notice how Night King aimed for the flying dragon instead of the one closer on the ground. He’s so confident he can kill multiple dragon, he aim for the one further away first, and once Drogon take off, it would still be in his throw range. So yeah, doesn’t matter whether or not Jon was being stupid, at least 1 dragon would die.

Rather than killing off Thoros, they should have kept him alive till the end, and when everyone gets on the dragon, he could have charged at them with his flaming sword, just like he did at pyke.. That way, his death would have been more heroic...
Well, most honorable characters didn't get heroic deaths. Ned Stark, Robb, Robert, Oberyn, Drogo, the King beyond the Wall, etc

We did not celebrate her death. We grieved it when it began, in a feast hall where she saw she would never be loved by her people as Jon was loved, and we grieved it when it truly came to pass, when madness overtook her to the sounds of bells and screaming. What died before the Iron Throne was not Daenerys Stormborn. What died that day was the monster that killed her ... the monster that had lived inside her all her life.
No one celebrated her death, we grieved, they grieved. But keeping her alive would've put other characters we love in imminent danger. She couldn't be reasoned with and that, unfortunately, is why she had to die.

We saw her at her best and in control, so to say that she would never do this, isn't really rooted in any kind of reality. We've seen almost every major character at their lowest, but it was what they did, when they finally had their head above water, that defined them. With Daenerys we saw her sink deeper and deeper with each loss, to the point that nothing and no one could save her.

The episode makes perfect sense. The character Dany would jump on her dragon to save Jon and Jorah and co, because that's who she is. Ok, the only thing I would say doesn't make total sense is that the Night King didn't throw the javelin at Drogon, but if he had, Drogon would have got out of the way, because he's dealt with Qyburn's Scorpion before, so instead of watching the Night King fire and miss and waste precious screen time, we watch him kill Viserion. Perhaps the Night King saw this and didn't fire. Anyway, people saying the dragons got there too fast, they're dragons! It took about a day and that fits in with what we've seen in the rest of the show. The characters who didn't die didn't die for a reason, we'll see that reason later in the series/next season. Uncle Benjen needed to get in quick, so just showed Jon his face, chucked him on a horse, and off he went. People are complaining because things are starting to go in the characters way, but it all makes sense. The episode was a bit fast paced, and probs could have been stretched into two, but the show has a budget and they needed to cut off three eps. Oh, and Dany's reaction IS perfect. She doesn't jump off Drogon and weep on the floor, she's just in total shock. She's in disbelief, the world has stopped for her, and Emilia Clarke played that perfectly.

Some of the complaints I agree with, some I don't. John getting saved twice stretches the imagination a bit, I'll agree. But, people complaining about how fast the dragons got there didn't seem to notice the subtle "time passes" scenes they threw in. They were there on that rock for at least two days. Long enough for some of them to sleep, for Thoros to fall asleep and die and none of them notice right away, and for the ice to completely refreeze.
Which raises the question, how long would it take for a raven to fly to Dragonstone? We know dragon's are fast af, but what about the crow? It is conceivable that two days was enough, but that's pushing it.

Haters gonna hate but this is one of those rare truly heartbreaking scenes in TV, it was absolutely brilliant, people were hanging on the edge of their seat and genuinely crying afterwards.

Hearing the cries of Viserion as he falls in combination with Rhaegal's and Drogon's were heartbreaking to hear. Rhaegal also attempts to break his brother's fall but fails :(
I personally really enjoyed the episode and I understand people have a lot of criticism with it but what I don't get is why people think characters have all of a sudden acquired teleportation powers. I've just started re-watching GOT and in the very first episode King Robert and Cersei travel from Kings Landing to Winterfell in 5 minutes and claim they were travelling for a month yet everyone seems to have forgotten that. Characters travelling from place to place in what seems like no time at all isn't anything new. I know people have other criticism's as well but that was one that I noticed a lot of people complaining about.
Jack Shepherd THANK YOU. I have been saying this all along. People were receiving ravens sent from the other side of the continent in a matter of minutes since the very first season. I really don't understand why people wanna act surprised now
+ the fact that Gendry ran fast as hell, and didnt arrive to the wall until sunset. That distance isnt really something I want to discuss, since we dont know the distance nor the time he spent running. Whats important is that a raven was sent at sunset, and Daenerys didnt arrive until sunrise, or atleast abit later. It means that it takes half a day to fly between Dragonstone and the wall. Its sounds reasonable to me.
Jack Shepherd -- I just wish a dragon or two had created another water donut to surround the crew to prevent the walkers from reaching them.
I also heard complaints about Varys arriving in Dorne so quick last season but I don't really have that big of problem with it. That being said, IMO it is only a little irritating when you want a certain character to get somewhere fast and they take three episodes or longer. Then, in some episodes some characters make it someplace within that one episode. BTW, we still don't know what kind of FLIGHT TIME Drogon is on. Remember when Cersei stupidly complained that Daenerys was only a minute late to that big meeting? But how would she time it and who cares? :)

