It is so cruel what they do with the donkeys there when I went to Santorini they had a donkey tied up in the middle of a field with no shade. They use those donkeys to carry people up and down the hill as a tourist attraction absolutely disgusting
Lol that's not true, they change them, some donkeys are free to walk around in peoples fields, in nature with water, food and everything in the morning and during lunch time and other donkeys are free on afternoon and night. They change em up. And usually they don't carry people cause people are too afraid because of the height and the stairs anyways. They do carry things up though. But believe me 99% of them are well taking care of and rested

The weight is an issue for them. I went to santorini last year and some of them were small donkeys carrying 2 people and 2 cases and were collapsing. They’re underfed and rarely get water, they are badly abused it’s disgusting.

We have soooo many more beautiful places like mountains and rivers and lakes and some beaches that are unreal. Those 3 'mainstream' places are very fancy and extremely expensive (Athens is not too expensive but still). The rest of Greece is, admittedly, not as fancy and over the top but it's totally worth visiting places like Pindus, Chios, Crete, Zakynthos, Peloponesos and soooo many more places that are incredibly beautiful and have amazing history

Samantha Walton You do realise places like Santorini need tourism, it’s there main source of income and without it they would be in plight, i’m sure if saffron shows symptoms she will isolate, she hasn’t done anything wrong so stop being negative, they need the tourism.
@@verityrandall4267 actually tourism is the main source of income for Greece and usually we get about 10million tourists every year and this year we'll be lucky to get 50.000 so I'm glad to see people visiting my country

@@verityrandall4267 what most people don't get that annoys me though is that Greece is more than Mykonos, Santorini and Athens. We have soooo many more beautiful places like mountains and rivers and lakes and some beaches that are unreal. Those 3 'mainstream' places are very fancy and extremely expensive (Athens is not too expensive but still). The rest of Greece is, admittedly, not as fancy and over the top but it's totally worth visiting places like Pindus, Chios, Crete, Zakynthos, Peloponesos and soooo many more places that are incredibly beautiful and have amazing history
