Thanks, mate. Your recent video on the SBGM221 was one of the reasons I went to check out these Grand Seiko models. I love them both but the SBGW231 was more comfortable on my wrist.
I bought this watch 2 years ago, and I still love it. It’s part of my 5 watch collection: SBGW231, FOIS, Tudor Red Rose, Reverso duo 85th anniversary tribute, and Datejust 116200. This has been constant the last 2 years, although I just ordered the Cartier Tank Louis in rose gold to celebrate my 40th this year.
Had my eye on this watch for the past few years I eventually bought it and I love it it ticks so many boxes for me I just love the dial , it changes in different light conditions and has a real luxury feel about it. This watch is for me. Not to be noticed by other people unless a real watch ensuthiast not one for the Rolex fan boys
Agree with you for 100% about having a smaller watch collection. The GS 231 would definitely in it for me. Just love this watch. Thanks for the great, informative video.
I have the SBGM221and SBGW283. They are beautiful pieces and will remain in my collection for good. I know this because the feeling of genuine attachment I have far outweighs that of any Rolex I've ever owned. The GS watches I own have a chemistry which perfectly suits what I look for in a time piece.
My first GS was the SBGW231 followed by the SBGN003. I feel like this is a great duo and covers most situations I will likely be in. The SBGW231 is a dress watch by definition but can be dressed down with different straps. Water resistance is its only weakness.
The leather strap watch you’re wearing looks awesome! Pls share its details, I cannot get a clear glimpse of it :) Just purchased my SBGM221, I adore it, it’s my first Grand Seiko and I have a feeling it won’t be the last!
Great video! I'm a huge fan of this particular GS, I just wish it had flat hands, like the GMT model, as those are much more readable in poor lighting, especially considering the cream dial.
I too love the style and look of this watch. I only wished GS made a no date, automatic, screw down crown and 100m WR version. Now that would be a Rolex killer in my book.
Yeah you can’t go wrong with any ivory dial GS, I have the SBGR261 and I wear it as much as I can. I love the SBGM221 but I already have 2 GMT’s and I liked the clean dressy dial of the 261 so I got that one. Talk about classic good looks!
I bought an SBGW269, it’s bonkers how fine the watches from this series are in person. I was chatting with a friend over coffee this morning and he asked me “What the hell is with that watch?” The way they can reflect light of the faceted indices is simply amazing, hard not to notice. Did you wind up with an SBGW231?
@@OneManReviews congratulations on completing your collection. Not a lot of people can make that claim and to stick to it is another thing itself. Great watches, but a person need to see it to believe just how fine these are. There’s a lot of different colorways, not everyone is going to appeal to anyone person, but there’s something for everyone. I wound up with a rather overlooked European edition. I’m a believer now.
REVIEWING ONE WATCH, AND WEARING OTHER. What you think ? You should wear the same watch during the video which you are reviewing. Viewing from distance is also needed, not only 6inch wrist long shots. Wideangle is a must.
Great video man, I love my SBGM221. You can’t go wrong with Grand Seiko!

Thanks. That's a great collection you have. Congrats on the Tank also!

Thanks so much for the feedback. It does look like the watch that mostly would be appreciated by the owner.

Thanks. Glad you like the video. This GS is incredible and would love to add this watch to my collection one day.
I bought this to mark my 30 yo. Simple, but well finished with beautiful inside. As how I tell my myself to be.
Yes the watch is stunning.
Excellent watch indeed. Considering it myself.

Thanks, Gary. I love those two models. I also feel like the SBGW231 easily could be an everyday watch. Except when you need to go swimming.
The only problem I have with Grand Seiko is that every model should come work a water resistance if 100M.
I don’t want the hassle of a screw down crown. Who wears a $6k watch to go swimming. Not me, buy a diver for that. 🤓
I can’t think of any collection that this beaut wouldn’t sit well in, am likewise obsessed with this after trying it on

Thanks. It's my Longines Heritage 1918. Congratulations with the new watch. SBGM221 is an awesome watch.
Owned mine for 18 months and it's perfect. The curved box crystal and matt leather strap are great.
Thanks for the feedback. I hope to get it one day.
@@OneManReviews In the UK they are available at 0% finance over 4 years. Makes it very affordable.
@@rajmehta6210 That's very nice.
This was my first GS. I love it!!
My favourite GS model as of right now.

You can check out the SBGX261 model. Besides the quartz movement, It checks all the Explorer boxes.
Go for it! The baby Calatrava is great. Love mine 🥰
Really want this watch in my collection. 🤩
A very nice watch!
I have the same watch. All you need is another GS oem jubilee bracelet, and that is perfection.
Thank you. Thanks for the tip on the bracelet. For how long do you have this model?
@@OneManReviews I had sbgw031 quite a few years, and sold it to change 231, if you consider it as the same model, then years I have of this watch.

Да, эта модель просто чистая классика, которую всегда хорошо иметь в коллекции.

Did you wind up with an SBGW231?
Congrats on the excellent watch! I haven't had a chance to buy an SBGW231 yet. I have my collection complete but still thinking about that GS.

Do it! I’ve owned it twice . Looks wonderful on many straps
Thanks. I like them a lot, but I am giving myself some time to think about this watch. I am already checking straps for this model from Delugs :)
Did you end up purchasing it? Long term experience? I’m considering the SBGW283 blue “spring time” version of the same case.
No, it's still on my Wishlist. But at the same time I am kinda happy with my main watches right now. It's complicated. Lol.
@@OneManReviews totally understand. I’m in the same boat
I have one question: is it true that one can see the glue under the front glass? Thanks
I own this watch. Looked at it with a 25x loupe and no there is absolutely no glue residue as suggested on another channel.
Do you have any opinion on Squale?
I like some of their models design. But never had any experience with Squale watches.

Buy it, it’s beautiful and versatile. Nothing beats the curved hands. I love mine.
The model is on my list for sure.