A man is still confused on why:
(1) Jon didn't ride Drogon when he could have. The place was cleared enough for him to climb.
(2) Benjen didn't ride the horse with Jon (I mean come on! "No time?", you could ride the horse in seconds.)
I still loved the episode, but the logic of it all was kinda lost in the final moments.
For your second question, i feel it's because Benjen can't cross the wall? I don't know if it's actually the reason or not, but I feel I heard that somewhere. He was probably almost dead by that point.
Not sure for the first question, maybe he was aiming for the night king? Like pulling off a Jaime from few episodes back..
But yes, the logic past these two episodes has been really bad. It's just my opinion though. I hope they pull off a good finale.
1. He tried to clear the area for others to climb on Drogon first.
2. Benjen most likely wanted to die. He could not move south of the wall and he was trapped all alone north with WWs ,wights and been almost a wight himself.

I come back and rewatch these from time to time. Very few things in cinema are more satisfying than watching those dragons blaze through the unstoppable undead army like they're paper soldiers. That moment when Jon ducks and the dragon swoops over him, causing the audience to scream gets me every time as well.

So, at 3:10 someone yells out "Viserion!" which I find strange, since rhaegol and viserion are almost indistinguishable in the show and this dude knew which one it was right away. Hmmm.....

A lot of people knew it was Viserion just because it makes sense. Dany rides Drogon (named after her husband), Rhaegal is named after her good brother Rhaegar (who Jon will probably ride one day), Viserion is named after her piece of shit abusive brother that no one likes or has a connection to. So as soon as I saw that one was going down, I knew it was Viserion.

Unpopular opinion: the action in this episode was spectacular and breathtakingly amazing. I'm not denying that. However, game of thrones has appeared to have got itself stuck in a rut right now. The deus ex machina overload, the teleportation devices, the lack of any major character stakes, and the lack of realism in terms of characters' actions and consequences there of. It's a bit concerning, considering how game of thrones flourished in this respect in seasons 1-6, with particular emphasis on seasons 3 and 4.

I feel exactly the same. Game of Thrones used to be about doing the unpredictable and the unthinkable, but now it has become the opposite of that. Hopefully this episode's lack of cohesive characterization and logic was just a one-off, and things will get back to normal.
Yeah it's as if seasons 1-4 were using source material which took 15 years to write. Even George can't seem to finish book 6 after 6 YEARS OF WRITING - so how can you expect the show writers to make material as good as seasons 1-4 with no source material and little direction. It is actually REASONABLE and not a bad thing to expect the show to go downhill if you no longer have source material to adapt upon. If anything you should be annoyed with George for not being able to write his book on time. The producers of GoT expected book 6 to be finished by the time season 5 would air...
The writers knew that GRRM was a slow writer when they started. They should have planned ahead for that possibility. Game of Thrones has had a very high standard from the beginning, and the showrunners have made that clear time and time again, so why should we settle for anything less than the standards they say they will give us? Not having source material is not an excuse for simply casting aside the logic of previous seasons in favor of expedited reunions and "fan service". The fans want good television first and foremost.
I love the faces they make, sad with a tiny smile as if they were thinking "Dude, I knew this was going to happen, deep inside my heart, but I hoped to be wrong". I felt the same ;__;

I think he's just a Lannister fan (or maybe just Bronn). A dragon being lost to Dany and gained by the night king is still a dragon the Lannister's have to deal with to come out on top, so doesn't really change things for them.
From what I saw on that episode I think they said he is just a huge Bronn fan, so he was super excited that Bronn didn't get roasted alive

Viserion is a dragon, and dragons are magical creatures. When he blasted the Wall with his magical blue fire, the enchantment was destroyed and the Wall could no longer protect the realms of men from the Army of the Dead.

Yeah, dumb characters with no motivation whatsoever, shitty dialogue, plot holes within plot holes - it's now on the Walking Dead level of writing. But the CGI budget is impressive. So GoT turned into the Transformers. If you like this kind of thing, then sure, but it's just sad they had to butcher something so many people liked for not being TWD and Transformers.
