Nice to see a video Gary, looking excellent for the age of the car and millage. Some newer cars don’t look as good. I would definitely say don’t sell it. I want to keep my mk3 but what with all the challenges coming forward relating to increased costs I may be forced to part with my mk3. I going to all I can to hold on to mine, however these cars are made to be enjoyed and if you are at a stage where you cannot enjoy, then maybe it’s time to let someone else enjoy? I dented driver side front wing on my green RS getting it out of my garage. Local Vauxhall garage of all places did an absolutely flawless job on it! I’ve also got a rattle in the back, think it’s the spoiler as you say and a cracked camera bubble too! Plus slight bubbling of passenger rear arch! All the same common problems 😄 Just turned 57,000 miles.

Your car is a great gem! Very beautiful ! In Brazil there is only one unit of this model in the ultimate green color, which was a tribute to the Ford Escort RS of the 70s, which had the same color. The Ford Focus RS that you have in Brazil is the only one in Latin America. It was independent import. The cool thing about this car is that it doesn't have electronic drool. It is the pure sports car. I'm in love with Ford, I have a New Fiesta Se. Even with the closing of factories around the world and the discontinuation of some models in some countries, I remain loyal to the brand.
for your rear rattle, if not the spoiler, check the back seat spindles, i had the issue on my MK2 and MK3 Focus's -- the metal spindle that holds the back seats upright, drop the seats down, and i wound a strip of gorilla tape around the spindles (enough just to cover it) and then slammed the seat back into upright position. No more rattling. 👍
Gary the rattle in the back may be caused by the rear sway Bar forward bush as when these go they cause a rattle especial when cold and over bumps! get someone to sit in the back and lift the rear seat on the side of the rattle and get them to check its not coming through the floor! Ive had several like this and the large dounut bush was shot on the trailing arm on that side! Best of luck and the car looks sweet
It's a great car, don't sell it as you will regret it - I did. Any rust issues with the lower black front grill? Many I have seen at shows appear to be suffering where the mesh meets the plastic (if that makes sense). I'm guessing yours is okay?
Mine is not an rs its a zetec but had all the original running gear up until 135000 its had in the last year 2 drop links front and rear trailing arm bushes but the bolts were ceased in so had to be cut out so they runined the rear suspension arms so had 2 of them 2 new wish bones last mot.so you have got nothing to worry about. I still love the mk 2 focus if something bothering you just get it fixed Otherwise you won't enjoy driving it anymore. Love your car it looks awesome.

Beautiful car, the rear spoiler check that the clips are still there, sit on the left and right side and stop the spoiler rattling. See them when you open the boot.

I've got a white Megane R26 and I've got just a couple of niggles that I need to address over winter but I put it down to age but your OCD like myself and just want the car perfect. You will get there especially as you don't plan to get rid and the same story with me with the megane. Next summer If your game we could do a video on them both. The car is looking great and if that’s all that bugs you it’s a good one. You forgot the broken aux belt on the alternator, DIY fix though, best sort 😃. 2 years have flown by.

Mine just done 57k & owned it since 2013. It's not starting to give me the same vibe with little niggles. Most recently all this year, a very major intermittent engine fault, fortunately I was put onto Demon Performance & they nailed it. The clocks had to come out & be re-soldered. I've changed the throttle body twice due to the error code. However the error code is the red herring & not the real cause
I’ve heard of another owner having similar issues to that mate. Those electrical niggles can be a nightmare can’t they! Glad DPC sorted it though mate 👌🏻
Most Beautiful car ever created😍 They are starting to get their flaws , chipped paint and missing clips and stuff but they are starting to age , they still are reliable if you keep them conditioned , really not seeing the advantage of my mk3 rs anymore over this one … might go take a look at some mk2’s next week 👍
Never heard a ford focus described as beautiful never mind most beautiful car ever created. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder i guess. I hated my mk2 focus i thought it was the most boring slab of heavy pig iron ever created. Admittedly it wasn't an RS but still lol
The bumper fit front and back is poor on these cars, rear spoiler does rattle like mad, fixed mine years ago by putting a pad under it and re-tighten. Get the paint shop to repaint the arches by using the minimum of paint on the edge of the arch and get plenty of rust killer on there!! At least it isn't ultimate green which is a sod to match!!
Luckily my front bumper is spot on 👍🏻 I’ve got a decent spray shop down the road who deal with a lot of performance Fords so should be able to sort it for me 😃
Repaint the RF fender.....Replace RF wheel liner......Sand and retouch RR/LR arches....retouch LR sensor.....forget camera.....Align rear bumper.....retouch side skirts......forget tabs. Otherwise drive the piss out of it.
Well not really…the front wing was dented by the previous owners wife (I have pics of it dented), as for the rear - who knows, but most cars have had scuffs / bumps along the way. She’s still really tidy and everyone who sees it in the flesh always compliments it 😁

don't sell it ! wow.. I did over 50k kilometres in the first two years of owning my fiesta ST, done over 108,000km now. fords replacement front shocks are a mess, others complaining too. I cracked the shits and ordered a set of coil overs.. already got powerflex bushes installed all round so maybe MAYBE then it will handle like an ST again...... 🥴
Ford are not the best manufacturer of quality, if you check under the doors, bonnet you will find there's a lack of paint so they saved 5p but after 12 years and only 50k miles it's really good. I remember when I got my first one and the bumpers were a different shade and on investigation I found that the bumpers were painted by the supplier so its a different batch of paint so it's never going to match . Yes you've got to keep it if financially possible 😉
Buying a Mk2 is a love hate relationship - there will be something that’ll break that will annoy you, but once sorted you’ll be in love all over again. 12 year old cars require TLC now, it’s natural 👍🏻

It’s certainly not rough. It’s very tidy for its age, but at 12 years old unless it’s never driven you have to expect the odd imperfection here and there 👍🏻

The "window rattling issue" is also quite common, mine has that too ... extremely annoying, especially since it is so difficult to turn it off

The wheel arch liner was always an issue on mine
I reckon another double sided sticky foam strip will sort it - we’ll see! I’ve seen loads of other cars like it though!

Yes but they already had tabs broken when they came off the other car. It’s very hard not to break them when removing them.

I did take a quick look and both bolts / clips are there. It does wobble about a bit when you shut the boot but guessing that’s normal?

That means the previous owner has either obtained or estimated a build number and put it on the plaque 👍🏻

Ford are not the best manufacturer of quality, if you check under the doors, bonnet you will find there's a lack of paint so they saved 5p but after 12 years and only 50k miles it's really good. I remember when I got my first one and the bumpers were a different shade and on investigation I found that the bumpers were painted by the supplier so its a different batch of paint so it's never going to match .

Yes Ford aren’t the best in terms of quality at times that’s for sure. I had issues with the bodywork on my Mk3 from new which weren’t great 🥴
After watching this its making it very hard for me to sell our Mk Rs 🥴
Buying a Mk2 is a love hate relationship - there will be something that’ll break that will annoy you, but once sorted you’ll be in love all over again. 12 year old cars require TLC now, it’s natural 👍🏻
@@CarFocused I think my comment was misunderstood 🤔we love our RsReggie and he needs for nothing and been taken care of by SCC for the 5 yr of ownership,change in work means no more trains to work and family need another car that can be used everyday so Rs may have to find a new home.All the best.

I agree. It’s definitely the last wide body Ford I think. Won’t see any 3 door, 5 cylinder, wide arched fast Fords every again!

It’s certainly not rough. It’s very tidy for its age, but at 12 years old unless it’s never driven you have to expect the odd imperfection here and there 👍🏻
