    Keep giving us honest down to earth reviews as you always do! No company puts out perfect bows everytime. So many great bows and bow companies out today. Thanks

      @@jw-vx8im I shoot a Bear cruiser g2. It's my main hunting bow.
      I also still use my Bear whitetail 2 for recreational shooting.
      I also hear great reviews on the Bear Alaskan.
      Best of luck! And hope this helps.

    Thanks for reading the comments and having another crack at this bow, i appreciate your time and effort to do so. Would it be possible to test another basin out of the box to just check if this was a one off that slipped through quality control or if there is an issue from the factory with this model?

    I love elite, for myself as i buy the flagships. but for my two boys???? i got one of them the ember and it was nice, till now, outgrew it and I refuse to just buy a bow and have it shipped to me. REALLY appreciate you. Elite should as well, take criticism and fix the next bow. They really need to start carrying a camo in some of these, at least one. geez

    Wow you really went above and beyond with spending all that time fixing Elites mistake. I have two Elites and its disappointing to see that more care wasn't taken. My Elites are much pricier models, but you can't sell a beginner a bow that is so messed up! Shame on Elite and kudos to you! 👏👏👍👍👍

      The Envision that was straight out the box 5 minutes and shooting. I would say the top end Elites are good. The Basin is just sensitive at the end. The Basin comes set at 25" so I guess at 25" it was fine. I think the issue comes from the longer draw and the module design. The Terian which I will release tonight had no issue. Straight out the box easy.

      It's also a good reason why I would want to go to a dealer if I get a compound. You can can get help to adjust things there and if it still isn't to your liking you can go to another model and se if you like it better. In this case you might opt for a more expensive model.

    Hey Steven, Did you consider using the yoke twists to achieve smaller amounts of cam timing movement?

  • @timbow50
    @timbow50 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've owned and own 4 Elites that requires removing the stops. Yes it is a pain in the ass so don't get in a rush. For a shop it's time consuming and the cost can add it up I'm sure over many bows. Personally, I really don't mind it too much as the bows are fantastic machines IMO. Very seldom do I have to press an Elite. New string-cables once in a while and then maybe once after the strings have been shot some to correct the timing. The timing has to be as exact as possible. This is important for all bows. Not just the Elite

    Wish I would have watched this review. First time shooting a bow. At my local shop the basin was all they had for me. Was having a hard time with the other bows they had at the time. After seeing your review I would have gone with a way cheaper bear bow.

    as always great review with tons of good info, the time it takes to tune would be impossible at our local shops...absolutely no way in hell they would dedicate 30+ minutes on a $500 US bow. *** do want to point out you mentioned LIMB stops several times and then at 22:55 you point to them when you talked about let off.... you are not using limb stops, they never came close to hitting the stop plate. Not sure if something is wonky or you just said limb stop when you meant to say cable stop. I know the pain of a hard to set up / tune bow.. my favorite bow ever was the Win&Win Arion but once it was time and I replace the strings/cables it never made it back to spec so I get a 5 inch + nock high paper tear, it vibrates and its not as nearly as accurate for me larger groups and my flyers are WAY out. Going forward I will have to buy my own press or buy whatever bow brand the shop is most familiar with. thanks for the honest talk on archery gear, its the ONLY channel I can find like this... some others I like and watch but clearly they have favorites and pick and choose what to give a "bad" review on or are just brand commercials parroting the marketing BS.

      We made new strings for the bow and still had a wobble. One of my customers put dloop in his and it fixed it. It is frustrating when a bow does not work. Started the TS330 video - wow this is a great bow- great cams. Finished it with never stocking this again.

    You would think as much as bows cost now days they would come in time from the factory. How does that pass factory quality control? I currently shoot Elite and I think this is very lazy on Elite’s behalf. I understand it is not a flagship bow, but this is still very poor. I am very disappointed in Elite. Time for me to consider other bow companies. Great follow up review. Thanks

    • @otheropinionssuck
      @otheropinionssuck 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely something lost in translation there lol. Outside of America pretty sure everyone thinks of a sink when you say basin

    • @judefuselier
      @judefuselier 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Conversely as an American Engineer, I think river basin... Hunters out west will also refer to mountainous valleys as basins.. Steven really did all he could for this bow...
      I have an Elite Valor and has been an excellent little bow.

    • @adamkilroe9840
      @adamkilroe9840 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah, as a plumber in the UK, a basin is specific to a bathroom or toilet, whereas a sink is specific to a kitchen. I believe the same applies to anywhere in the English speaking world EXCEPT America. Yes, River basin exists, but is specified as a river basin. Some things simply don't translate. We call erasers "rubbers"... and that wouldn't translate to America well 🤣🤣🤣

    Does the nocking point change when you put twists in the cables ?

    • @ArcherySuppliesLonsdale
      @ArcherySuppliesLonsdale  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it would but only a little - twisting the cables moves one of the cams. But it would be minor. I think it was 8 twists in the end. I think the poundage dropped my reducing the draw too.

    Anytime ever that I time a camp ever ever that I time my camps I'd never go more than depending on the gap if it's a small gap I do a 1/2 return which to do one turn you don't just turn it over you turn it over then you turn it over again that's 1 hoe oscillation 360゚ I always put the twist into the one that is hitting 1st the cable that is hitting 1st gets the twist

  • @hawaiiangunner

    Let this be a lesson to you. Shoot the Bow Shoot the Bow Shoot the Bow Shoot the bow before you buy the bow!!! I don't care what the name is do not buy it until you shoot it!!! This could have been a giant cluster f for a regular customer in a regular shop. Because there is no way that my archery shop would put this much effort into making something shoot right.

  • @gibsonlife573
    @gibsonlife573 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    There is no way in h*** no way you should ever put more than a few twists into a string if you put 8 twist and do a string you're trying to push all those twist underneath that serving and it's gonna cause it to come undone exists the string is string is junk so it'll weigh if you have to put that many twist the string is junk
