"Leave it, leave it, leave ALL of this! I'm sure the neighbors wonder what is going on. 😂 In all seriousness, teaching tricks and rally obedience moves help keep our corgi engaged and prevent boredom on walks.
Agreed! Any sort of training builds attention and trust in your leadership! These lessons I teach are very basic and essentially the foundation for all of the other elaborate things that you can do once communication is established.
I've always had Labs. Marco is my first Corgi. I've always trained my dogs to balance a treat on their nose, and Labs are excellent at this. Freedog is the word I use to let them snag it, and if they catch it before it hits the ground, they get a second treat. It's going to be harder to train a Corgi to do this because they're so willful. At least mine is. Plus if they catch it before hitting the ground that's amazing considering how close the ground is. LOL!
It’s funny. When I shot this video, I was actually pretty surprised how bad his impulse control had become. We would be able to lay treats all over his paws and head in the past pretty much similar to the treat on the nose trick. Time to work on getting back to his prime obedience shape! 😂 If anything, I thought showing his misses will encourage others that no dog is perfect and we all have work to do.
Gandalf is 9! Dude, he looks great. What a pretty pup. He's going to be around a while, which is awesome.
Haha! Thanks! Cherishing every moment we have with him! ❤️
