As per my understanding a 5.1 channel speaker can give surround output (if doesn't have Dolby Atmos) when the input audio is in 5.1Ch Dolby or 5.1Ch DTS. And if the source audio is 2.1ch stereo, then it can be upscaled to AC3 5.1ch using some free Windows utilities, though it won't be as good as Dolby Atmos or any similar proprietary algorithms.
Hi sir, big fan of your work, but for Obage DT 2605, brand warranty is 6months, but seeing lot of customers getting IC burn issue and sound noise coming after 9 months of usage. whats is your take on Obage DT 2605 regarding speaker life. i am very convinced to buy Obage DT-2605 but afraid that it will get issue after few months of usage, which is alternative company speaker with better life and similar to Obage DT 2605 sound signature?

Hi Vineet, i have purchased Obage ht 144 after following your reviews and comparison tests. I am very thankful to you because after the initial burn period, the system is functioning beautifully and I just love it. regarding the remote (which as you said is not a complete functioning remote) I would like to know whether a Universal Remote will work in its place because the obage remote buttons especially the volume buttons and Mode changing button is quite useless and we have to repeatedly press the buttons to make a change. please advise. I would also request your advise whether I can add about 2/3 feet of additional speaker wire in the proper polarity for sake of placement convenience in my bedroom walls. Please advise. Thanks. Thanks for the informative video. I wonder you didn't even mention Obage DT 51. In my opinion, the sound signature and balance in DT 51 may be somewhat better than DT 2605. was expecting at least an honourary mention...
It is a very good system which I said in my earlier video, but I said in the start that I will cover all types of audio signature. Obage HT-144 and DT-51 are similarly priced and have somewhat similar experience, so I had to give variety for all kinds of users
@vineet In such case you should have atleast given a mention of the same in the video (DT51) along side HT144 so that people can also go for DT51 if they like tower model
Hi Vineet, I have seen almost all your videos regarding best home theatres and your are heavily leaned towards the obage brand. I trust obage is actually a good brand and providing good products at those price range. I decided to choose one between DT 2605 and DT 51. Questions: 1. Which one to choose between the above two obage systems for good music, clarity in vocals and also with balanced bass? 2. Secondly I also saw the last product that you reviewed and that is the F&D T60X which is priced at a little higher range but that's not an issue. Motive is to buy the best one among all the ones you reviewed. If i am getting a better one by spending another 4k on F&D, then do you suggest I should go for F&D instead of Obage here? Please respond and give your honest answer as you have been delivering. PS- Fan and a subscriber.

@@VMone I am facing issue with the optical cable connection. I have a LG tv and after connecting with DT 51, it's giving a buzzing sound but no audio. I changed the settings to optical audio out in TV. Contacted Obage but they are saying it could be an issue with tv which is unlikely. Also asked me to check with other opt feasible devices for testing the cable. Cable is from Cable Creation. I don't know what else to do. It's been more than 3 weeks since I got this speakers.😌
@@mindrover777 No its not working. Obage customer care is asking me to ship the primary unit to courier it to their Delhi center for checking. I am not sure if I will send it, as I am using the other cable to connect to my smart tv. Its working with that cable but I guess with Optical the quality will be better which I am unable to experience it. :(
This comparison video was egerly awaited. Thank you! One query- I want to know the details of, as you categoricaly mentioned, surround sound you get from a 2 lac rupees system and why does it need to be so costly. So what are those ₹20-50k surround sound systems available and people use.
@@VMone thanks for reply. But I am not convinced that descrete 5.1 or 7.1 channels with dolby or dts decoding is producing "virtual surround". I expect a video on this- virtual and real surround stuff, at least some details. According to my understanding- a virtual surround is when mono or stereo inputs are mixed in to 6/9/11 or more channels through dolby prologic, dts neo or similiar algorythm, and gives a sense of channel seperation to the listner. While background scores mixed and coded in multichannel (5.1, 7.1 etc) audio at the time of production and decoded again in exact multichannel audio at listners end, is SURROUND SOUND, whether in dolby, dts or pcm, doesn't matter. Pleasss prove me wrong🙏🏼!!!

