+Negasilver Its funny, because Future Zelda sent Link back in time in Ocarina of Time, which lead to the future timeline having no Link anymore, with Ganon returning as he promised, but there was no Link to save the people, so Hyrule was conquered by Ganon and then the Gods banned Hyrule under the ocean of Wind Waker :D That's now Wind Waker happened!
+Ademus Alpeus Gökeus that theory is something made up by nintendo to connect all of the games. more logical reason was he left hyrule to do majoras mask.
Both Wind Waker and Majoras Mask are sequels to Ocarina of Time and it makes sense, but the Fallen Hero Timeline is just BS made up by Nintendo to connect the remaining games. The Wind Waker being a sequel was planned when it was made.
Always believed the old man who teaches you for a bit and then shows you the pit Is link from another verse or something. He was so proud when you beat the depths and even beforehand when you can go toe to toe against him. Radius from chrono cross style
4:01 "the memory of the kingdom vanished, but it's legend survived on the wind's breath" Goosebumps!!! And that song transition was top notch. This was a game well ahead of it's time and a true storytelling masterpiece
"The memory of that kingdom vanished... But it's legend survived on the wind's breath." This line always gives me tearful chills. It's such a deep opening.
The Golden Hawaiian Swordsman Dragon HIGHLY AGREES!! The lore this series has is SO amazing, it's like the narrator is the actual Hero of Time himself!
For those that wonder what the Hylian says. ""Long ago, it was said that there was a country chosen by the god’s power. The people who lived in this blessed rich land were called the Hylians, and were said to be able to hear the voices of the gods. They, together with the people of the plains, the people of the mountains, the Gorons, the people of the water, the Zora, the people of the desert, the Gerudo, and the people of the forest, the Kokiri, all carried out unique lives. Even in this rich land, the footsteps of destruction began to creep in. The Evil One seized the power of the gods, and wrapped this land in evil, and the once beautiful land fell into ruin. It was at that time when it happened. A being clad in green appeared out of nowhere, and, granted with the power of the gods, defeated the evil power at the end of a furious struggle. Peace had been returned to the land. It is said, having appeared by crossing time this person was called the Hero of Time, and became a legend in the kingdom. A time later, the kingdom that had been thought to have had its peace returned, again, had dark clouds standing over it. The one who held the evil power, who had been thought to have been sealed forever by the efforts of the hero, revived with no reason. Though the people waited eagerly for the hero of the Legend to once again appear, the hero traveled the flows of time and put the country behind him, and never appeared. With no one to protect them, evil began to draw near even the royal palace. The people, finally entrusted the fates of the entire land into the hands of the gods. Many years have passed since then, and the people who heard the words of this tale began to imitate the hero of legend, and are said to make a boy green clothes to wear as a celebration of his growth. "You who wear the green clothes. Take up the sword that emits light, and erase the malice in this world.” They are entrusted with the hopes that they will someday be raised into becoming fine people, that even the legendary hero would be proud of.:"
I'm in love with 2:04-3:22 because as they're talking about our boy Link coming to save the day and sealing Ganon away the music is triumphant but as soon as they slowly pan to Ganon coming back from being sealed away the main theme that was once so nice and calming to hear now suddenly dies out and becomes more heavy. Then 3:22 happens and hits like a boulder since everyone was praying for Link to come back but such was not the case since he was sent back in time. One of my favorite openings to a Zelda game ever and I haven't even played it haha
The Golden Hawaiian Swordsman Dragon HIGHLY AGREES! The 1st Legend of Zelda game he played was The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. When he 1st played it, he was instantly a fan forever!!

