What I wouldn’t give to see just one more game in the stadium. Been to hundreds of games in the united center, and it’s nothing like the atmosphere was in that old building.

And that's saying something because the United Center is loud😂😂😂

Oh to go back in time and hear that crowd and anthem live one more time; I got chills every game i was there during this era!

Cuthbert ... my 2nd favourite OF THEM ALL, only after Olde King Cole. Whitman was THE voice of the CFL, and top 10 all time hockey voice for me.
Three friends and I drove to Chicago in '94 to see The Stadium once before it got torn down. 5 - 5 tie with Montreal.
NOT a Blackhawks fan. But ... best beginning to any sports event (other than some Big Ten college games) was Wayne singing the anthem at Chicago Stadium. God bless the Chicago fans for yelling their heads off during the anthem. Thank you.

Thank you for posting this. Nancy Faust was perhaps my favorite organist out of a long list. Great that you had the Anthems and some of her other stuff! I've heard similar stuff at White Sox games, but not so much from hockey where she was awesome!

All I got to say is NO sporting live event I ever attended was as loud as this crowd at the old Chicago Stadium. I attended many Hawk games there mostly in the 80's. The National Anthem live was just an emotional moment cheering, like you have NEVER experienced before nor would you ever again UNLESS at Chicago Stadium Anthem with Wayne Mesmer singing. Noise that loud for that long, 4-5 minutes. Did you see the Hawk players at the end. They were moving around cause the crowd had them so antsy with chills up they're spines 🤯

Big fan of the Madhouse on Madison from a distance. Unfortunately, never saw a live event there. What a loss.

Can you please digitize it and upload the entire game for historical purposes?

As a kid, we had season tickets and I would frequently invite friends to attend a game. If it was their first Hawks game, I would never warn them about the anthem. But the look on their face said it all. It was unbelievable. Every. Damn. Time.

Was born in 2000, yet I’m pissed about that organ not being at the United Center. Perhaps the most beautiful instrument in the world, replaced by what sounds like a computer-generated harpsichord at UC.

Sorry younger fans, but the United Center is a joke compared to the old stadium.
