The legendary CAVE IN makes a highly anticipated return with their Relapse Records debut, Heavy Pendulum, their first full studio record in over a decade. The band (Stephen Brodsky - Guitar/Vocals, Adam McGrath - Guitar/Vocals, John-Robert Conners - Drums) sees a revival following the addition of Nate Newton (Converge, Doomriders, Old Man Gloom) on bass and vocals. Produced by Kurt Ballou at God City, Heavy Pendulum showcases everything that has long established CAVE IN as one of the best contemporary rock, hardcore, and metal bands since their monumental 1998 debut Until Your Heart Stops. From the driving tracks such as crushing opener "New Reality" to the metallic edge of "Blood Spiller", Heavy Pendulum sees CAVE IN look back at their discography and capture their most memorable, visceral, and forward-thinking moments to create a record that is all at once familiar and in true CAVE IN fashion, ahead of the mainstream.
Why aren't there more comments from viewers on the songs when you click on their albums? Like literally none. It's almost like nobody's heard of them or promoting them in any way and kind of irritating
It's a decent effort and I surely don't expect a band to stay the same after a decade but so far I think Antenna is my favorite era? It had more atmosphere
It's like Cave In decided to mash together every song and style they've ever done and this masterpiece is what emerged. I can't stop listening to this song, can't wait for the record. And Nate is the only one who, in my mind, could ever fill Caleb's shoes. Welcome, Nate. Rest in peace Caleb. Cave In forever.
I'm thinking the same thing I felt when I saw y'all live a couple years ago: Nate channelling Caleb so hard, in this track especially. So ready for the full length. RIP Caleb, welcome Nate, long live Cave In ♥️
If I'm not mistaken Nate is playing Caleb's bass and has been ever since he took over. Fitting for sure. Also not to knock Nate whatsoever, but I can't help but imagine how Caleb's voice would sound during Nate's vocal parts and how awesome it would sound.
Funny how accurate the basement is in the video lol. First time I went down there I was blown away. Original master for so many classics just sitting on a shelf. Tape for everything from early converge and cave in, to ISIS, and so much more. Bad ass stuff!
prayed for 10 years for a new record. I enjoyed the last where they finished Caleb's recordings but this is what I waited for. Well worth it. 'Told you guys that shit was stupid. Later'
Total banger! Much needed in these troubled times. The Cave In under-appreciation will end with this album. They keep getting better and are amazing live!
Back when Hum released Inlet in 2020 I read that Cave In we're also working on a new album and here it is! All my favorite bands are making awesome returns
@@GrindFreshDaily yeah I have to agree I am sorely disappointed by this, seems like then gone heavier again, nothing wrong with that but I miss the progy riffs from the "Tides of Tommorrow" era of Cave in!
Possibly one of the most slept-on, underrated bands I’ve ever heard. They can go from chord progressions that make Slayer sound pussy to layering in spacey, psychedelic guitar parts in case your noodle wasn’t sufficiently baked. Don’t sleep on Cave In.
@@jeremypreston5009 to be fair, I never listened to them until about 99-00. I still have Beyond Hypothermia but the one that really grabbed was Jupiter. And I saw them open for Foo Fighters a few years later.
I was just randomly looking at my old iPod tonight and that got me on a little TH-cam stroll down memory lane of my favourite bands growing up, which brought me to this. Was (and still am) a big fan, saw you in London in Islington a few times in your heyday, and a number of other places in the uk, such good times :) Great to hear you guys and see you having fun, sounds great and gives me a real Jupiter feel. And of course RIP Caleb, gone but absolutely not forgotten
0:06 That's the Fuzzrocious pedal called SECRET C! It was JUST announced on 11/1/2022! It's a tribute to Caleb Scofield. Goes on sale this Friday November 4th~
Saw cave in live with converge at the chance theatre in Poughkeepsie NY, right around when antenna came out, That show cemented my love for them and it hasn't changed a bit! they do what they do like no other this shit is tight as fuck!!
Wow this song is killer holy shit. I love the first line. I believe he's talking about New Hampshires "Old Man Of The Mountain". NH is the granite state. I've lived here my whole life. And the Old Man is our symbol on our road signs and license plates. The Old Man Of The Mountain was a natural feature in the massive granite cliffs. Look at it from the right angle, it looked like a mans face. It collapsed years ago and crumbled to the ground. I love their sense of humor. "Does it pair well with a gonkelator?"
I see all kinds of comments here. Then you go to the actual albums, and there are none, barely any likes. I don't understand how these guys fell through the cracks when each album was a piece of art

Cave In forever.
God the last time I listened to Cave In was "Jupiter"... wore that out.... but this is fucking super good you nailed it.
God damn did I miss that guitar tone
There is a little kid kilowatt in here too.
holy shit, what a massive production.!! kurt is such a brilliant producer.
He's the one of the few producers I know by name, and I'll listen to anything with his name on it, regardless of genre
If you can't laugh at yourself, what really can you do?
I love the silliness. Best dudes, best band
Nate is the only dude who could possibly take over bass duties for Cave In. And he’s killing it!
That tone tho, dude...wow.
I’m super glad that Nate feels like a full member of the band rather than just someone they brought in to play bass.
No joke... In more ways than one. What a lineup!
Nothing likes Stephen Brodsky in Quicksand or Sergio in Deftones lol..
his grunty singing compliment's Brodsky's voice so well
I dont think they would've brought "a bass player" nate was probably the only choice for cave in, post-caleb...
#calebscofieldforever
@@marcopelaezfernandez4573 eeeeh, sergio isn't in deftones anymore...unfortunately

Kurt looks more and more like Steve Albini, as the years go on!!
Chills hearing Nate rip. Only person who I could've ever imagined carrying the torch. Cave In forever.

Alright, a new Cave In album, now I'm excited
Long live Cave in!
best part about 90's hardcore veterans is their sense of humor. this is great lmao. can't wait to hear the record

Thats what relapse records needs
Banger. Y’all passed the “go hard or go home” test. Crunchy. Epic.
Yeaaaah! Brodsky and the band is back!!! Sick !!! Childhood heroes!
Best album of 2022? Have pretty high expectations.
What a cracking return, with Nate so great bassist. Maybe a touch of early Mastodon in here.
I got early Mastodon vibes too
Hell yeah! Cave In is back, people!
This is amazing!!!! After Caleb passed (RIP) I didn't know if I would get the pure pleasure of more Cave In. Good news indeed!!!!
Nate. Friggen. Newton. His screams are the business. So thankful to have these guys back. We’ve needed you. ❤️
New Cave In means everything is going to be ok.

What a banger, jesus.
Cave In is a Top 5 band all time. Don't try to change my mind.
Heavy spacey and otherworldly!
Magic. Hardcore AF but has the Jupiter era space rock guitar. Fucking love it.
A PS3?

Tears flow down my face for this song. After Caleb's passing I thought that surely must be it for the thrill of new Cave In music from here on out.
Awesome song!
I'm looking forward to seeing you again in Japan!
Now all I need is a new Poison the Well record and I’m set!
Speechless. This is so fun, so well done. Thank you Cave In. We love you.
So glad you guys are back thank you.
you just know ballou has even scarier equipment tucked away in another basement.
This song kills! Looking forward to the entire album.
Great and rare band.

I saw Cave In at Saint Vitus back in Dec.04th. 2021. Glad I went, they destroyed. Also never been to New York. So I made a vacay out of it...
We all knew this was going to rule, but I'm just happy to HEAR it.

They weren't slept on back in the late 90s. They just kinda disappeared for a while
In case you're not familiar (though you probably are) may I recommend juggernaut and crossbearer. Probably some of their best known from that era
