This is the best live version of this song I've found. Considering it's my favorite song of all time, you're right in guessing this ain't the first live rendition I've seen :)
how anyone could leave a show like this with dry eyes is just unthinkable. the Magnetic Fields are one of the only groups that can drive me to tears; and i do not tear up easily.
Does anyone have a video of them playing Take Ecstasy with Me when they came to raleigh? The power went out right in the middle of their song for about 10 seconds and they kept playing the entire time and were right on cue when it came back on. That was amazing
@jeremydbrooks It was sung by LD Beghtol who is very talented himself. He also sung My Sentimental Melody,Roses,The Way You Say Good-Night,Bitter Tears and For We Are the King of the Boudoir on 69 Love Songs.
Stephin Merritt: the greatest songwriter of the past 20 years? This song, like so many other songs by him, is simultaneously poignant, arch, hopeful, cynical, ridiculous, hilarious, inspiring and pathetic.
@SuperMoominMama Hi, you can download this video and remove the audio, there is a lot of softwares that you can use to do that, if you need help, please let me know. Take care.
@@cotafloata Thank you for the information.Unfortunately, their information is not very available in Japan. Please tell me another one if you like. Is there a CD with "All My Little Words" on her vocals?
I'm seeing them tonight, sixteen years later to the day.
Thankful for the guy with the camera for managing to cover this like a champ.
lol
A once-in-a-lifetime songwriter.
Technically every songwriter is this though 😂
This song became an Instant Classic the very same day the 69 Love songs album was released.
Never in my life will I ever write a song as beautifully instrumentally or lyrically....

@jeremydbrooks He didn't sing it on 69 love songs either.
Claudia Gonson. *sigh*
The unboyfriendable line doesn't really work with a female singer... love love this song
of course it does. she could be singing to a male partner who is, well....unboyfriendable
Exactly.
