@@hiimderektan916i think they mean how PD basically said "the mv was lower budget bc its only a single not an album" op was correcting that bc this is the lead single to a FULL album, which usually has more budget. I think their company thought this would be their last release and gave up on the budget for the mv
this song is such a great example that a very emotional and sentimental song doesnt have to be a ballad or a slow song in general. ngl when i first heard it i got tears in my eyes because its just that beautiful

im not even a keplian but this comeback has hit so deep for me knowing everything surrounding it 🫣 like im not joking as soon as the mv started i started SOBBING. BAWLING. UNCONTROLLABLY. I DONT EVEN GO HERE. songs like this and back to the city are so universal emotionally
This was such a sentimental track for me originally, with the original notion of this being Kep1er's last comeback before disbanding, and then the announcement of the groups continuation and their win was so sentimental. And I think that's what this track comes down to, a strong sense of sentiment, and it is amazing.
I'm glad someone said it! I hate when people say "it looks less expensive" like that's a bad thing. Some of the best music videos, historically popular ones that still get replayed today, had shoestring budgets; being lavishly overpriced for the sake of it is not a benefit when it makes little sense to the story of the music playing over it all.
The simplicity of this video makes it feel almost nostalgic, going back to that intimate feeling and simply letting the emotion of the song lead the story. Big ups to the director and production on this.
I get why some fans are disappointed about the budget but creativity matters more than the budget. Galileo had a higher budget but the MV felt like there’s very little substance to it while this MV really takes you on a journey. Every scene felt motivated and intentional and even the stock videos(?) of the galaxy served a purpose. This is Kep1er best music video because it had a specific direction AND the team executed very well.

This was one of the few MVs where the creative direction made it not feel cheap. There is thought put into this, and I'd rather a thoughtful but cheaper MV than a thoughtless expensive one.

This is just my opinion obviously... but I feel like they may have made a decision to stick to more of the choreo shots because it shows all 9 members and the thought was "With this last full 9 member group music video, we'll show as much of the whole group as possible" so that we get all 9 to the last possible second. I'm only a casual Kep1er fan, but this even made me tear up.
I really wonder if the general ambiguity of this video´s emotional core may come from the fact that Kep1er´s contract extension was kind of up in the air for a very long time. Like, as a hardcore Kepi fan I experienced MONTHS of just hearing news of "They will!" "actualy they wont!" "maybe they will??" "Nah not at all" "Discussions are still ongoing". So this song needed to work as "We managed to extend! A new beggining for us" as well as working as "Its over, this is our last one. Good bye! : )"
I wonder if "We will go form 9 to 7" was a posibility when this was being planned, and Id say it works! It accidentaly became a sendoff for Shiro and Yeseo.

I cry everytime I see a reaction to Shooting Star, it's incredibly beautiful and knowing it's the last 9 member release breaks my heart a little. Btw, it does come with a full lenght album and the bsides are amazing as usual
The MV works for me because Kep1er's strength has been their well synchronized choreo. Couple that with a song that is amongst their best releases makes this extremely enjoyable to watch. Have to agree that it is sad and frustrating that this is the last from the full nine member group. Why only now???
This is exactly what I wanted from this group from day 1.
And I believe this is what most Kep1er fans or Keplians wanted for Kep1er from Wakeone Entertainment from day one.

This comeback was insane from them! First track I have heard non fans really enjoy from them in a long time.
My interpretation of the long shots are that it gives us a moment to really appreciate them, each individual member, everything that goes into their work. All with a small budget? Kep1er shines even without glitz and glamour, like a shooting star. A bit romantic of an interpretation, but do I cry watching this video every time? Yes. It is a beautiful and moving video, paired with a gorgeous song. My favourite video from them too.
The song and mv broke so many rules, it earned a special place in my heart. Its fantastic! Their best. The harmonies at the end!?!? I tear up every damn time!!! 😅 Calling it now, this will be my most played of the year. 🎉

23:01 This! You articulated how I felt about this MV. The CG really helped push the concept. I feel like everything just converged well to make it the star that it is.
The song feels like attraction or like gravity, it’s a sense of push and pull, like it feels more intimate they trying to pull you in and in the end it feels like complete.

The only complain i have is that they could have given them the stage outfits and fit it into the mv instead of just THAT outfit 😭 its not givinnnggg, ALL their stage outfits are so much betterrrrr
i don't stan kep1er and i dislike most of their songs, but i was really struck by this one, like i'm in awe of its beauty. i could really care less about the group but somehow the face you made at 3:38 made me burst into tears. amazed and deeply sad at the same time. idk guys can i hug all of you orrr

Ugh im here sitting like a dummy trying to hold my tears while eating lmaoo. I haven't even been updated much with whats happening in kep1er but somehow they still managed to make my tear up like that. Definitely my favorite title track from them. It's sad that kep1er will no longer be complete but hey atleast we'll get to see them together for a longer time even though shiro and yeseo are gone.
This is the kind of concept I always wanted from them. I wish they had found this vibe earlier.

ahhh i've been waiting for this reaction! this comeback really had me so emotional it's hard to listen to the song or even the album without crying at some point (although don't lose your smile from kep1going is still the most heartbreaking of their releases imo). i didn't realize how little they cut in the mv which is really interesting. it's also so nice to finally hear hiyyih's voice so much on a title track. it is like they finally recognized the true power and potential of 9 member kep1er at the very end of their contract... hopefully they are doing well in negotiations and have good promotions moving forward as 7 members and yeshiro get to shine a lot in limelight... v bittersweet.

Straight line was the title track for their first full japanese album as well with so many good bsides !
As fory reaction to shooting star, I think me being a kep1er fan since debut that followed them closely and knowing Mashiro & yeseo would leave after this made me cry so hard ! I actually saw them tease the choreography on k wave stage so most of the crying happened then. But the music video still brought me to tears in the first few listens. Now I just enjoy their vocals. I LOVE youngeun's parts as well. Her parts during the song and the performance are my favorite. So glad you enjoyed this song as much as fans did. I remember ither kep1ians saying that the song felt like a combination of their bsides " Back to the city " & " together forever " from their previous albums. So it's interesting you thought of le voya9e first !
i think both things are true. in a way it's obvious that wakeone did not give them the budget but it's definitely feels like the team said "we are going to do something amazing with what we have" and they did. it feels very earnest

The most beautiful punch in the face. Everything about this song is in the title. I don't how to explain it better, but thankfully they did it for us. With what's going on with the group this track is perfect. Probably going to be on repeat endlessly and one of my personal favorite K-pop songs of all time. Top ten? Maybe, maybe not but it's a contender it just hits so hard. Kep1er needs to keep on this Straight Line and Shooting Star track though because these songs are a level up S-class type feel. So impressive.

i personally thought the mv was pretty lackluster - those shots of dayeon+hikaru and youngeun in space were especially atrocious to me. The song is so amazing it deserved a mv on the same level as the other ones :( The budget looks like it was the same as wadada and that makes me sad
the one bit i really liked was the first spotlight shot with Xiaoting+Yeseo, that was a really nice transition of choreo to beauty/mv shot
15:35 I think it's a mix of both, I don't doubt that wake one thinks "oh they are def going to start losing fans now so lets cut the budget" (not the first time they've done kep1er wrong lmao) so i think the actual team tried to do their best with what they had. Mago wasn't a disband song, there was supposed to be a continuation to the story and was previewed at the end of the mv
commenting on the low budget, it feels like a dance performance video i just hope they at least had a story going on hinting at their journey from gp999 to now it would have tied everything together!! the camera work is really good but i wish we just had a story of them for them😞
