I really like it when you talk about the differences between the brushes and how to,use them. It never comes off as your trying to sell them just very informative and I appreciate that. So thank you 😄
I think the Nar’s foundation is the best one that’s coming around in a really long time. I’m old and I really think it makes my skin look better than what it actually is. This was a great review. Take care.
Hi Lisa. I'm the weird one. I have the most damage on the outer part of my face. Not sure why. I love the fact that your brushes are synthetic. They are fabulous and great that they're cruelty free. I would never use a natural hair brush. I'm with you. The two foundations look identical. Beautiful coverage, a gorgeous natural glow. The colors are identical. The glow looks the same on each side. Beautiful! ❤❤❤
Those foundations are such a perfect match to your skin. I’m having trouble not only finding something for my newly dry skin, but I just can’t find a color that I’m comfortable with. Everything I’ve tried seems fine I In store and “color matched”, and super yellow when I get home! I’ve returned several different foundations.
I bought the Nars light reflecting foundation in the shade Santa fe just like you, and I love it. Everything you recommend, I try to get. I'm 57 and I swear, the makeup they have now is pure Magic. Love love love it. Thanks for your great videos. 💚💛🌴
That was extremely helpful for us mature ladies and I am sold on Nars. I just think they do complexion products impeccably! Thank you so much for this comparison, very informative
Your exactly right, I have a lot of the real hair makeup brushes, and they do sometimes have some hard hairs in them that poke me especially the eye brushes. I have your brushes. I absolutely love them. I need a new set now. I also still love my it cosmetic brushes. I realize everyone else loves the real hair brushes, but I still prefer the high end synthetic brushes!!!! The Nars definitely looks better on this end in you, but you always look beautiful no matter what!!!!!♥️🤗💕
Thank you for sharing the info on the brushes, Lisa! Such a good point on the inconsistency! I fell for the "only natural brushes are quality brushes" at first and I'm happy to have a great collection of these, but ever since I've discovered BK Beauty brushes, I catch myself always reaching for them first when doing my make-up. Amazing quality and find them far less "messy" on travel. I can just wipe them on my microfiber towel and they are ready for another use. Thank you for creating such amazing tools:)
Thanks, Lisa. Definitely fun. Love these side by side comparisons. I have not tried the MUFE Reboot, but I do have the NARS Light Reflecting formula and love it. It is not overly radiant on my almost 64 yo face and I get lots of compliments on how my skin looks, not my makeup. Even turned my friends on to the NARS product. Now that you slightly favor the NARS, how about comparing it to the DIOR Forever Skin Glow foundation? That’s another favorite of mine.
First of all I loved this comparison! It was interesting to see the difference even though it wasn’t a fail just a little different wearing. It was quite interesting to hear about the difference in real hair and synthetic brushes. I have a few real hair that I purchased years ago and I treasure them because they were my first real makeup brushes. I also liked when in another video you explained how to clean brushes. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge! Thanks 😊
Lisa, thanks for all you teach us. I'm 62 my favorite foundations are it cosmetics bye bye moisturizing foundation and abh luminous foundation and of course loreal luminous.
This vid was just what I needed. I have mature, with a little texture, and have been toying with the Nars Light Reflecting Foundation. I live in the South where it's super hot and humid! Hope the Nars won't make me overly radiant. I switched the color Patagonia and it will be the perfect summertime color. THANK YOU so much.❤
Have you thought about when doing foundation tests or comparisons, showing us what it's like in natural light/outside? Also some influencers turn off the beauty lights while in their filming room.
Having dry skin with some redness, Nars was very nice..but as the day wore on, it didn’t hold up well. Not sure why. Finding cushion foundations, like Missha, seem to provide a nice coverage and stays put all day. Plus…fast application. Dior, Chanel also make cushion foundations but their prices are through the roof.
I know a lot of people talked about the MUFE Reboot when it first came out.. Samantha Ravndahl, Allana, Jamie French etc all loved it! When the new NARS foundation came out I heard so many comparing it to and along with the new MUFE HD foundation.. I have asked associates at Sephora their recommendations between the two NARS and MUFE HD with my normal leaning dry mature skin.. They all have suggested I try MUFE HD.. I think that may try MUFE HD and the NARS.. Thank you for this! Also for the brush explanations too!
