I have the supco umbrella as well & it comes in handy rain or shine. Especially when the sun is beating down during the hot summers in South Carolina as you know Ted. Love seeing a new Ted Cook video 👍🔧

Great videos👍🏽 Love that umbrella. Doesn’t catch everything cuz the size but definitely helps! Sometimes I’ve found the compressor was drawing close to RLA and found the cap was dead but still running. Or cap is bad, replace and it doesn’t change amps, And I’ve found them read ok and fluid was leaking, sometimes I’m just like 🤯🤷🏽‍♀️

Love that supco umbrella! It does make nervous to see feet in a puddle in the rain, but I know that Ted takes the necessary precautions. I keep an inexpensive patio umbrella near my 2 condenser units for relief from the hot AZ summer 🌞.

Dielectric grease for electrical connections to prevent oxidation, electrolysis, and crustiness.
Never-seize/anti-seize on fan shafts and stuff to prevent rusting and corrosion so they are much easier to remove the next time.
One thing I saw that would make an electrician cringe is the lack of a grommet where the electrical wires passed through the metal housing.

After a few videos watched on Anti DIY HVAC, I have brand new capacitors for the condensing unit and blower fan in the attic in stock and ready just in case. 33 years and both capacitors are still working on our Amana HVAC. Apparently, the industry made good capacitors the older they were made ! Many say these days you should expect a new one every 5 years. In any regard, we're ready for the most inconvenient time of the year that one fails.
5 units on that house is awesome...Initial cost is higher but its very cool to be able to use just one or two or all 5 alternating "as needed" vs. a couple of 5 ton energy hogs flipping on and off multiple times a day, if I'm correct on that. Last time I looked, the 5 ton vs. 4 ton used much more power. Much more than a 3 ton vs a 4 ton which told me to use a 3 ton with a 2 or 3 ton, not a 5 ton due to the operation cost.
This is a good video...its nice to come across a homeowner who wanted OEM parts. It's still Vietnam made but at least it fit like a glove as the original. 600 amps to power up that home? Oh my, 200 of that is likely for just the 5 A/C when they are all running at the same time ! Hope the electric rates are low, like 4 or 6 cents a kWh.

Most of us are just a fish on a chopping block waiting to fleeced. There are so many a/c companies with "specials" for seasonal maintenance. It is hard to tell the bad actors from the straight ones- thanks from a follower.
