I wouldn't say he's a household name, but I guess somewhat known? I think I had heard the name before, but didn't really know the artist or what kind of music he does.
He is 30 years old, born in 1995. That was a bit surprising to me, I thought he was younger! 😄

30 years old? Oh my gosh! I thought he was only in his early 20's. That's crazy! 😄

@@princeblworld He has released three albums and each of them have been in Top 10 in Finnish album charts (#6, #2, #5). So he is definetely a household name in Finland. I used to listen quite alot that album that was #2 in the charts.
Only four of his songs, however, has been in Top 10, so it is more about the albums than the songs. But definetely a talented and known musician. Way more well known than Käärijä, Goldilocks or even the metal band One Morning Left which has released five albums (this year) and a lightyear more known than Windows95Man (last year).
I thought when I heard this song, that is a little flat. In my rankings, however, I do not know how I would rate the three songs released by far. Maybe I would put Costee in the third place, but the same problem about being just a solid song without a climax is with Nelli Matula's song. And Neea River's song is also lacking something, even though it is more progressive than these last two. Problem with Nightmares is that in international pop you've heard songs like that quite a many times. But in the end, it will definetely affect a lot how these songs are presented on stage.

@tommilaitinen5555 Okay I might very well just be out of the music scene of Finland and not know all the artists "everybody knows", but I would definitely argue he is not "way more well known than Käärijä". More well-known than Käärijä was when he entered UMK, sure. But right now? No way. More established on his career, maybe.

@@Sinivalkoseepra-yz1ke More well known that Käärijä was before UMK and ESC. That was what I was trying to say. Comparing these artists when entering UMK. Costee in that sense is an established artist where as Käärijä was pretty much unknown. Sara Siipola was last year more well known that Käärijä was two years ago before entering the competition.
Costee has chart positions from years past, so he is not "unknown".

@tommilaitinen5555 Well that's true. To me they are all quite unknown except Erika Wikman, but I have at least heard of Nelli Matula and Costee before. That's saying more about me than the artists, though 😅

Ive been watching your videos for a long time and commented on a different channel. From now on i'll be on this channel. Anyways back to the topic: So far its quite an underwhelming song to me. We need something powerful, different and unique like Cha Cha Cha. It might grow on me, but well have to wait and see for his performance. In a interview he said his performance includes himself climbing something, which sounds interesting.

First of all, thank you very much for watching my videos. I know I am sort of annoying because most of the time, I keep pausing the video and talk a lot. Lol 😆
Anyway, honestly speaking, my only hope now is on Erika Vikman. I hope her song doesn't disappoint me. 😆❤️💚❤️❤️

I agree. She might have a good song. But that rock band "One morning left" might also deliver something awesome. Im looking forward to hearing their song too.

This song is a ok. But not eurovision song.

I agree. It has this radio friendly vibe, but I don't think it's a Eurovision song. 🤍💚❤️

To be honest, the song was quite underwhelming to me. I don't want to be mean or disrespectful, but I just didn't feel for this song. The melody of the chorus is kind of pleasant, but it reminds me a lot of two other well-known finnish songs, and I don't care that much about those either. It does get stuck in my head, but in a way that I just get annoyed by it and would like to get rid of it 🙈
I'm sorry for Costee and his fans, but this is not quite my thing, and I think this is not quite up there with what I expect from UMK songs.

I think we should listen to this song for a few times in order to really appreciate it. I didn't have that striking first impression of this song, either. However, I think he can perform.

Since you compared this with Lultelk, I now think I know what is it that does not go through to me with this! I like Luktelk, because I like the beat and the rhythm in that song. I realised those are very important to me in music - beat and rhythm. This song doesn't really have that strong beat, it is quite soft and melodic. 🤔

@Sinivalkoseepra-yz1ke You have a very good point. I don't know why I couldn't stop thinking about Sylvester Belt while listening to this. The only difference is Luktelk is way better and much more appealing. This one would taste a bit bland if I had to describe it as food. 😊💚❤️
