salvaging the video rather than making one
I think I’m just not doing enough planning. But I feel like I’d spend so much more time than I already do making a video if I did
Does Ed have a sound effects pack that I could use as well?
Tell that to Max0r. 🤣 His video editing is alien-like but inspiring. I'm going to video edit my next video in his style for fun.
i hopei cant get to 1k soon im trying my best ty marc for your help
What do you use to edit with AI?
guys if you are a youtuber your a story teller so that means you need to edit as good as like a movies and then believe me in your first or second video you will gone blow up because youtube mainly fouceses on (click thorough out rate) and (average watch time)
"editing should be a supplement to the video" me who makes edits:
My poor brain thought you and Robert Benjamin were the same person. I hate it when that happens 😅
Best algo TH-camr in the game
Hi Marcus is your course suitable for niche other than gaming as well? I think my niche is not that complicated as gaming niche. I just want some steps to boost my subscribers and view time. Thank you. I believe that you are a great teacher. ❤
Do you edit other peoples videos if you do how much do ya charge 🙏🙏