I remember when I once again played this game my father partly watched the intro with me reading aloud. First he laughed at it, finding it kind of childish. By the part of the end of the intro showing Link in the clouds, he admitted that this was some badass music for "just a Game". By now he knows how much I love Zelda Games and he sometimes randomly plays soundtracks from his Laptop of any Zelda game :D he's always suprised cause I know every soundtrack, thanks to playing almost every Zelda game :)

I was 11 years old when this game released and got this as a gift for my solemn communion (which was a big thing back then in Belgium). My parents had spoiled it by accident that I'd get this on the 'big day' and I remember looking at the case but not being able to play the game cause I had to wait. My last grandfather had just died and on the same day I got a note he wrote for me on that specific day. I still remember seeing this scene as a kid, getting intense goosebumps over my entire body as 2:04 kicks in and tells me: "Everything is going to be alright, be brave and face this storm." The impact this game has had on me, I will forever cherish this gem. ❤
Just started playing Wind Waker this Wednesday for the first time and let me tell you the intro with that violin made me cry with emotions!! A freaking game So powerful to move you 😭😂
4:01 brought a soft melancholic feel that re turns when you discover Hyrule in the game. This was the first Zelda game that truly made me feel like a hero
31 and I'll still come back here every few years to remind myself of listening to this with not a care in the world not knowing that one day it would be painfully nostalgic and make me crave my youth again. But nothing last forever. Except music. Music is a great healer, even silly little intros that remind me of being 12 again
Such a memorable introduction. It set the right tone for my first playthrough, which I needed. I was skeptical about this game 19 years ago because of its quirky graphics and the untoppable-seeming bar set by the N64 games. The music immediately hooked me. A different motif than I heard on the N64 games, yet it's part of the same recognizable theme of this franchise. Then the narrator establishes the multiverse of the LoZ canon. It relates the Hero of Time lore from OoT, yet it doesn't try to rehash it for this storyline; rather, it invites us to carve our own hero's journey with this version of Link in the same vein, which I found refreshing. It was a masterful way of acknowledging the OoT masterpiece without setting its unmeetable expectations for this game.
Thank you for this.....this was my first game ever on the GameCube along with Sunshine.....this sends me back to my 8 year old self when it came out.....what a gem of a game it was when it came out....exploration and discovery was limitless
The song for this opening will forever be ingrained in my mind. I played this game so much throughout all of my life, ever since I was an infant and all I did was just fuck around, all the way to when I finally ended up beating the game as a teenager!
best intro in a game ever! art style is great, like you reading through a book! and how the music is used, it just completely fits the mood of what is happening and then, when all hope seems lost... the original theme kicks in OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!!
This might as well be the opening scene of a Zelda movie, and I would watch the hell out of that movie! This is beautiful storytelling that I feel other Zelda games lack.
I was studying for exams when this game came out. I had been waiting years for it. I somehow managed to find enough self-discipline to NOT play it until exams were over but I watched this intro time and time again. The excitement was almost unbearable.
Game cube was the first system I ever saved my money for. This game came with my purchase. Me and my buddy sat down and played this from start to finish over a couple of days some 17 years ago. We we're both 12 at the time. Nostalgia and feels.
this was the first ever game i played as a kid, at the age of 4. this song will forever be imbedded in my mind. i remember hearing it every time i played cause i never knew how to save the game cause i couldn’t read lol. i miss the days of roaming around outset island without knowing wtf to do because i was to young to understand anything. but despite i will always remember this song, couldn’t read the subtitles but still conveyed everything through music and pictures
This wasn't the first LoZ game I played, but i was old enough to appreciate and understand the impact of this intro at the time, its wonderful to say the least. :')
I literally watched this intro a max of 5 times as a 6 year old kid when playing Wind Waker, and it was SO good that I remember every bit of it 18 years later. This game was a masterpiece and nothing will ever change that.
Can't believe Wind Waker is almost 20 years old. AlttP is almost 30 years old. And so am i, because i am just 2 months younger than AlttP. The memories. The flashbacks. The Nostalgia. Outstanding.
This game released 7 years ago?!?! Holy cow, it is one of my fav games ever. So many memories, replaying the HD really brought that sense of nostalgia.
When this came out, I remember thinking “goodbye family, friends, all connection to the real world ... I’m off on a long voyage in my bedroom with a console”
My first and favorite Zelda game. I had never heard of Oot or any other title. Played this while my family and I had chicken pox, and I was just mesmerized by the intro.
I feel like people will think I am weird for saying this but underneath the surface Wind Waker is actually quite sad. A Kingdom gets completely flooded, buried and is gone. Never to return again.
I really think the reason why he didn't return is because after the events of Majora's Mask, the hero couldn't find the way out of the Lost Woods when he left Termina.
Still the absolute best Zelda intro. "But the hero did not appear" still gets me every time.
+Negasilver Same for me. The very best intro in a videogame for me.