Thanks Lisa for explaining the differences in brushes. I have a set of yours and I love them. I've also learned to put on foundation the way you do. Pressing in for more coverage and shearing out for less. My foundation looks really nice doing it that way. I can't tell a difference at all in the foundations.
Lisa, are you aware that while talking, at some point (starting at around 9:25 min.) you were going over both cheeks (especially lower part) with your MakeUp Forever foundation, thus potentially changing the effect on your right side? Multitasking is tricky :)
Your skin is flawless without foundation, lucky you! I have never tried animal hair brushes, I have only been wearing makeup in the last 10 years and just live synthetic brushes. I love that Nars foundation but never tried the MUFE, maybe one day.
Could you talk about their products..I'd love to spread the word..I love that they're a small company..love all their products. Im from Carlsbad area and love to support this brand.
Lisa, BK Beauty brushes just can't be beat, in my opinion. I've purchased the original full set and the Angie Hot and Flashy set. I must also give your lipliners and lipsticks 💄 a FULL SHOUT OUT, too!!! I love it all!!!! I guess my next purchase will be the Travel set and your Eyeshadow palette 🎨. Waiting for the next sale and I will snatch them up, too. You did a great job on the review of these foundations. They both looked beautiful on your skin. Keep posting, Lisa. I enjoy your content. It is so nice to see an Austinite on this platform. Love ya, KIMBER (Your Austin, Texas Sister in Beauty) 🤗😘🥰👄💞👄
Aside from skin type, your climate matters quite a bit too. You’re in Texas, so I wasn’t surprised in the slightest that the NARS got shinier on you. I live in Washington State and it remains completely natural on my skin all day, a bit part of why it’s become my favorite foundation. Glad to see it rank on top. I even bought a summer shade in the NARS and I have NEVER done that before. 🤪
Have you ever tried Crunchi beauty foundation? If not I highly recommend and suggest this brand to try. They are clean brand. The finish is even prettier than the nars and I adore that foundation.
I have both of them and honestly Nars has way more coverage 🤷♀️ I never can get a solid medium right away with Mufe. I absolutely love them both! But if I have to choose, I would pick Nars 🤩 it is stunning and so reliable
Very informative! Would love to see you do a similar comparison/test with high end versions and their drugstore dupes. I’d love to see how they compare in application, initial look, and all day wear.
I already have the Nars Pure Radiant Longwear foundation as well as the Lauder Double Wear and Futurist foundations, so I probably won’t purchase either of these foundations, but they do look good and look identical from this side of the camera 😀
I love the NARS but I was unable to find a shade match in the MF (deep/dark). Makeup Forever was too red. Actually, my Holy Grail had become the L'Oreal True Match Hyluronic serum....courtesy of YOU, Lisa!!! 😃 😊 😀 😄 😁
I really love the Nars. I am awaiting delivery on two Chantecaille products (cream foundation and concealer) so I am interested to see if they are as good as the Nars, for me. I also love my It CC Cream foundation - and, as far as brushes go, BK Beauty brushes are the only ones I will ever need now that I have experienced how flawlessly they apply all my makeup. A tribute to your expertise and attention to QC. I do see a slight difference and the NARS does look a bit more flawless here. Hugs 💖
I'm not a fan of the Nars Light Reflecting foundation, purely because it is TOO shiny! Shiny, reflective finishes seem to sit in my crinkles and accentuate them. I agree, the Nars has more shine than the MUF. In my opinion, your brushes are the BEST synthetic brushes out these AND they are the BEST shaped brushes!! Love yooooooooooo 💚❤💚❤💚
I just ordered your 106 brush. I have been wanting to try your brushes for a long time. I'm excited to get it. Maybe I will build me a new brush collection with BK beauty brushes. WE will see,
@@lisajmakeup I appreciated the brush tutorial as well…I didn’t realize those were your brushes and I just bought the fenty cream bronzer…do you have a brush recommendation?
