Takes the pish really. I spend hours preparing UK truck and bus MOT's to a high standard to present to a government appointed tester that can fail for a minor number plate issue and here's a UK main dealer with in an house approved MOT facility passing a vehicle for an obvious non compliant number plate. Can't make it up, takes the mickey out of the system. Love the jag by the way, I've a V6 rdyn.
Do you have any ideas on whether or not crazed headlights can be refurbed as opposed to replaced? I’ve watched your headlight swap video but just wandered if it’s possible to avoid the 2000+ quid on MY18 cars lol
I doubt they can, unfortunately. The crazing is micro cracking in the headlight plastics. If you’re good, you may be able to remove the lenses. But they are bonded on incredibly well!
Always good to get a clean MOT, especially on a Jag F-Type (as a previous owner). Just hope it's only the dodgy number plate they overlooked and nothing safety critical. Also, no real value in going to main dealer, not like it's maintaining a FSH. Any remedial work will just cost a fortune.
Well done getting that passed with incorrect spacing of numbers on your registration plate. Obvs the doughnuts worked for you. Just come back from MOT for my F Type and passed aswell. 😎
