I pray wholeheartedly for healing and harmony among the artists of the Bolshoi. And healing especially for the director. This is a sorrowful thing. To represent such a beautiful tradition there needs also to be peace and collegiality and most of all, love. May it be so.

Ballerina Can you elaborate a bit on her dancing? What makes it so beautiful? I have the same impression he talks about, Russians dance and are carried into the movement by their soul, while Americans seem to be to be very technical, but empty of meaning and soulless. Just my 2 cents.

The thing about olga's dancing is how expressive she is, she seems to tell a story with her whole body, and her movements are very fluid. However she is different from Svetlana zakharova( gorgeous dancer) with Olga there is some fresh and young quality to her that adds some real excitement to her dancing. She also has nice artistic expression, though I think it will intensify greatly with age and experience, overall she has a soft, lovely, and young quality to her which is simply refreshing to watch and take in.

while I love american ballet, its a bit more rough than most other countries' ballet styles, also I've noticed the schools seem to be very different. where in america is a little more laid back, other countries are very hard and strict on dancers, even at a young age they're told what to and not to eat by the teachers.

They give in fighting a different view, to throw acid in someones face is subhuman, I hope they catch the bastards who would do such a disgusting thing.

I just couldn't understand what the translator was saying. His English is really bad

Personally, can't stand Sergei. His interview was so obnoxious, downplaying all the other styles of ballet when Russian ballet was birthed from different techniques coming together.

If you are director of a company of such artistic class as the Bolshoi Ballet, you certainly can be proud of it! Also, almost all good professional dancers from all over the world are profiting of the Vaganova system directly or indirectly, which simply produced so much more top dancers than any other system!
