This made me cry for so many reasons: joy and pride, anger and sorrow. Joy to see him so comfortable in his own skin and happy in living his truth; proud for him to have had the courage to "give up" Charice to be his own true self, without losing what her journey has meant to him; anger and sorrow over the fact that so many people bash and hate on somebody just because they want to live their life as the person they truly are. Charice's life and journey and everything she went through, good and bad, will always be with Jake. But she was never who he really was. He's Jake and he's now finally living his truth. The world loved Charice and of course it's okay to be sad that we won't see her again. But people need to listen to Jake and what he's saying. Can you imagine having to live a lie your whole life? Charice crying when Oprah said that "all your dreams are coming true" wasn't only because she was overwhelmed with gratitude, but because the only real dream she had was to be who HE was and that didn't feel like a possibility yet. And as painful as that was her, here he is now, having overcome all that hardship. He's now his real self and that is much more important than all the rest. People who stood by Charice should stand by Jake too, and more strongly so than ever, because this is the real person. And the fact that he's so grateful of what Charice experienced, and that he speaks of her with such respect? Well, if he can embrace the person he had to pretend to be for so many years just so that the world would consider him "normal", then I'll be damned if the world can't embrace him for who he truly is. Charice was an incredible singer and grateful for everything, but no matter what she achieved she could never be truly happy. Jake may have lost some of the power in his voice, but he can still sing and now he can follow his passion as his true self, and he is happy.

This made me cry for so many reasons: joy and pride, anger and sorrow. Joy to see him so comfortable in his own skin and happy in living his truth; proud for him to have had the courage to "give up" Charice to be his own true self, without losing what her journey has meant to him; anger and sorrow over the fact that so many people bash and hate on somebody just because they want to live their life as the person they truly are. Charice's life and journey and everything she went through, good and bad, will always be with Jake. But she was never who he really was. He's Jake and he's now finally living his truth.
The world loved Charice and of course it's okay to be sad that we won't see her again. But people need to listen to Jake and what he's saying. Can you imagine having to live a lie your whole life? Charice crying when Oprah said that "all your dreams are coming true" wasn't only because she was overwhelmed with gratitude, but because the only real dream she had was to be who HE was and that didn't feel like a possibility yet. And as painful as that was her, here he is now, having overcome all that hardship. He's now his real self and that is much more important than all the rest.
People who stood by Charice should stand by Jake too, and more strongly so than ever, because this is the real person. And the fact that he's so grateful of what Charice experienced, and that he speaks of her with such respect? Well, if he can embrace the person he had to pretend to be for so many years just so that the world would consider him "normal", then I'll be damned if the world can't embrace him for who he truly is.
Charice was an incredible singer and grateful for everything, but no matter what she achieved she could never be truly happy. Jake may have lost some of the power in his voice, but he can still sing and now he can follow his passion as his true self, and he is happy.
