Another 26 minutes of pure , unadulterated, peace, pleasure and enjoyment. Thank you so much for taking the time to film this for us. Peace and health my friend.
This is the 1st of your films I've seen. For me the whole reason for being out in the wilderness is for the tranquillity . I definitely don't want to hear people speaking. Fantastic use of natural materials. Lots of great ideas to steal here. I'll be watching more.
That brought a smile on so many levels. The hot rock cooking at the end was awesome. I was thinking to myself, "Wait, what's he doing? No way..! Will it work? Man I can't believe that worked!"
A wonderful Sunday morning gift from you - what a great way to begin the week. I think I'll watch it every morning... Thank you. And now, morning two. It's Monday. 2nd watching. And stress that I wasn't even aware of left my body shortly into the first scene. It is so calming. Tuesday - day three... The scene with the light jug, far away and small, then zoomed out even further... It's humbling, like looking at the stars and realizing my relation to the universe... Wednesday, day 4... The calming feeling happened immediately at the beginning... The rock becomes a stove, the potato an onion, the water jug becomes a source of light... Dinner is on, and all is well. Thursday - Fifth viewing... Beautiful simplicity....so much is made visible with less and less clutter... Friday morning, sixth viewing... The mind viewing for the sixth time is not the mind that viewed the first time...there is now a deeper understanding of that which seems unavailable in contemporary living, of what is necessary yet missing, the desire for it and the understanding that this could indeed be a way of life...has entered my awareness... Thank you... Day 7, Saturday morning... Seeing nuances that I hadn't noticed until now...this has been a great experience. Many likes, many thank you's.
Joe from wisconsin america I absolutely love all your videos I usually watch your videos at minimum a couple times first time to watch what you are doing second time the backround it's so beautiful what a great place 👍keep making I will keep watching
Another great video!! I just came back from a six day trip with my lavvu, out of the six days it rained three. It was easy going to sleep listening to the rain on the canvas. Thanks again from bringing us along!!!
@@Swedwoods I had my ammo can stove along for some heat and cooking, which was nice. It did get down to 23F a couple of nights... The biggest problem after a couple of days was just getting in and out of the lavvu, but my gear and I were nice and dry!! Thanks again for the great videos!!
The water bottle light diffuser is a great idea...and it made for some stunning visuals! Plus another novel way to hang pots and to adjust them over the fire. Thanks!
Thanks! Yeah these ideas actually worked very good. One nice detail was that the pot was more sturdy and fixed in its position. Nice when you stir the pot because you can do it one handed.
@@Swedwoods I was amazed that (somehow) the friction fit was enough to hold the pot edge. There was something fine you did in crafting that and I do not understand it.
@@jamesellsworth9673 when you insert it first the tight friction fit is enough to hold a light empty pot in the air. But even as the cut gets bigger by use, or lets imagine a bigger cut thats not so snug fit.. the pot will still hang there. Because the attaching point is not above the centre of gravity of the object. Its on the side of it, creating a force that tilt everything to the side, thus increasing the "pinch" of the pot. In fact, the more water you pour into the pot, the more it gets pinched to the stick. So the firm stable attachment of the stick up at one of the tripods legs is crucial for this to work, to stop the whole stick holding the pot from tilting.
I loved the use of the felled tree to carve a spot for the Knife sharpening block, wow and the Wooden Spool he carved for cooking looked better than anything you could buy in the god damn store, I wish we could all live this free
I'm fascinated watching your videos. It makes you want to run and go to the woods. thank you for sharing your techniques with us. big hug and see you in the woods.
Most powerful part of this video is simplicity. I would want to do much of nothing out there but sleep and eat and take naps. Doing nothing is very necessary and healing
Some very clever multi-purpose builds, without being too difficult or complex to put together in less than ideal circumstances, or for beginners. It's already got me thinking of using the pot hanger method with the curved canteen type cups, just bore a hole up the center and one cross-wise, then split the stick down from the crosswise hole to the end rather than saw. The center bore should help accommodate the curve of the cup and the cross-drilled hole should "lock" the lip of the rim in place. You could still put the cross cut in for items with a bail or top handle. Thanks for getting the ol' brain working! It looked pretty soggy, but it looked like it worked out well and you had a great trip! 🤔💭💡😄👍👍❤️🇨🇦
I nver knew u could cook a piece of meet on a rock after removing the whole fire wow that was simply amazing the potatoes and onions too that looks like it would be tastier and more natural than any fancy restraunt
as always brilliant quite surprised at size of tripod, i agree Autumn everything is soaking wet but not long till it freezes over, love the spoon carving a big thumbs up and shared to my group...atb

Another great video!! I just came back from a six day trip with my lavvu, out of the six days it rained three. It was easy going to sleep listening to the rain on the canvas. Thanks again from bringing us along!!!
Thanks a lot James! Six days in a small lavvu in this season is an achievement for sure. Harder than most people can understand.

Mannen, soldatens ärtsoppa.... Klassiker! Prova med ett pkt knaperstekt bacon i 😉 Mums. Tack snälla för en i mitt tycke underhållande video.
