I really like building as well but I also like flying them. Really nice heli for the price. This video reminded me of a puppy running back and forth along the fence looking for a way to get out. "Just look "UP" Lol :-)
First flight - or first flight in a small area? I am thinking I would not have kept it in the air so long on a first flight - I would want to check what is getting hot - which I am thinking some thing would if the gearing, head speed and pitch curve were not dialed in to a fine precision? I guess you know what you are doing - it sounded sweet and true. Is the head speed on the low side of the equation? People have said " Don't make it your 2nd or 3rd build - so I am making it m first. :) I also noted the goodly distance between it and its operator.
Ralph Latham Hello Ralph ! I love building helicopters more than flying :-) I think I have built and adjust more than 50 helicopters. I am not so good in flying but when I build a heli, the first adjustments are perfekt. The same to this helicopter. I don´t need to change settings. I think I have golden hands in building and setting helicopters :-) But I am not a good pilot as well ! The head speed was on normal mode 1600,idle 1 = 1800 and idle 2 = 1900 ! Distance for so big helicopters save your life !
I just purchased this Assault 700 kit looking for tips on the build. Appears you're using all Align electrics. But original gears. What size pinion gear? and what size tail blades?
@@OlliPaddelflieger This is what I have so far. 120amp YEP ESC /motor = Xnova 4030-2.5y 560KV, 12 tooth pinion, Align slant cut gears [for main auto rotate and tail] , 115 mm tail blades, cyclic servos KST BLS815, tail servo KST BL805X, .. am I on the right track? My thought is with a higher KV motor to use a smaller pinion. Best motor I could find for the price. No screws turned yet. I'm open for suggestions. I'm new to electric heli builds and flying of this size.

Olli Paddelflieger The first thing I realized about learning helicopter - you need to like fixing at least as much as flying! :)

Gruss Björn

How much did the whole system cost?
+felixthemaster1
Hi !
About 500-600 Euro.
+Olli Paddelflieger That is really not bad! Replaced any parts with ALIGN?
+Olli Paddelflieger Mit ALIGN Servos?
+Aiborepair
