Wow the rates fall major i remember Houston to Katy use to pay 1500 one way when landstar was dealing with them before they had their own trailer ( i was doing two a night) and that was without having my own authority 😮
@@brandonjay_gotem there alot of one way trips in that area. You want the load board refreshing all day. Amazon like to move at night between 10p-4a. Loads will pop up in ur area. If you see one way short distance it's empty trailer cuz the circle is empty. Those are money easy to do. Fridays people cancel blocks that will pop up on load board for you to schedule next week. I say anything above 1.80 is fair.

So when you look at the $200 loads that pop up there may be enough for you to make is short amount of time. So do not over lap times when you book it won't let you assign driver to it. It you overlap on a time and cutting it closer to another pick up near by you have 30 minutes to assign yourself as driver before it can effect you performance score on the disruption free section . My 2 cents if it works run the truck 24hrs if you can
The longer the contracts sits the more they raise it. Distance varies. Has always been under 500 mile round trip since I started last year. Some days could be longer some shorter. Amazon is good at running up the clock on you

If you have cash truck you may be able to survive. But insurance gets people. Large deposit large monthly payment. If you can't find work you may struggle. If you think you ready and can handle it then go for it. But if your stomach can't handle the fact that it's hard to find work, you may just give up on yourself.
Amazon is hitting its drivers harder. Van freight is way down across the load boards as i understand it. A refer driver I know says his company has hime driving all over tge place trying to set up to pick up loads. A lot of deadheading.
If you got something that doesn't include pulling over 40k lbs and keep it under 15000 lbs that doesn't break your truck please share. I know there are other things. I'm just trying to not break my truck.

No they made that a requirement a few months ago
They took me with new authority right away last year
