A little suggestion.By pulling the fly line with your left hand and keeping it close to your hip,this will caught the slack on the line when casting.Now by rapping your index finger of your right hand around the line against the rod ,this will let you know when the fish is sticking.I am far from a pro but this will help your fly fishing.Love the series by the way!!

I think I know exactly where this is the moment you pulled up! If so, I caught my first fish on a fly rod at the feature by where you parked. One of my absolute favorite rivers to fish! Thanks for recording!
Yup, I live in Buffalo NY and it's still snowing today. Tried to fish for crappies today but they're just not shallow yet. I did get a 35 inch Pike though. Had to release it . Out of season. A couple suggestions. Insulated waders. And when drifting nymphs use a strike indicator.
fly fishing is definitely one of the most versatile fishing methods there is and I myself have enjoyed it for several years catching everything from panfish to walleye and bass and trout and moreit's great to have somebody show bushcrafters other means that they may fish other than typical fishing equipment now if they would learn some simple fly tying techniques they'd be all set
You’re what we consider the guy you want to be friends with so you can get free flies because he doesn’t fly fish too often but he ties the flies. Very very good trait to have 👀 haha. I’ve loved fly fishing since I was 10, rare to know of people who enjoy it when they’re young

ive been using my fathers flys from 15-20 years ago, for brookies i find they like black leech flies. rainbows area a bit bighter