I was having major fomo about not being able to buy the Nars Foundation because I'm on a no buy, but I do have the makeup forever reboot, so it was really nice to see you do the comparison of both. I do believe the makeup forever has a true medium coverage though. I am so relieved that I can get pretty close to the same thing with the makeup forever. Even though the products on top didn't wear as well, I would just use a setting spray that has alcohol in it, that would help make the products stay better. I found I'm using two setting sprays now. I'm using one that has an oil-based to set the powder in so it's not so cakey, and then following that, I use one with an alcohol-based to really set that the makeup in. That's really been working for me. Thank you so much for this review! I appreciate it more than you know.❤❤
Hi Lisa, I’ve been wanting to try the NARS light reflecting foundation for awhile now but just haven’t had the time to go in store to be shade matched, both looked beautiful on your skin but then I haven’t seen a foundation that doesn’t look great on you, you’ve got a beautiful canvas to work with having beautiful skin, I might end up purchasing online and see how I go, the store does have an online shade match for most foundation products, that’s how I purchased my NARS tinted moisturiser and got it right. Much Love ❤️ from Janelle 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻💕💕💕
Great video - thanks. I mix the Nars with Givenchy Libre 1:1 to cut down on the shine but still get the longevity. The Libre just reformulated into two, one matte, one dewey. Have you tried either? I have some samples from Sephora I am looking forward to trying but haven't yet.
The MUFE has fragrance fairly high up and the Nars has none so that may be a deciding factor for some. I personally like the Nars on my 64 year old, slightly dry skin but the color match is slightly off.
I really appreciate the content that you put out. Can you please review any clean, Vegan and cruelty free products. I would really appreciate your thoughts 🥰
I truly prefer synthetic fiber makeup brushes. And it’s good to find the synthetic makeup brushes that really function well (like my BK brushes). The astonishing price for the most highly praised natural makeup brushes is also something I’m not willing to pay.
Lisa, thank you for such great content in your videos. Can you tell me how you think that the NARS Light Reflecting compares to the Estée Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue as far as finish, etc? I know that the Futurist also gives that radiant glow type of look but just curious as to the difference between the 2. Thanks so much.
Hi Lisa. I hope you are doing well. Thank you for your videos. I was curious as to whether either of these are comparable to any drugstore foundations? What are your thoughts? I really appreciate your videos. So glad 😀 you are here, sharing your content! ❤️🌸
Hi Laura, I don’t think the Loreal I use is comparable but Infallible 24 hour and Pro Glow, Pro Matte are such good drugstore options. I’ll be 58 this Thursday and I am loving the Pro Matte…my skin has never been dry and I seem to be aging well ;) so matte has always been my choice. Lisa can chime in, of course! I just don’t want to spend $49 on foundation so I always opt for Loreal and I am never disappointed :) Thanks Lisa❤️keep inspiring and sharing, friend!
Fantastic video! I LOVVVE MY BK BRUSHES!! 101 and Angie 506.The Nars, didn't find any matches, and too dry for my 59 yr old skin. Makeup Forever haven't tried but after so many returns of foundation I've given up
TY for this episode. This is useful info, but for me, the wear-time wasn’t long enough. So which brand out there is the best foundation for coverage lasting 12+ hours? I’m 58yrs old, my skin is getting more and more dry with time. I work 12hr shifts in Urgent Care, so I don’t have time to powder my nose between patients! Haha And I’m having a hard time finding a good foundation that will actually last.
DrFrance-I'm 55, and have dry skin. Out of all of the foundations I've tried the last couple of years, I've found that Estée Lauder Doublewear, and Lancôme Tient Idole, give the most coverage, and longest staying power. Since they're typically matte foundations, I do make sure I'm using o good hydrating moisturizer underneath, and a hydrating primer. If yo d9nt use primers, you can skip this step. Hope that helps!
I was so disappointed in the NARS. It went on blotchy and made my skin so dry! Looked horrible, and was the first foundation I ever returned. I am 56 and have slightly dry skin.
That was my experience too! I'm 73 with very dry skin. I love the glow I get with Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint SPF. Going to try Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation for a little more coverage.
@@GrannyZanna I'm 72, Suzanne. Maybe I should try the Ilia serum foundation.?? I've not tried any Ilia skin products. My skin is normal with a couple of dry patches on my cheeks. I'm trying to go with lighter foundations that cover well. I need coverage because of the brown sun damage spots. 😔
I'm 43 dry skin. I love the IT Cosmetics your skin but better. It's a serum with skin care. Another I just tried is the LYS. It's also a serum. I'm loving the serum foundations or mixing my tinted moisturizer into a foundation.
