It is wartime. In the chaos, Scholar became separated from his sister, Fair Maiden became separated from her family. The two lone strangers meet by chance. They explained the situation to each other, and then opt to go their separate ways. The chivalrous Scholar realise the precarious situation the lady is in. So they decide to journey together. But it would be inconvenient socially, for an unmarried man and unmarried woman to travel together. So they agree to pose as husband & wife. Nature conspire to bring them closer; a heavy thunderstorm bring them together as they have to share the only umbrella.
Cantonese opera from Hong Kong - featuring popular xiaosheng 龙贯天, with huadan 郑咏梅 performing with the Kong Fai Opera Co 光辉粤剧 on 23rd Oct 2013 @ Banda St, Singapore. This was the 2nd night of the 12-day opera performances hosted by 三皇五帝 religious organisation.
