- From its sleek, innovative hardware designs and legendary Gretsch-formula shell, Catalina Maple is a favorite among players that want a terrific sounding Gretsch drum set with ergonomically satisfying playing experience and a fresh, contemporary look.
Catalina Maple’s mounting hardware includes a round "gas cap" bass drum mount plate and an ultra-low profile GTS mounting system. Gretsch T-Wing screws and bolts are included on all fittings for drummer-friendly feel and rubber isolated die-cast bass drum claws help keep bass drum hoops looking new.
The 7-ply Gretsch-formula maple shell has 30-degree bearing edges and natural shell interiors. Bass drums include telescopic bass drum spurs and matching maple wood bass drum hoops. Toms and snare drums feature 2.3mm triple flanged hoops. All drums are fitted with Remo drum heads.

That great Gretsch sound
Hey, I’m really glad I saw your video of your Gretsch Catalina Maple Kit in Walnut Glaze Finish! Like you said in your video, the pictures of that finish on the Gretsch website don’t even come close to how amazing that finish really is! Definitely the finish I’m looking to get on the Gretsch Catalina Maple Kit I’m saving up my money to buy.

Would you like to know between the Mapex Armory or Gretsch Catalina Maple batteries? Are 2 of the same Level?
Yes they are. The mapex armory is great for a studio setting whereas the catalina maple is good for live performances
The kick sounds killer
Is it possible to move the tom to the left more with this mounting system? I like the hi tom close to directly in front of my snare. I can just use a tom mount from the cymbal of that's not possible but I kind of want to keep things the way they are. I bought this kit from sweetwater they made a mistake and hadn't sent one box I received one big box containing the hi tom completely put together and the bass drum and floor tom with the hoops and heads but it didn't come with the tuning lug/screws do I can't put my floor tom or bass drum together to play. I'm also missing the mounting peice to mount the hi tom to the bass drum. Most frustrating I'm missing the whole snare drum. I assume it's in the box but it hasn't even shipped. I was helped by my sweetwater salesman this morning he said they can expedite it and send all of the missing parts if the package isn't already put together. So I guess it's not to worry. Just frustrating that I got a new drum kit and can't even play it. I'm so excited for the rest to come in I got all new hardware and I got a new cymbal set at the beginning of the year. I'm so excited to be able to play a completely new set. I played with all the new hardware for my last gig. It's crazy how much an actual drum throne set to a comfortable position feels so differently to what I was using before.

Does anyone know with a 7 ply shell is the shell thickness 5.1 or 7.3 Millimeter?

great playing! With this kit, I've never been able to tune my snare correctly to my satisfaction. How do you tune the snare do sound that great?
BrainBuzzz it helps to tune the resonant head high but not to tight and then top head for more resonance which is what is in this video but what my preference is like a half turn down it's super poppy

Talks about how nice it is to have the option to mount a ride cymbal on the bass drum and how hauling extra gear is a pain in the butt then has his ride cymbal mounted on a separate stand and doesn't even use the mount on the bass drum?
