don't let them live in sand. they will eat it and get sick and die. use a reptile carpet found at most pet stores and they need a heat pad that sits under their cage instead of a heat lamp that gives off light because they are nocturnal unless you get a red or blue colored light they also have lights that give off no light but heat only.

I just recently got into lepard geckos and I'm wondering if you know any helpful tips before I go out and purchase one
