Going with Pinnock + Andersen myself paired with a bit of a gamble in a Forest + West Ham GK rotation. I have Trent so didn't fancy Quansah especially as Liverpool have so many cheap assets this year to triple up. Cheers for the stats as usual.
They're a very safe DEF duo. I don't particularly like the Hammers defense last season and preseason + Forest keeper situation is up in the air though looks like Sels right now. You could reverse them for safety (Emerson + Murillo, Henderson + Flekken) but again I don't really fancy the West Ham backline and the fixtures are bad.
Solanke now jumps to 3rd-5th in the top striker rankings to start the season for me. Depends if you think Big Ange will stick him in the lineup from GWK1. Son is a better option for it as Solanke will provide more clinical finishes for Son's passes and more of a pivot for him to play off. It does mean Son LW now though.
Love the content as usual, great stats you have calculated! Really like the idea of getting Quansah to cover liverpool for those first two fixtures and then getting a nailed defender to rotate him with from gw3 onwards considering Konate might take off minutes. Would you consider the 0.5M to updgrade Greaves to Davis worth it for that Quansah rotation?
Thanks! That's a great question. I think at the start of the season that 0.5 can be used better elsewhere as no way you're playing The Leif first 2. But after that and medium to long term, Davis looks very interesting and worth the 0.5 easily. It's dependent on Ipswich's ability to defend in the PL. If you're looking to wait to WC then Davis but if you foresee an early WC and Quansah solidifying the spot then Greaves. Greaves' issue is his yellow card record!
@@speardrops thanks for the reply! I am gonna try to be more patient for once this year with my WC (as I am very impulsive and tend to use it early lol) so I think I'll take Davis from the start, bench him first two gws, and then unleash him. Doughty was amazing last year (even if later on) and I feel Davis really has similar aspects that can be key to replicate Doughty's output.
Great video man. I'm personally on Mykolenko and Robinson due to my lack of risk appetite, despite Quansah being appealing. Love getting into a Sean Dyche defence whenever I can as well.
Cheers! They're two quality picks. I am swaying towards Quansah currently though usually I am in the low risk, high floor category for picks. There's lots of safe options if you don't fancy the Quansah gamble. It really is a great price bracket this year.
Another great video, so so informative as usual. Lots to consider, I'll definitely have 4 defenders in this price range, likely 3 at 4.5 and 1 at 4.0, so I'll need to make some choices. Because Areola's coming back from the Euros, I kinda want to cheap out on GK and play Fabianski at 4.0 million, but I don't think I will, unless you see something there. Keep it up!
Thanks! West Ham's defense, fixtures and new manager put me off. Especially as a solo keeper with no rotation. I think 3 x 4.5, 1 x 4.0 and a premium will be very popular and wouldn't talk you out of that.
@@speardrops Porro is my “premium”, if you count him as that. I guess 5.5 for a defender probably is a premium. Feeling super good about the options at 4.5M and so I think it makes too much sense. Rotating defenders based on who has easy fixtures always seems to work for me.
@@sixwar7912 At 5.5 Porro is premium for sure. At the minute I am favouring a 4.5 over him but it'll be rough not owning him for the first two. After that his fixtures are poor for CS potential. Rotating DEF this year looks particularly good. Normally there's only a few good 4.5/4.0s.
You could really cheap out and go 3 x 4.5 + 2 x 4.0 with Barco + whoever fits your red fixtures. I think 4 x 4.5 + 1 x 4.0 is very viable this season given the lack of premium defenders to start the season. Most are injured or late back.
Looks like Kluivert is on pens. Better 5.5s for now. I think it will boost Son's potential a little though he will be playing LW. Semenyo a nice option later in the season if BOU don't sign anyone.
Finally a FPL schizo with style, liked & subscribed
😂😂
Appreciate the effort you've put in to these videos dude, really helps a lot.
Spearman......I found you by accident during the Euro's. You provide really good strategic direction & options. Appreciated.🇿🇦
Thanks! Lovely to hear. Fun game that one, shame about the final.
Will be you be posting a draft mate? Love to see your thinking on structure, premium defenders etc
Amazing stuff. Well done

looking at Robinson/Konsa though 😅

@Irishpitterrier right now out of those two I'd go ESR. But his first game is not as good as CHOs...