'This is but one of the legends of which the people speak' gets me every time.
I love how this intro is basically a summary of OoT. No one will ever forget how epic that game was for its time.
I wish I could return to 1998.
It's because Wind Waker is a pretty direct sequel to Ocarina of Time. It's basically an alternate sequel compared to Majora's Mask.
Even in today's standards, it's a masterpiece. Imo, it's the best video game ever. Rdr2 is a close second.
Red dead 2 is average. Over rated as hell
Ocarina of Time is THE BEST Zelda ever
The contrast between this game's cheerful atmosphere and the great tragedy the lies beneath the whole thing is why I love this game so much
Breath of the Wild is like the HD Version of the Wind Waker's Post-apocalyptic Hyrule, except there it is was Waterworld.
People seems to misunderstand that.
I really love this game. It was the first one I played.
But the Wii U version.

I think this intro is so much "shocking" for those who plays Ocarina. "Oh my god...I was this hero..."
Thiago Henrique And you failed to show up when you where needed again! D:
hahaha exactly !
goddamn, i shouldve never went to Termina

Especially the reveal toward the end of the game. I was floored.

this was the first ever game i played as a kid, at the age of 4. this song will forever be imbedded in my mind. i remember hearing it every time i played cause i never knew how to save the game cause i couldn’t read lol. i miss the days of roaming around outset island without knowing wtf to do because i was to young to understand anything. but despite i will always remember this song, couldn’t read the subtitles but still conveyed everything through music and pictures
*its legend survived on the wind's breath*
Are you talking about wind waker or breath of the wild?
This is recommended too me every few months, and I watch it everytime :)
By far the best Zelda intro and still the best Zelda game imo.
I really hope they re-re-release this game for Switch. That would be epic!
This was my first Zelda and YEAH, i cried while listening to this.
This game released 7 years ago?!?! Holy cow, it is one of my fav games ever. So many memories, replaying the HD really brought that sense of nostalgia.
bro 7 years ago? more like 20 years ago 💀
It released like 20 years ago
When this came out, I remember thinking “goodbye family, friends, all connection to the real world ... I’m off on a long voyage in my bedroom with a console”
Omg reading this made me cry idk why
As someone who grew up playing wind waker... the opening gave me goosebumps man.
"..The memory of the kingdom vanished, but its legend survived on the wind's breath.."
The music of this segment,it's just so moving,it really gets you the feel of who the hero if time was
This song always brings me to tears it's so beautiful
It's been soooooooooooo long since I've heard this but I still hasn't faded from memory
Meks me crie evrtme....
Not even trying to be funny. This is such an incredible and emotional intro. Absolute perfection...
What a story and intro baby that's fire 🔥 I always rank link to a past as my number 1 this has too be my 2 .
Love how wood silhouette stands on the back for the rest of the video hahaha love from Mexico my guy ❤
2:04 *Goosebumps activate*
My first and favorite Zelda game. I had never heard of Oot or any other title. Played this while my family and I had chicken pox, and I was just mesmerized by the intro.
skip to 1:10 to skip the title screen stuff
what i like about this intro is it is really dark and mysterious but the game's overall theme is joyful and shiny
Like ALTTP in a way.
Port. It. To. The. Switch.
It's an absolute crime that they still have not done this all these years later. My gamecube can't read discs anymore...
ikr... 😢
I feel like people will think I am weird for saying this but underneath the surface Wind Waker is actually quite sad.
A Kingdom gets completely flooded, buried and is gone. Never to return again.
The end of an era😞
It's not my favourite Zelda game, but it probably has the best intro out of all of them. So much nostalgic and chills!!
3:22 "But the Hero did not appear" always gets me 😢😢😢
I really think the reason why he didn't return is because after the events of Majora's Mask, the hero couldn't find the way out of the Lost Woods when he left Termina.
@@Tekman_ no its because zelda sent link to his childhood so the adult timeline has no hero
The nostalgia... brings me back :)
I cant believe the people stood to pray for Link the True Hero to return to save them again but he never returned. That had me chills down my spine
