But all hell broke loose just before noon when the booking was set to start, with a series of events starting with the ticketing platform BookMyShow crashing for the first few minutes. When the platform was back, fans realised that they're in a virtual queue which had LAKHS of people ahead of them in line to buy the tickets. Within just a few minutes, ALL tickets were sold out, leaving most Coldplay fans in the lurch. But what happened almost simultaneously, was that many who had managed to bag the tickets, started reselling them on other platforms. The thing was -- that they were reselling them for a HUGE profit. Tickets that were originally for under Rs 10,000 were being resold for Rs 45,000 hardly a couple of minutes after BookMyShow tickets got sold out. A few MORE minutes later, these tickets were being resold for LAKHS. Despite BookMyShow's warnings, this is continuing. But are such tickets even valid? Watch

One possible way is requiring ID and Full name for each ticket purchased and charging % fee/penalty for transferring ticket, transfer option only after a certain period of time, and providing transfer option only through official platform. Considering the excessively high demand for it, people would still get around this but atleast itd deter some.

This is nothing but the black ticket wala outside a theatre. Now that most bollywood movies are flops these people are jobless. Just shows how many jobless desperate people are there in India. Who loses? The genuine Coldplay fan.
One way to curb this ticket resale bs is by making use of Aadhar card(1 ticket for one AC holder) for Indian citizens and passport ID or whatnot for foreign nationals.
Bookmyshow could've used a lottery system or something similar to give tickets. They do the same for IPL as well, I think BMS themselve is part of this as they might earn way more by hoarding the tickets and selling in black/grey

My waiting queue was 2482, and I didn't get tickets. System threw me out after 45 minutes of buffering

Book my show has managed it very badly. Not including an ID verification step in the booking process was a recipe for disaster.

They should introduce one ticket per adhaar card.
if someone purchases a ticket ,its his or her choice whether that they wanna go for the show or to give it to someone else the ticket.Just like booking cinima tickets for someone else. Just look how many people are gifting Lounge tickets which worth 35,000/- as marriage gifts to newly married couples, or just a situation where the person who purchased the ticket giving to someone else for OG price due to unpredictable inconvenience for the sake of not wasting their money .I don't think bookmyshow can make these tickets non-transferable.
