Dude... when it comes to jack plates or finding the center for your speaker "X marks the spot"! No measuring needed! :) Great video, Josh. Thanks for sharing. I am going to build a slightly oversized 1x12 box like you did with a Vintage 30 for my new Friedman Runt amp. Friedman wants 6 bills!

Very cool video, Josh. The cab build came out fantastic! I might have to give this a shot, b'c I am looking for a 1X12 myself. This is fantastic, and your playing was excellent, as well. Great job, all the way around. Keep on rockin!'

Great video, I already got a Celestion evh speaker for 60 bucks and Waiting for the hardware. You really encourage me to do it thanks. 5 trips to Home Depot I'm that type of guy 😂

That's a perfect use of the kreg pocketing jig! Nicely done ✔️ Also, kudos for using 120v plug in screw guns. Batteries are great but the old plug ins got torque for days! I still use them all the time. Also, try Lenox TiN coated blades for your utility razor, they hold an edge a LOT longer! They have the gold edge on the blade. Quick tip, when doing the mitered corners, lay both sides over each other and cut through both at the same time, that's a surefire way to ensure perfectly aligned seams. Your construction is solid bro, bangin project 👌. I play a PRS too. Good choice. Good choice. 👍

Every gag and imperfection will telegragh through the tolex. Wood putty and round the edges!

@@jeffallen3382 wow what a comment. Maybe he’s not a genius like you but I think he enjoyed making a perfectly decent cab that’ll serve him well.

i’m making my own 1x12 cab as we speak.. i’m definitely putting caulking around the edges to keep it air tight. that’s an important step for low end.

hello great job. How do you connect the guitar to the cabinet? . Do you need an amplifier? I have a boss gt1000 and I would like to connect it directly to a cabinet. I don't know if I can connect it like this.

    • @joshconlon6629

You would need to go into an amp head, then to the cabinet out of the amp head. I believe you would need a powered cabinet such as the Line 6 power cab for example, if you wanted to go straight out of your boss gt1000. Thanks for the comment, lmk if you have any other questions

You can also get small power amps int he size of pedals. Electro Harmonix makes a few called the Caliber and Magnum that put out 22 - 44 watts. Mooer makes a cheaper option with their Baby Bomb 30. 30watts class D power for around $100. I've used them in full band settings and they totally hold their own for volume. Run the output of the Boss GT100 tot he input of the power amp, then speaker out of the power amp to the cab and you're set!

Boss gt1000 is an amp modeler already. Just turn off the CAB if you are going to plug it to a cabinet.