@@prashantprem1 you are right brother lets get this with ex. you get sony 5.1 bar which is Dolby certified and you connect through eARC which can output 5.1 separately and at that time when you consume a content over TH-cam which but obvious is only 2 channel (left and right) your sound bar produces virtual sound by duplicating signals and work as 2.1 but give output through every speaker BUT when you consume proper 5.1 content your speaker produces 6 channel sound SEPRATELY and its as same as what you listen in theatres so any speakers which are 5.1 and have proper 5.1 connection can produce 6 channel separately but you have to connect it properly and should have test it through various test samples you can get easily anywhere I dnt knw how Vineet sir says they are virtual but as being in sound for more than 7 years we work on projects for 5.1 you can consume the same if you have speakers to produce 6 channels and in this case only philips one can do but if connected through DVD option so as you said any speakers can do the surround thing if it has same number of channel connectivity or it has amp to produce the number of channels

Thanks for the valuable information on budget home theater Systems, I would like to correct you Sir about Philips SPA8000B Prologic II you have mentioned it is nothing but bass will be minimized, but in actual the system can convert stereo audio signals through AUX port to near to Dolby Digital Experience (not fully) as it has a capability of channel separation from stereo to 5.1 channel, provided we have properly installed all the satellite speakers and we are getting signal from TV (Supports Dolby Digital) or Set Top Box (HD) and the movie we are watching is Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital+ etc. I am so much sure about this as I am using the same System since 2 years and it is superb in its performance.🙏🙏🙏

Jo ki Dolby Digital audio support karta hai aur mein sare satellite speakers ko ear level main perfect position me lagaya hoon. Jo ki ek dam virtual surrounding sound provide krta hai. (Dolby digital audio files) tv mein chalaye toh.

Lekin ab system mein kuch gadbadi hogaya care leke thik karwaya. 2 ic kharab ho gaye the.. thik karke acha chala..lekin kuch din baad phir se subwoofer ke andar se dhuan nikla.. board jal gaya😢ab phir thik karna padega😭

Bluetooth hai par usse bhi woh output nhi milti jiske reviews sunke ye system buy Kiya tha. Company ke pass bhi iska koi solution nhi woh kehte hai Sir aap HDMI to RCA ya optical to RCA cable buy kar lijiye usse apki problem solve ho jayegi par market mein wire available hi nhi hai Amazon pe bhi nhi and sabse badi baat converter available hai woh bhi 1200-2000 price ka. 🤔 Ab 3999 ka system buy karke uspe koi 2000 aur kyun spend karega just connectivity issue ke liye ye to company ko dekhna chahiye ki aaj kal kya options mil rahe hai market mein use dekhte huye apne system mein connectivity options dene chahiye. Abhi bhi same old RCA jo mainly old tv sets mein common tha ab nhi ab hdmi arc common hai. For the Panasonic HT 21, the EQ button on Remote works as a cyclic mode changer EQ (moves between base boost, treble enhancer, flat and Vocal with each press of the button). It is available only for inputs of Bluetooth and USB. It does not work for AUX input. There is no option to change the base or treble of the system using the Remote.

Hello Sir, Good Afternoon, I was trying to finalize between Obage DT-21 and HT-144 and listened to the recordings, but not able to make a considerable difference. I guess the bass of DT-21 is little punchy. Another observation was that DT-21 had a higher recording volume. Was unable to make out if the recording was done at higher volume or if the loudness of DT-21 is actually higher than HT-144. I understand that both these are very unique, I wanted to buy the better one irrespective of their pricing as the furnished room size is around 12 x 15 feet. Thanks in advance. Your channel has been really helpful to me in making a choice and I love the scientific method of approach in your reviews. Your channel is also the first channel I have ever commented as well. Nice review and good explanation sir. These are just 2.1 Hifi music systems and not true home theatre. Just because there is a Sub woofer and few speakers will not make these a true home theatre. Audio systems with certified multi channel decoding features from Dolby labs and DTS labs are true home theatre systems.

Kyunki koi bhi system jab tak properly connect nhi hoga tab tak woh max output nhi de payega. Maine apka review dekh ke Obage ht303 buy Kiya aur ab sirf Bluetooth ke alava main use kisi bhi aur tarike se use nhi kar paa Raha. @@VMone I am facing issue with the optical cable connection. I have a LG tv and after connecting with DT 51, it's giving a buzzing sound but no audio. I changed the settings to optical audio out in TV. Contacted Obage but they are saying it could be an issue with tv which is unlikely. Also asked me to check with other opt feasible devices for testing the cable. Cable is from Cable Creation. I don't know what else to do. It's been more than 3 weeks since I got this speakers.😌

@@mindrover777 No its not working. Obage customer care is asking me to ship the primary unit to courier it to their Delhi center for checking. I am not sure if I will send it, as I am using the other cable to connect to my smart tv. Its working with that cable but I guess with Optical the quality will be better which I am unable to experience it. :(

One query- I want to know the details of, as you categoricaly mentioned, surround sound you get from a 2 lac rupees system and why does it need to be so costly. So what are those ₹20-50k surround sound systems available and people use.

