Caught 8 quality snook under a mangrove shoreline dock. Was targeting sheepshead but the snook showed up. Also got broke off by a 40ish" snook using shrimp. The snook showed me love on Valentine's Day.
Great vid I've never been down this time of year. Spent the past two evenings fishing the outgoing there are large fish around But nothing like the fishing I've done in July I can't buy a fish other than having something big on I think snook from my previous July catches after watching your video I've learned a lot. Thank you
Thanks for the Info dude :) The fishery I have locally is VERY similar to Tampa. I used to live there before I started fishing sadly. I do miss it! Have a good one!
Absolutely great video!!! I just moved to Crystal River and am trying to learn how to fish the area. This video was extremely helpful. Can’t wait to see more videos like this one.
Great video. I’m also running the bull bay banshee and love it! Would love to see some snapper or grouper videos inside the bay. I’d really like to start learning that fishery.
Topwater to me is the best search bait. Early morning and evening time is good. But it's good all day. But I slay with the bone silver spook Jr between the hours of 11a and 5p. Here's how I look at it. If you're fishing in 3 foot of water or less. That fishes strike zone is within that full 3 feet. From bottom to top. So if they are hungry they will eat a topwater regardless of the time of day. ( Morning , afternoon or evening ) this goes with live bait , cut bait and other artificials as well Trout - trout during winter they are better found in deeper muddy / rocky bottom. Going into spring 1 to 3 foot of water then summer they be 3 to 6 feet of water. Gear wise a 2500 and 3000 reels in most manufacturers are the same reel just the 3000 has a deeper cut spool. At that point I'd personally just go 3000. We agree on the Perfect over all combo 7'6 6-12 med , 3000 reel , 10lb braid , 30 leader. Structure say mangroves and smaller docks 7' 8-17 med heavy rod 3000 or 4000 reel , 15 or 20lb braid , 30 to 40lb leader Trout combo 7' to 7'4 5-10 med light / light with a 1000 or 2000 reel. 5 to 8lb braid 15 to 20lb leader
What about if you are truck to shore fishing and you are fishing places like inter coastal water ways. Daytona beach for example lots of bridges but less docks
How to do find/know exactly where those offshore spots are when you fish for mangrove, gag, and hogfish? Do you plug in gps coordinates and cruise around and look on your sonar or what? I am always curious how you guys find such good little spots.
They’re typically in the same places as snook and reds. Most of the time I cast net them around mangrove shorelines, oyster bars, and canals/creeks during the colder days. Just look for them jumping and if you don’t see any in a minute or two then try a different spot
It won’t be much longer. Spring time will bring some big threadfins and pilchards inshore to the docks/bridges first and then they’ll move to the flats. I’d say within the next month
@@SeeYaDude I saw Jack's swimming in circles. With finger mullet. North of the power plant. Some of the Jack's were swimming on their side. Something is weird with the water 💧

Thank you, I am a Tampa bay native and this is my second year fishing so your videos have helped me a lot!

Great video, fish up here at Crystal River. Still looking for the Redfish!
Could you talk about moon phases?
What's a good all purpose hook I usually run a size 1 but the leader is too thick to tie when i use a 30lb leader
@SeaYaDude How long will these technics last I will be in Florida April 6-10 , will much change ?
Great advice sir. When is the video coming of the new boat?
Good vid do a summer one

Do you know if this information is the same for the Florida panhandle or should we look for different behaviors up here?
The same general rules apply up there, but focus more on creeks/oyster bars/grass flats. Also snook won’t be nearly as prevalent as reds and trout
What do you do to find mullet, I went out yesterday and I had a hard time finding any for bait.

What lb braid do you run on the 4k?
4k you can run up to 30lb. But me personally 15 to 20 would be perfect
When does the live bait start showing back up more regularly?
It won’t be much longer. Spring time will bring some big threadfins and pilchards inshore to the docks/bridges first and then they’ll move to the flats. I’d say within the next month
It depends rather or not if we have late cold fronts. Normally start seeing it happen about March. Of late cold fronts happen about April
I LEAVE IN TWO DAYS I NEEDED THIS A WEEK AGO😭😭😭😭
The only time ytubers do this type of video is when the Fishing is slow 🐌
I mean, you aren’t wrong
