Nice to see a live oud performance. Interesting to hear it sounds so much like flamenco and playing it has a lot of vibrato, giving it that mystic sound which is the trademark of Arabic music.
Such a deep pleasure and inner peace to listen and Play this Instrument and this Arabic Music. I am Swiss and am learning it since some years - now able to play modest taksims ...
The music and sound that Oud is capable of is outstanding. The way it continues to vibrate feels and sounds like nothing else I've experienced an instrument to do before. I could easily listen to this video over and over again, it is so elegant, exciting, and beautiful.
This is allegedly the mother to the western lute. It's so rich and has a punchy decay, almost fruity. This is the first time I've listened to the oud I think. Gorgeous sound.
Guithara was invinted in Iraq 4000 years back, there are ancient golden guthara in British musuem stolen from Iraq and another ancient silver guithara ( i dont remmber who stole it from Iraq ) .
Love the Oud especially the way this incredibly gifted Son of God plays!!! Hallelujah!!! 🙏💖✌️
It's thrilling to imagine generations of human beings listening to this ancient music it is like a eternal jewel. My dance teachers introduced me to it. It has such a beckoning manner you want to dance to it and be it. His instrument has no frets. So no way to know where you are on the neck. I'm grateful I'm not dealing with that unbelievable challenge while I study guitar. I would give up.
Always gives me a feeling of old-world spirit. Love this music. God is great! Thankyou so much!
dimos kratos Simon Shaheen lives in the States, many American know him as an Arabic american Oud Master, so what do you expect them to type? in Arabic?
Another thing there are many Arab in USA or In the UK have no arabic Keyboard so they type in English.
It is Not show off or something as you think. You should be proud of being Arab and others write comments in English to show none Arab that Arab have culture and arts.
The instrument is almost hauntingly beautiful.
Almost?
Nice to see a live oud performance. Interesting to hear it sounds so much like flamenco and playing it has a lot of vibrato, giving it that mystic sound which is the trademark of Arabic music.
Such a deep pleasure and inner peace to listen and Play this Instrument and this Arabic Music. I am Swiss and am learning it since some years - now able to play modest taksims ...
henry müller it's more Palestinian than Arabic 😉
Keep up the good work 👍
Touch El Ela palestinian is arabic lmao
thank you- I am working with a good teacher. By now, I start to imprivise some taksims on rust ...
show us your taqsem in youtb
The music and sound that Oud is capable of is outstanding. The way it continues to vibrate feels and sounds like nothing else I've experienced an instrument to do before. I could easily listen to this video over and over again, it is so elegant, exciting, and beautiful.
This is allegedly the mother to the western lute. It's so rich and has a punchy decay, almost fruity. This is the first time I've listened to the oud I think. Gorgeous sound.
What a pure form of music !
Love from India.
Oud was invented in Iraq 4000 years ago
Oud is the father of Guitar
Yes and the European Lute is a cousin. The Spanish guitar came from Moor occupation of Spain and then Flamenco.
@@AlexOjideagu2 Al-Oud , Lute..
Name itself resembles..
Guithara was invinted in Iraq 4000 years back, there are ancient golden guthara in British musuem stolen from Iraq and another ancient silver guithara ( i dont remmber who stole it from Iraq ) . Oud was later invinted, but not sure where exactly. If u have historical resources for ur claim tell me.
The flute most probably was invinted in Egypet 5000 years back, but also ancient flutes were founded in some north asia and in the Europe as well.
@@HamoodiClash definitely not Iraq
No
Modern metal guitar "shredding" has so much in common with this style. It goes over most people's heads so they don't enjoy it. I find it beautiful.

Nothing short of remarkable. How can pop/rap musicians look themselves in the mirror after listening to this?
Very top quality. World level.
Praise God, the one known by many names but few hearts.
It’s amazing how much influence you can hear that this style had, for example I get some heavy Santana vibes because of Santana’s flamenco influence and flamenco’s Arabic influence
It's so harmonious, beautiful with rhythm, it reminds me of a violin and the guitar sounds great.
Thank you for this music. It's beautiful. Greeting from Switzerland and Thailand.

Such a technical and musical playing wow! greetings from Turkey
+Berkay Yılmaz I thought this music originated in Spain. I am from U.S., I have always loved this music not knowing its origins.
+Malcolm Loveless The spaniards got their spanish typical sound from arabic influences (flamenco for example) before they kicked the fkkk out all of them. Many arabic influences remained in Spain, for instance the pronunciation of many words (like the "J" sound) and eventually they brought it all to us in South America.
+Malcolm Loveless it was originally Arabic
