    Best rewinding video I've seen! I certainly appreciated the color coded wiring diagrams and seeing how you carefully ascertained the slots/coils relationships. Too many of the other rewinding videos just showed the manufacturing of the motor rewinding process, whereas your video emphasises the elecrial engineering! Keep up the good work!

    We used to learn at school how an induction motor works, every kid was told at some point in around second form at high school in the UK. However, I bet there’s less than one in a thousand in the UK that could do this and I’m not that one. I’m also betting that out of those who have the knowledge to do it very few actually have done it. Great wiring diagram too considering we only saw him use a ruler and coloured pencils.
    Great job, great video.

      The trouble with U.S. schools, they do not teach this. The schools that I have seen barely teach you anything of a trade. Our schools have seriously went downhill in the last 50 yrs. They go in and out like herding cattle. Sad what our Government had do to our schools.

      You made the mistake to connect two sections of the main coil with the other two in parallel instead in series, the same happened to the starting section. Without charge the Am-clutchmeter showed more than 7 Ampère, that’s highly to much. In series there would be a current of abt 2 Ampères, this would be correct. Therefore the motor is humming so strong!

So, I think it would be a perfect reference, if I had just a tad more knowledge and skill. I'm restoring a motor on my channel and I just wish I was able to learn (or knew where and how to learn) this in case rewinding becomes necessary. Definitely saving for later reference. Bravo from VA 😎

    What stops a short circuit between phases ?

    • @hattrick136
      @hattrick136 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are not supposed to touch, we put insulation paper between phases, also the copper wire has a coating over the bare wire to prevent shorts
