Great Bond villain. One of my favorites. Largo (Adolfo Celi) is buried at a cemetery 20 minutes from my house here in Messina, Italy. I sometimes stop by his grave when I'm there to thank him for the memories.
Adolfo Celi did theater in my country Argentina in the 50' great actor and great character Largo, He did work with Connery again in the movie The next man.
I always thought Celi would have made a good Blofeld in 'You Only Live Twice'. He could play intelligent and smooth, at the same time as brutish and unstable. And he would have been a physical threat to Connery as well.
In Loving Memory Two Actors Of 1. Roger More as James Bond 007 (1927 - 2017) 2. Sean Connery as James Bond 007 (1930 - 2020) I Miss Them 😭😢🕵️🕵️♂️ so Much
The first 5 films with Sean are my favourite Bonds because although i was a child in the 60's i still love the decade today. The filming locations were just so wonderful and glamorous and the idea of sharks in the pool and the fight scene with Sean and one of Largo's henchmen was truly amazing (although Ken Adam did not get a large enough piece of perspex type material to shelter Sean) from them. There is a video posted all about Palmyra and the property how it looked recently and its such a shame it has been left in disrepair. I hope someone with PLENTY OF MONEY buys it and makes it look good again. I suppose because there has been so many hurricanes in the last 50 + years in that part of the world its got a bit battered. Even Lyford Cay where Sean lived was affected back in 2019. We have lost more cast ands crew over the last few years but they will always be part of the BOND FRANCHISE
Personally the funny moment of the scene, when Bond shoots the second guy and his face as he runs "This is going to be good." Props to Largo for getting in the middle while his men are trigger happy shooting each other.
Fact: an accident during filming this scene meant that sharks were released early whilst Connery was still in the pool. The fear you see on his face is real!
I just got my 50th James Bond movies collection, including Skyfall. It is a beautiful package , very nice presentation , I just love it. Includes 22 films on DVD from Dr.No to Quantum Solace. I'm looking to get the disk holder for Skyfall. God bless
"Because he's tangled with my security guy; I might shoot the wrong person!" Proceeds to close the shutters on his security guy and release the sharks.
Albert Hitchcock was onced asked by a woman, "why don't any of your characters just go to the police?" He said, "because my dear, that would be boring."
No sharks in the last 12 plus Bond movies and they still think that they are thrilling audiences..No, They're not. In a Bond film YOU NEED FANTASTIC UNDERWATER scenes with sharks 🦈 and that provides the missing element of danger😑😎👍
So love the music when they both go in the pool continuing their fight and to the death by the feel of the music.. Also I love how they both don't care they a being watched just set out on killing each other and love how the rest just watch them and let them fight to the death in their own world, no distractions.
@@normanmccultureboy6492 I just found an article about the movie where they say they used living sharks behind plexiglass and a dead shark for one scene...
I love tiger sharks, one of my most favorite animals. I also like how one of the Bond villains uses their own dangerous pets to try to devour him without being harmed.
Thunderball is one of the BEST BONDS EVER, by far the most compelling adventure of the Connery era. Bond is truly in ACTION in this one, unlike Goldfinger where he sits on the back until the very end of the movie. If only people would get off their hate wagon with all the rape BS and also the stupidly weak brainless argument about the underwater scenes being boring, when everything going on on those moves the plot forward and they're simply mesmerizing to behold. In my book THUNDERBALL IS TOP 3 JB ANYDAY!
@@alwaysOPEN4business Never drunk. Stoned, maybe. But I haven't changed my opinion. My arguments are solid. This is by far the biggest JB from the SC era, and although the first half hour lacks in rythm (the tone inherited by Goldfinger slowly sinks to the bottom during the first half hour) the movie truly compensates after that point, and the action and pasing are relentless from this very scene onwards. Am I drunk? Only with objectiveness and comon sense ma potatoe friend.
@@solid434 I have an opinion that thunderball has more re watch value because connect is so confident and bad ass that i love watching thunderball over gold finger any day. Not to diss gold finger. Both are good movies

I know I’m gonna get stoned to death by Sean Connery fans, but in my opinion, This movie was such a massive improvement over Goldfinger. I already explained why I think Goldfinger is mediocre in the comments from last video.
If I was a better swimmer, I would like to do that. It's not difficult, you just hit the shark with your fist so the shark understands that you're not food and swims with you.
Nope. All sharks were real. On one occasion they did use a shark that they presumed dead but it woke and attacked which caused all the sharks to start thrashing the person in the pool whom narrowly survived. True story
Boy, that Walther must be a piece of crap to misfire like that. Also, Tiger Sharks? Really? Maybe they replaced the one that was actually in the pool to a Sand Tiger, but it came awfully close to him when he was getting out.