I'm so sorry! I have had a great experience with it. There was a learning curve. I have found it needs a very grippy primer over a very well moisturized face.
I had the exact same experience Suzanne! NARS was the first foundation I’ve ever returned in my life! I am same age, same skin type as you. I have been loving the Givenchy Prisme Libre skin caring matte foundation.
Great comparison study on your two holy grail foundations. As to the brushes, thank you for such a thorough explanation of the differences between synthetic and natural. With synthetic as good as they are now there is zero reason to use natural hair derived from our precious animals. These animals are not willingly giving us their coats, we are taking it from them. Not OK.
Lisa In One of your videos you mentioned a product which I think was by hourglass, that you add to your foundation. Can you tell me the name of that product and who makes it. Thank you
I tried samples of both foundations. I did not like the NARS at all. It went on smoothly, and nice, then about an hour in, my skin felt dry with it on. I don’t have large pores, or wrinkles, just dry skin. Now, the MUFE foundation was great on me! Love that one. Definitely full bottle worthy for me. I’m 66 years old, guess, on the mature side. Lol.
I have harder luck searchin an account on a phone. Have you done a video about the best foundations for flash photography? And also includes techniques for flash photography?
I have gone through so many foundations in the past 6 months. I tried different techniques when applying. I have even mixed some. the one I get full coverage my 43 year old skin needs doesn't match the best to my weird skin tones. I have red I have dark spots and I have different colored areas. I have two faced which is good ling lasting coverage and then I have a Revlon that doesn't last as long but matches my skin color. I even did the ilmakiage test and what they sent me sucked. as a gift I had gotten ilmakiage in shade 65 which was a tad off but the shade 95 they sent me was wrong and it cost $49. I couldn't send it back. I have tried everything except the loreal, este lauder. my daughter has an este lauder I want to try. what color concealer should someone use to cover dark and red spots?
I love the Loreal Fresh Wear. Estee Lauder Double Wear is great but go light when applying as it can look heavy but it stays put! There are so many concealers out there....but if you want to cover red you would color correct and use green.
I was reading your info in the description and thought it said “I live in Texas so I’m more of an oily hotter moms”🤣 months!!!…more oily in hotter months 😆
I could not agree with you more about the natural vs. synthetic brushes. My BK Beauty, Laura Lee, IT Cosmetics, Haleys, E.L.F. vs say my rephr brushes.....well one could say right out of the packaging the rephr is crazy soft, but picking up product it is a different experience. I like my synthetic brushes more for several reasons. One being cost to effectiveness. The cost of natural hair brushes just does not make any sense to me when I get better application and less soak up of product. Please do not get me wrong I do not dislike my rephr brushes. I just do not get the price gouge and do not even get me started on Tom Ford brushes!!!! Still love my Angie brushes with BK Beauty!!! So soft and perfect!
Both foundations look beautiful on you Lisa but the Nars looked flawless at the end of the day and the Makeup Forever looked patchy on the cheek area, it was the first thing I noticed on your last check in. I have not tried the MF but I do have the Nars foundation and it has become one of my favourites. When you first came on the video I thought you were already wearing foundation your skin looked so perfect. You can easily get away without wearing any, just a tinted spf, lucky lady!🥰💜
I thought the video was fun & helpful..I do wonder y Nars described their foundation as being a natural finish,I dnt think most peoples skin is naturally as glowy as the Nars side,I kno my skin doesn't glow like that naturally.
Beautiful! ❤❤❤
Your skin is beautiful!! You don’t need any makeup at all, but I’m sure glad you share my addiction and share you knowledge with us. Thank you Lisa❤️
Thank so much for this review I picked up both today and I liked both those foundations I do have mature and love both
Thanks Lisa that really helped me
❤I noticed the shift in the blush etc, both pretty
Those foundations are such a perfect match to your skin. I’m having trouble not only finding something for my newly dry skin, but I just can’t find a color that I’m comfortable with. Everything I’ve tried seems fine I
In store and “color matched”, and super yellow when I get home! I’ve returned several different foundations.
I love the Nars side !!
