How do you think the mass production of synthetic AI with human-like movements will change our society? Will the increased productivity and workplace efficiency be able to outweigh the negative effects of millions of people potentially losing their jobs?
....not much, because just for the few mega-rich people and in factories. So more people become poor for losing their jobs... sadly. I love AI and robots, but because of human greed they will not be there for everyone who needs, wants one e.g. as a companion, as help, when you are disabled. Sure they’ll increase productivity and take jobs from humans. But how are these different companies plan to sell their products to consumers when humans won’t have jobs. No jobs, no money, no consumers equal bankruptcy. Answer that question for me.
Here's the answer. Step 1: Remove the middle class using robots and AI. You now have only the rich and the poor. Say 1% wealthy, 99% poor. Step 2: Give the poor just enough low cost resources to keep them from rebelling (i.e. UBI). Low cost but multiplied by mass production (remember the poor will be 99%) equals a windfall for the rich. This model is already in effect to a certain extent given that the USA is 5% of global population but controls 50% of the global wealth. Step 3: The rich buy/sell/trade amongst themselves.
Given the current AI advancements, I have no doubt that realistic androids will be indistinguishable from humans when they walk among us daily. We must realize that in a couple of years, there will be no boundaries between fiction and reality. It'll be a reality 2.0 where AI and androids will take over. In 2025, everyone must move to TH-camrland.
Jobs, at least the way we look at them today, will no longer be necessary. That is, jobs that require physical labor. Humans will most likely do work that has to do with the humanities (i.e. music, art, creation, spirituality, politics, engineering, architecture, etc). Humans will have to be supported by some kind of universal basic income that is supported by the extra dividends make by the production of the robots. If implemented correctly we could be going into period of abundance that human kind has never known.