@@VMone thanks for reply. But I am not convinced that descrete 5.1 or 7.1 channels with dolby or dts decoding is producing "virtual surround".
I expect a video on this- virtual and real surround stuff, at least some details. According to my understanding- a virtual surround is when mono or stereo inputs are mixed in to 6/9/11 or more channels through dolby prologic, dts neo or similiar algorythm, and gives a sense of channel seperation to the listner. While background scores mixed and coded in multichannel (5.1, 7.1 etc) audio at the time of production and decoded again in exact multichannel audio at listners end, is SURROUND SOUND, whether in dolby, dts or pcm, doesn't matter.

@@prashantprem1 you are right brother lets get this with ex. you get sony 5.1 bar which is Dolby certified and you connect through eARC which can output 5.1 separately and at that time when you consume a content over TH-cam which but obvious is only 2 channel (left and right) your sound bar produces virtual sound by duplicating signals and work as 2.1 but give output through every speaker BUT when you consume proper 5.1 content your speaker produces 6 channel sound SEPRATELY and its as same as what you listen in theatres so any speakers which are 5.1 and have proper 5.1 connection can produce 6 channel separately but you have to connect it properly and should have test it through various test samples you can get easily anywhere I dnt knw how Vineet sir says they are virtual but as being in sound for more than 7 years we work on projects for 5.1 you can consume the same if you have speakers to produce 6 channels and in this case only philips one can do but if connected through DVD option
so as you said any speakers can do the surround thing if it has same number of channel connectivity or it has amp to produce the number of channels

Thanks for the valuable information on budget home theater Systems, I would like to correct you Sir about Philips SPA8000B Prologic II you have mentioned it is nothing but bass will be minimized, but in actual the system can convert stereo audio signals through AUX port to near to Dolby Digital Experience (not fully) as it has a capability of channel separation from stereo to 5.1 channel, provided we have properly installed all the satellite speakers and we are getting signal from TV (Supports Dolby Digital) or Set Top Box (HD) and the movie we are watching is Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital+ etc. I am so much sure about this as I am using the same System since 2 years and it is superb in its performance.🙏🙏🙏
I realized this soon after the release of this video when one of my friends told me about this feature in Philips system. I stand corrected and will be extra careful in the future. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Bluetooth hai par usse bhi woh output nhi milti jiske reviews sunke ye system buy Kiya tha. Company ke pass bhi iska koi solution nhi woh kehte hai Sir aap HDMI to RCA ya optical to RCA cable buy kar lijiye usse apki problem solve ho jayegi par market mein wire available hi nhi hai Amazon pe bhi nhi and sabse badi baat converter available hai woh bhi 1200-2000 price ka. 🤔 Ab 3999 ka system buy karke uspe koi 2000 aur kyun spend karega just connectivity issue ke liye ye to company ko dekhna chahiye ki aaj kal kya options mil rahe hai market mein use dekhte huye apne system mein connectivity options dene chahiye. Abhi bhi same old RCA jo mainly old tv sets mein common tha ab nhi ab hdmi arc common hai. For the Panasonic HT 21, the EQ button on Remote works as a cyclic mode changer EQ (moves between base boost, treble enhancer, flat and Vocal with each press of the button). It is available only for inputs of Bluetooth and USB. It does not work for AUX input. There is no option to change the base or treble of the system using the Remote.
Decent insight for entry level segment. There's a big market outside of the world of crossover precisions, and THX certs. :)

Hello Sir, Good Afternoon, I was trying to finalize between Obage DT-21 and HT-144 and listened to the recordings, but not able to make a considerable difference. I guess the bass of DT-21 is little punchy. Another observation was that DT-21 had a higher recording volume. Was unable to make out if the recording was done at higher volume or if the loudness of DT-21 is actually higher than HT-144. I understand that both these are very unique, I wanted to buy the better one irrespective of their pricing as the furnished room size is around 12 x 15 feet. Thanks in advance. Your channel has been really helpful to me in making a choice and I love the scientific method of approach in your reviews. Your channel is also the first channel I have ever commented as well. Nice review and good explanation sir. These are just 2.1 Hifi music systems and not true home theatre. Just because there is a Sub woofer and few speakers will not make these a true home theatre. Audio systems with certified multi channel decoding features from Dolby labs and DTS labs are true home theatre systems.
