Yes I know. I realized this aspect later. However, the idea was to block everything at a fixed point before disassembling and removing the high pump from the car. So basically the goal was achieved, everything remained in a fixed position, without moving anything from the fixed point. Thanks for the comment, I wish you all the best!
The common oil leak on these mk5 is usually the tin gasket between the cylinder head and the cog drive unit, it’s unusual for it to be the tin gasket inside the cog unit or the o ring, if you take the cog drive off completely, you can then get to the tin gasket on the side of the cylinder head, this will also probably be leaking because they are rubbish
Thank you for your comment! In my case, the oil leak was there and I got rid of it after replacing the gasket and that o-ring. It's been over a month since I did the work and so far it's dry and clean in the area, with no oil loss.
@@Teleport73 I spoke to quite a few people about this and the conclusion was, there is probably too much oil pressure causing the tin gasket to leak over time, if we are talking about the gasket between the cylinder head and cog drive, the longest distance I have driven before it starts leaking again is about 8k so what I do now is ignore it and keep topping the oil up, next time I change this gasket I might put a bit of silicon sealer around the small hole on the gasket where it typically leaks from, but that’s about it I’m afraid
The engine on the Mondeo Mk4 is different to the engine on the Mondeo Mk5. What I filmed in this clip is about replacing the gaskets and o-rings from the High Pressure Fuel Pump to fix the oil leaks.

When you time the pump you should put the 6mm pin in at 6 o clock in the timingbelt pulley, the ovlong 8mm is for tdc when you change timingbelt etc.

This was the case with my vehicle. Any way to fix this permanently, rather than just fit a new gasket, reassemble. then wait for it to happen again?

they forgot to replace the most important seal under the pump gear. It is mainly leaking through a small hole
Yes, I saw it later... Next, a book-like work is planned in the future, as it should have been done from the very beginning.
Could my mondeo 4.5 2.0 tdci 2011 model have the same issue , seems like same area not and brake vacuum pump but something else around there ?

Cat timp a luat că operație ?
În jur de 3 ore, lucrat lejer și cu atenție.

Tocmai, ca fix aceea a fost, pentru ca nu mai am pierdere de ulei în zona respectiva.
