One way to understand various Konyak tongues that seemingly are different from one another is to change the consonants, while keeping the vowel sound the same. For example, the word for "Sky" used in villages in central part of the district is "Yangkang". However, this same word is spelled and pronounced differently in other villages, including Wakching, whose tongue is used as the common tongue. Here the word "Yang-Kang" is pronounced as "Wang-Dang". Notice the change of the consonants "Y" and "K" to "W" and "D". Similarly, the spellings for most other words undergo this same change. If we figure this out, it's quite easy to understand our language. The tongues spoken in central part of the district (chi, mon, Sheanghah, Tang, shang, longwa , tizit area etc) and till Arunachal Pradesh is almost the same and mutually intelligible. And upper area villages have mixture of words from both central and wakching area villages.