I have so many expensive foundations but goodness my favorite is the Nars! It's lovely and yes a bit of a glow to the skin. Lasts alllll day on me❤
I bought the Nars light reflecting foundation in the shade Santa fe just like you, and I love it. Everything you recommend, I try to get. I'm 57 and I swear, the makeup they have now is pure Magic. Love love love it. Thanks for your great videos. 💚💛🌴

I like the 101 brush but Your 106 brush is my favorite for foundation. Both foundations look gorgeous!
Thank you Tamara!
Really like the makeup forever looking a lot 😍

The Nars definitely looks better on this end in you, but you always look beautiful no matter what!!!!!♥️🤗💕
Great comparison, Lisa. I wish I had your "pretty good" skin! It's beautiful skin!!
I think it may look different on aging skin. Your skin is beautiful with very few wrinkles so on mature skin it could perform differently.
I just turned 80 and I love them both!
Thank you for sharing the info on the brushes, Lisa! Such a good point on the inconsistency! I really appreciate the content that you put out. Can you please review any clean, Vegan and cruelty free products. I would really appreciate your thoughts 🥰
Lisa--I love your white blouse! Can you link it?
I truly prefer synthetic fiber makeup brushes. And it’s good to find the synthetic makeup brushes that really function well (like my BK brushes). The astonishing price for the most highly praised natural makeup brushes is also something I’m not willing to pay.
Thank you Ginny!! I am so happy you are enjoying your BK Brushes
This was super helpful!
Lisa. I think both sides look great agree on the Nars side. Did you feel Nars showed any texture. Not that you have much !❤
Watching another video, saw Lisa post click out the video I was watching to go see Lisa🤭😂 Love your videos😍
Thank you Carmen!
Great content! What did you use for your eyeshadow it’s so pretty!
I just don’t want to spend $49 on foundation so I always opt for Loreal and I am never disappointed :)
Thanks Lisa❤️keep inspiring and sharing, friend!
Fantastic video! I LOVVVE MY BK BRUSHES!! 101 and Angie 506.The Nars, didn't find any matches, and too dry for my 59 yr old skin. Makeup Forever haven't tried but after so many returns of foundation I've given up
Aww yay!!! I am so happy to hear that!
Very…very similar. I feel like the Nars is a bit more gooey. Both are so ver pretty on you!!
Same here, I MUST stay on task today, see a new Lisa post and....click...fail. 😂
Great advice!
Lisa you mention on another video that your favorite foundation was the Dior because it last all day. Which do you prefer now?
I agree with you the Nars seems to have more glow. What are the price points?
She mentioned the price in the video near the beginning. One was $49 and one was $40. Sorry, but I forgot which is which.
Thank you
Beautiful!
Lol.
I ❤️ it! Thank you Lisa.
I have harder luck searchin an account on a phone. Have you done a video about the best foundations for flash photography? And also includes techniques for flash photography?
I haven't but that is a great topic idea! Thank you!
What do you recommend for age spots on the cheeks? What foundation would you suggest?
So which would you recommend fir dry 60 year old skin?
Help with foundation shades...why do all my foundations look orange on me??
Hi Lisa...great video. Now, are you sure you only has 1 cup of coffee in the morning? Love the energy!
Lol!
I tried NARS and it do not covered my pigmentation and look dry on my skim,I am Asian and hard to find a shade
What shade in nars do you use...im light neutral and having hard time matching it..thanks!!
Hi Yvonne, I were shade Patagonia or Sante Fe :) I can wear both
Both foundations look beautiful on you Lisa but the Nars looked flawless at the end of the day and the Makeup Forever looked patchy on the cheek area, it was the first thing I noticed on your last check in. I have not tried the MF but I do have the Nars foundation and it has become one of my favourites. When you first came on the video I thought you were already wearing foundation your skin looked so perfect. You can easily get away without wearing any, just a tinted spf, lucky lady!🥰💜
Thank you so much sweet Katrina!
Now your mixing them together, using the same brush all over in both sides!
Unfortunately MUFA has fragrance.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I thought the video was fun & helpful..I do wonder y Nars described their foundation as being a natural finish,I dnt think most peoples skin is naturally as glowy as the Nars side,I kno my skin doesn't glow like that naturally.
Hard to tell she has prefect skin
