    The growth on the trees you mentioned is mistletoe.

    Nice one will,agree so nice to see the working boats,saves a lot of polluting fumes from so many lorrie loads,see your in overdrive now mate,when you get back on the canal it will seem very leisurely,big rivers can seem very scary when you are not used to them,especially in flood,hope that bump hasn’t buckled your bottom plate?
    Any way will take care mate be safe,look forwards to your next video,best wishes John 👌👍

      Thanks John. My boat raised up and listed quite badly to one side. Of coarse I crapped myself. I snapped my pole in the process trying to get off. I used foward and reverse at full throttle to get off. Thanks for your support Bud.

    Well I am honoured to have a mention in your vlog! Some great heron shots and that swan taking off was amazing! know the fresh water smell you mean when approaching weirs; they should bottle that scent as it’s just beautiful isn’t it? Glad your boat was alright. Great vlog!👍🌻🦋

      Yeah I cook them all the time now for lunch. I noticed you were trying to get a swan taking off shot and I got loads of them flapping and flying all over the place. Thanks for commenting.

    Nice run on the River Severn. But I think it is odd that you drive the narrowboat with the back doors closed - I would never do that because on our boat you have to be a little bit inside so that the steering device is behind you and will not push you off the boat if it gets twisted by something under the boat as they sometimes do.

      The tiller is behind me. I understand were your coming from. I put the tiller handle in the small of my back and lean on my cratch cover. So most of the time I'm well out the way. Thanks for your concern buddy.

    Yes, I spent two days looking for a swan to take off and nothing! Then this vlog of yours is like Swan Lake the action movie! I will mention it to Pam to watch as she asked me to film it and she’ll love your video. 👍

    Hi Will , I thought you would have gone to Gloucester as it’s a fantastic place with great moorings, that pontoon at Upton is where I fell in when the Severn was in flood last year and further up where the bank has collapsed is where my nephews van is , we went from diglas basin to the top of the tardebigge in one day bloody hard work , have a great Christmas and new year 👍👍

      I wouldn't like to fall in when it's flooded. It's a dangerous river. I crapped myself stuck on that rock or whatever it was. Getting to tardebigge in one day is unbelievable. I bet you slept that night lol. Have a lovely crimbo. Thanks for your interesting comment. I didn't know I could go left down the river until later. I wish I had now but I will return. Ha ha ha sinister laugh. 😁😁

    Hi, we are from Canada planning on this trip in the spring 2024. Where is this underwater rock between Diglis and Upton. Is it marked? Enjoy your vlogs and your life prospective.

    • @NarrowboatWill
      @NarrowboatWill  ปีที่แล้ว

      No it's not marked. It's near the big old moorings where ships used to unload. I was going to moor there but I've heard they put rocks there to stop boaters pulling over. Stay in the middle and you will be fine. Good luck..🫵👍

    Personally I'd have put the spuds on the engine. It's giving off heat, so may as use It if possible to cook. Is there usually a cut off point at which boats are not moving? Would any narrow boats travel during the night?

    • @NarrowboatWill
      @NarrowboatWill  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you can travel but it's not usual. Might need a permit.

    Those 'growths' in the tree are birds' nests. Probably herons, given the context.
