Ironhide has always been one of my favorite auotbots from the start, and I'm still sad about it too. However, I think it was a good call to have him die as it cemented the stakes of the film and made the ending hit so much harder, knowing that the autobots had to lose some friends along the way to save chicago. (poor que, that's like executing an innocent grandpa, lmao)
It’s kinda criminal that Ironhide never got a chance to use his Heavy Iron blasters in DOTM, like imagine how cool it would have been to see it in action. Oh well, at least we get to see it in action in the DOTM video game.
@@amyawolford He did shoot at him, but it wasn’t the Heavy Iron blasters. Instead he used Crowbar’s own blaster on him, because it’s much shorter compared to them.
Fun fact: Each of Ironhide's arm cannons are actually given names and are a bit different in their functionality in the guide books. The cannon on his right arm is called the radical missile launcher, which is supposely designed to shoot out missiles and other physical projectiles to shoot at his enemies. While the other cannon on his left is named the fission chamber which seems to be designated as a energy weapon as demonstrated by Ironhide by pounding the ground with it to melt the tires of the Sector seven vechicles to prevent them from pursuing his comrades. However despite this, Ironhide seems to shoot different projectiles from both cannons, most commonly energy shells or rockets at his opponents. Though I heard the claim that Ironhide's cannons are actually made up of various types weapon systems that he can shiftly configure to better adapt whatever situation he's in. Plus, we see ironhide constantly reconfigure his cannons in some of his scenes in the movies. A nice little detail that almost make it seem like he can't make up his mind on what type of round to fire.
Honestly I just figured Ironhide’s new weapons were just a result of Hasbro wanting new toys. Basically his new weapons were to tie in with the Mechtech toyline like how in the DOTM game Ironhide got the Heavy Iron 2.0 rifle. Interesting to know they just came from them wanting to change up the designs. Great video!
I remember how in the DOTM game, Ironhide uses his right arm weapon as an Autocannon, obviously it was just for gameplay purposes, but my personal head canon for this is that he still has the "Autocannon" after the Battle of Egypt as we can see from the Movie, he continues using it until the Battle in Detroit where he battles Mixmaster and during that fight his right arm weapon gets damaged irreparably (Let's say this happened when Ironhide tried blocking one of Mixmaster's shots from his turret ability) so he could only use his Heavy Iron rifles, which he used to eventually dispose of Mixmaster. That's how I personally think he goes from still having his right arm weapon, to suddenly not having it in the DOTM Movie
That would be the most logical headcannon, though we still see on his character model that he still has his left cannon still intact and attached on his arm.
@@bionic-tale4313 I guess High Moon forgot about that little detail where he shouldn't have his left cannon at that point in time, guess I forgot about that since you don't always see it in game, it's really only noticeable in cutscenes

8:32 I figured as he got wind of NEST commencing Operation firestorm he was still in the area and had no choice but to fight for his life in order to survive and decided to go all out unloading every shot at the Decepticons until he was out ouf ammo or possibly the left canon was actually damaged during the fight and when he got wind of firestorm he just ran for his life while being heavily damaged.

"Richard Johnson"
im immature, how can you tell?
He hadn't used em in the 3rd movie cause Que give him guns of his own invention
shame he never used his new guns in dotm
Don't wanna be _"that guy",_ but Wheeljack, Arcee, and Elita-1 were never in the Bayverse. In DOTM, that was Que, a completely different character. Wheeljack's live-action debut was BBM. Que is more-so Wheeljack's grandfather than anything. In ROTF, that wasn't Arcee cuz Arcee's very, very first live-action appearance was in BBM, then ROTB. And Elita's movie debut is TF: One.
Explain why u have TH-cam on light mode
The REAL reason ironhide lost his cannons: more toys
Ironhide traded his Big Cannon for a Canon Camera, that’s why🤷♂️
They all got updated looks and weapons because they had to sell toys with accessories.
So friends, the moral of the story is: IRON HIDE IS SIMPLY PEAK AND ANYONE WHO DISAGREES IS OBJECTIVELY INCORRECT
