I've recently seen many countries/governments in Europe advertise they will pay you to open a business in a certain area and run a certain type of business (turn a castle into a hotel as an example), the deal being they want to attract tourism to the area, so you get a chunk of money to start the business, a business/job and paycheck, while the gov will get tax money from the increase in tourism and your business (atleast in theory). What's your opinion on these opportunities?
Syed, I don't know where you are or your situation. You need to turn to Google and find programs that apply to you where you live, or for the industry you want to enter or that relate to a group you may be a member of. Start with local economic development organizations who help people start businesses. They'll know some of what is available locally.

When I google "start a business in michigan grants" I get pages of stuff and reference to a Michigan Innovation Program. Do some research and get ready for a lot of reading to see if you might qualify for any of them. Cheers

I don't. Try googling 'small business grant ireland' or your local city, county, etc. Also, try looking for a local economic development agency. Call city hall to see if there is one working to try and help businesses start and/or grow. Those people would know about grants normally.
I have found and business that I want to buy. I have NO money. I have NO collateral. I have tons of experience working in the business' industry. The owner is showing tremendous goodwill by staying on for a year if I can get the cash together. He has gone into what I would call hiatus but still has a load of potential contracts coming in - the potential is incredible - even I can see this. How can you help me?

Weld mechanic work...have cdl lic to drive any truck.....i live a little north of Nashville where building is booming... Residential and commercial..... The local concrete companies have so much waste that the local dump truck drivers stay busy hauling off their waste..pay good money to haul it where ever they can find a place to dump...and even pay dump fee... I need backing to buy a portable crusher to crush and sell gravel...also need loader .....for everything to get started would be 150k to 200k for the equipment Ya could probably also refer to also recycling
